Writer Groups and Deadlines

My writing career has been blessed with deadlines. In my broadcast news days, I frequently had eight deadlines per day, Newspapers were a bit better with only one or two each day but those stories required more ink, more research.
These days, I have a weekly deadline, self-imposed. I belong to a writers support group that meets each Tuesday morning. My job, I demand of my self, is to show up with n Read more of this blog post »

Bearstone Blackie, Detective (Humor)
1 chapters   —   updated Feb 11, 2017 07:38PM
Description: Bearstone is the world's first Black Bear detective. He works out of the fictional town of El Bruno where he investigates cases dealing with characters from Mother Goose, the brothers Grimm, comic strips, and television series. The target audience for Bearstone is twelve and up. The humor would be familiar to readers of the comic strips Pearls Before Swine and The Far Side. Here is a link to my Amazon listing for Bearstone: http://amzn.to/2lwzMs2
Hemingway, Memories of Les (Biographies & Memoirs)
1 chapters   —   updated May 13, 2015 06:35PM
Description: Les Hemingway was an accomplished writer and adventurer who happened to be standing in the shadow cast by one of the English language's all-time great authors, his brother Ernest. From the book: "There was a sense of both the magic and the tragic involved with the Hemingway name; it could open doors and it could also be a big pain. Here was my friend who had a career most writers would die for. He had written a best-selling book, had reported for major dailies, had free-lanced for a number of magazines and lived in a beautiful place in South Florida and it wasn’t enough for the critics and maybe never enough for him because he wasn’t Nobel Prize winner Ernest Hemingway."
