Who, me?

A friend of my wife read my first book and made this comment: "with your interests and background," she said to me referring to my passion for driving racecars and playing rugby, "I was surprised to find you write from the female perspective with such sensitivity. You must be firmly in touch with your feminine side after all."
Me? I'd never thought I had much of a feminine side really let alone that I knew how to get in touch with it. But once I was over the surprise I realized I'd unknowingly adopted the same approach with my second book 'Cat Face' hopefully with the some of the same thoughtfulness. As soon as I was comfortable with the unexpected idea I was able to embrace her observation as a true compliment not only to me as a novelist but, far more importantly, to me as a man. Who knows, maybe there’s a lot more to this writing thing than simply trying to entertain our readers.
