Book Description:
When Allison is asked to play Cinderella-turned-Fiancée at a Halloween ball, the last thing she expected was to be accused of murder on the same night. She has to find the killer and quick, or she'll be put to death for the crimes she didn't commit. To make matters worse, the victims are all werewolves.
On the short list of potential victims, Allison has to act fast, or the killer will have one more body to add to his little black book of corpses.
There's only one problem: One of the deaths has struck too close to home, and Allison's desire for self-preservation may very well transform into a quest for vengeance...

It was well enough our ‘relationship’ was nothing more than make-believe. Our friendship wasn’t much better off, either. Unfortunately, Mark didn’t know that. I shook my head to clear it, staring down at my watch.
3:59 pm.
I glanced eastward, at the glass-lined wall of the jewelry store I was in. Shoppers hurried about their business in the broad mall hallways, chatting to each other or talking on their too-expensive cell phones. Beyond the walls of the building, I could already feel the moon calling to me, birthing shivers under my skin. In a little over an hour, it would start to rise. I made a thoughtful sound, turning my attention back to the glass case in front of me.
It was a full moon on Halloween. Some people would don masks, confident in their superiority as a human, never realizing how close they’d tread to a very violent and bloody end. Others would remove the masks they normally hid behind, rejoicing in their one night of freedom.
A sad few would have no idea what horrors they had sowed come morning.
I was in a lot of trouble. My fellow boogeymen didn’t frighten me all that much. It was Mark who worried me. Mark, as well as the other humans he’d subject me to before the night was done. I hadn’t lost control in years — I doubted Mark’s mother had been born since the last time it’d happened.
But that didn’t change the fact that it could happen.
Old or not, I was still a bitch. Without pack or mate, it was only a matter of time before I lost control.
Mark wouldn’t stand a chance, and when I finally lost my grip on sanity, I wouldn’t even remember killing him. Why hadn’t I said no? Why had I agreed to travel to New York on Halloween? What had I been thinking?
I hadn’t been, and that was a big problem.
“Is there something I can help you with, miss?” A woman asked from beside me. I about jumped out of my skin.
Shit. I swallowed back my heart and improvised. Without really seeing the jewelry beneath the glass, I pointed at something shiny, and hoped it was a necklace. “May I see that please?”
“That’s a very expensive piece, ma’am.”
I glanced at the woman out of the corner of my eye. A pastel pink blazer was matched with a pencil skirt that showed off thin legs and knee-high black boots. Glittering bracelets clung to her wrists. “Is that so,” I murmured, focusing my attention on the piece I pointed at.
Rubies and diamonds winked at me, woven together in a Celtic knot trapped in the center of a web of delicate diamond-encrusted chains. My cheek twitched.
No wonder the woman was skeptical and eying me suspiciously. Here I was, in some luxury jewelry store poking around to waste time, dressed in a beat-up leather coat, a baggy sweater, and worn jeans, complete with mud splatter from my walk in Central park. As my luck had it, I pointed out a necklace worth more than any car or house I’d ever seen in person, let alone owned.
I felt the eyes of every customer in the store settle on me. Great. Just what I needed. An audience.
Maybe I should’ve acted more indignant. Maybe I should’ve walked away. Instead, I took out my wallet, pulled out my black platinum Amex card, and tossed it on the counter. “May I see that please?”
The sales woman stared at the card and then at me, her eyes narrowing. “Do you really think I’m going to believe this is your card?”
Half of the customers in the store cleared out in the time it took the sales woman to pick up my card.
“Is there a problem?” A man dressed in a business suit stepped forward. His blue eyes took in my clothes before settling on the black credit card in his coworker’s hand.
The woman glared down her nose at me, her gaze settling on my beat-up jacket. “I do believe we have a stolen credit card here, sir.”
The manager snatched my credit card. “Is this true, miss?”
Oh hell no. I felt my cheek twitch again. “It’s not. I’ll just take my card to a different store, then.”
“I think this can be resolved quickly and easily, miss,” the man replied. He frowned at me. “Can I see your ID please?”
I showed him my license. The manager winced. “I’m sorry, there have been a lot of theft of valuable jewelry lately by those with fraudulent credit cards and out of state driver’s licenses. This will only take a few minutes as I verify this is a real card.”
Well, at least he wasn’t going to call the police on me right away. I sighed. “Since when hasn’t my driver’s license been sufficient proof? What is this? LA?”

When she isn’t playing pretend, she likes to think she’s a cartographer and a sumi-e painter. In reality, she herds cats and a husband, and obeys the commands of Tsu Dhi, the great warrior fish.
In her spare time, she daydreams about being a spy. Should that fail, her contingency plan involves tying her best of enemies to spinning wheels and quoting James Bond villains until she’s satisfied.

Trace could see countless emotions play across the girl’s heart-shaped face, but the one that immobilized him was the instant attraction he’d seen in her alarmed gaze. Though she tried to hide it with indifference, for some reason it had Trace rethinking his next move.
“Ready?” he asked, holding his hand out to her, effectively breaking the spell he’d held over her.
She held her shirt close to her chest and shook her head. “Look—”
Trace smiled as she tried to loosen the effects of the pain medicine.
“I’m not going anywhere with you, and as soon as Officer Flores comes back, I’m going to explain to her that you are some loon from the streets that’s trying to get me to join some Kool-Aid drinking cult and have her arrest your crazy butt.” She pointed her finger at him and opened her mouth to speak again.
Before she could, Trace moved. He had had every intention of taking the girl and doing the job that he’d been trained to do, but as soon as he looked into her cinnamon gaze, he closed the space between them and pulled her tightly into his arms. Her small, warm frame trembled.
“Shh… I am not going to hurt you.” He’d never said that to a person before, but to her, it felt so damned true. He hoped it was simply meant to calm her until his head was back on the job and he would actually be able to carry out his orders.
Her eyes sparkled with unshed tears as her spine stiffened and she glared up at him. “Yes, you are. That’s why you came.” Her lips trembled with fear.
Trace placed one open palm on her back and the other on her hip, locking her in place. “And why do you say that?”
Trace made the mistake of looking down into her cinnamon gaze. She was young, but he could tell that she’d been through some things and come out on top. He wondered what price she’d paid in order to escape what life had thrown at her.
Trace realized how unfair her situation was. The sadness in her eyes, the way she held herself, and the spunk that she had thrown at him earlier made him smile inwardly. She was a woman that deserved a second chance.

Did you always wanted to be a writer? If not what did you want to be?
At one point I wanted to be a Veterinarian. I love animals and I always wanted to take care of them, but as I got older I decided writing was where my heart belonged.
When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?
I didn’t consider myself a writer until months after I’d released my debut novel, Few Are Angels. It was odd; I actually posted a question on Facebook about it. I asked, “When can I change my job to author?” A bunch of my author friends jumped on it and told me, “NOW!! Right now!!”
How long did it take to get your first book published?
My first novel took about 15months to write. I wasn’t sure how much time to devote to it or if I was even going to publish it. Now, I work my day job six hours a day and I write six hours a day. I can finish a novel between 2 and 6 months depending on my motivation.
Do you do another job except for writing and can you tell us more about it?
My “day” job, which is actually an overnight job, is at a factory making chainsaws. I get GREAT inspiration from the crazies that work there! It’s a good place to work and makes the worlds #1 handheld chainsaw!
What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?
My newest novel is called, Running in the Dark. Bessina and Trace are living lives that are unsatisfying and they find friendship in an untraditional relationship. Did I mention he was sent to kill her?
Who is your publisher? Or do you self-publish?
I self-publish and have a publisher, CHBB. The ‘In the Dark’ series is the only series I have that will be published with a publisher. It’s great to have a family behind you supporting you. I love Crushing Hearts and Black Butterfly!
What genre would you place your books into?
All of my books are considered New Adult and Paranormal Romance! I love that genre and most likely won’t stray very far from it.
What made you decide to write that genre of book?
I didn’t decide to write in any genre. One day, I just started writing and because my characters were a certain age and vampires popped up in my book they are given the genre: New Adult Paranormal Romance J
Do you read all the reviews of your book/books?
Not really. I don’t read reviews below three stars. I know what author’s say about constructive criticism, but it’s heartbreaking to read bad reviews, so I read the good ones and keep on going. I do appreciate any and all reviews. J
Do you choose a title first, or write the book then choose the title?
Both! Few Are Angels got its title after the book was written and Running in the Dark got its title first. It really depends on what’s going on in my life at the moment.
How do you come up with characters names and place names in your books?
I hate picking names!! If you’ve read my books, you’ll notice A LOT of names end with “A”! I’m VERY unoriginal with names, expect for Bessina from Running in the Dark! That was the only name I took more than 10 minutes to come up with!
Do you think books transfer to movies well? Which is you favorite/worst book to movie transfer?
I do. I learned that the author sells the rights to what they created and give up a lot of control. I’d LOVE to see Lili St. Crow’s Strange Angels on the big screen!
Your favorite food is?
Thai Curry
Your favorite singer/group is?
Bastille
Your favorite color is?

I've spent seventeen years being a wallflower. Seventeen years, watching people live their lives, while mine stood still. I was happy for those years, nothing new happened because I never let it, every day was the same and predictable.
When my parents told me we were moving...to another state, I freaked.
I spent the first week, after the move, wishing I could move back. But then something changed, I became a someone, and to begin with I enjoyed it, but I soon learned, some things aren't always as they seem.
I have two lives now. Both of them are testing me, pushing me to my limits.

I was quickly whipped round, and was shooting towards the surface, that tiny glimmer of hope latched onto my heart. Maybe I would make it, and all of this would be like a bad dream.
My head broke the surface water and I gasped the biggest breath I could. I was panting uncontrollably as I tried to regain my composure, oxygen never tasted so good. Or did it?
It was eerily quiet, there was no wind, no atmosphere and the sea air smelt damp and musty. I slowly tried to ease my eyes open, rubbing them with the heel of my hands. Peeking through my lashes I found darkness. I rubbed my eyes again and opened my eyes wider and still, it was just darkness.
My mind wandered back to the bar that barreled into my stomach, not long after the pain had subsided. It was still there, pushing me against the wall. I calmly moved my hands and placed them on the bar, preparing myself to break free. As I adjusted my hands on the surface I felt... skin.
My breath hitched in my throat, goose bumps bubbled up under my skin, out of fear. Who or what was it? I was unable to remove my hands, too scared to move.
“Are you okay?” The male voice asked from nowhere. It wasn't threatening or scary, in fact it made me feel calm. Calmer than I was a few seconds ago.
I took a deep breath, trying to keep my voice calm and steady. “Yes. I think so,” was all I could muster.
“Good. I need you to do me a favor” his voice was closer to my ear than before, it made me jump slightly, surprised by it's proximity.
I wriggled slightly, to see if I could break free. I couldn't. Instead, the grip tightened. “Sure, anything.” I wasn't in the greatest position to reject a favor.
“I want you to hold on to this” The 'bar' removed it self from my stomach, and two hands carefully grabbed my hips, spinning me around and lightly pushing me against a hard, slimy surface. “Hold on here, I’ll be back in a sec'.”
My hands gripped tightly around something, like a protruding rock high above my head. The water splashed in the darkness a couple of times before silence fell again.
His voice in the darkness startled me “Close your eyes. It'll sting if you keep them open”
The sound of something scraping against rock, brought me back to my current dilemma. There was a click and suddenly I could see light creeping in through my closed eyelids. I raised my head slowly at the sound of more scraping.
The water splashed a few more times, then two warm hands gripped my shivering body, around my waist. I instantly stilled. I felt my body being dragged away from the wall, reluctantly I released my grip and allowed whoever or whatever was holding me, to move me. The light became brighter the more we moved, but I was too scared to open them. I didn’t want to confront this nightmare.
I felt a stone-cold wall come in contact with my abdomen, shocking me yet again. The hands slowly turned me, so my back was pressed up against it. My breathing was slowly becoming more erratic, my heart was close to beating out my chest and I wanted nothing more than for all this to be over with.
“Slowly open your eyes. You don't want to make them sting.” The mystifying voice was so close, and yet beginning to sound so familiar, minus the echo.
Slowly but surely, I peeked through my lashes, sure enough the bright light stung as my eyes readjusted after seeing the darkness for so long. I tried again, opening gradually and allowing them to adjust before opening any wider. My vision was still slightly blurry, but eventually, everything came into focus. I skimmed over the cold, damp cave, fear gripping at my body. I noticed the ledge that I’d been gripping onto, it being the only thing that protruded out the walls, everywhere else was smooth and slimy. Then I noticed the light. It was perched on a shelf in the cave, like a little dugout. It was a cheap, plastic looking battery lantern that you'd probably buy a child, camping for the first time. Lastly, I looked at the person holding me.
My heart pummeled against my chest, as I took in the bare chest, the strong muscular arms and strong hands that were gripping tightly at my waist.
His bright smile had my breath catching in my throat. It had been so long since I’d seen it “How you feeling?”
“Cory?” the question a mere whisper as it left my lips
He chuckled. “In the flesh. Now seriously, how you feeling?”
I glanced around at my surroundings once more, “Confused. Definitely confused.”
“Is that all? You didn't hurt yourself or anything?”
“No. I don't think so. Where am I?”
He took a moment to glance around the cave himself, looking as if he was trying his hardest to find away of telling me without scaring me. “We're in the rock?” his eyebrows muddled together apologetically and he gave a halfhearted smile.
“In? In the rock? How the hell do we get out?” I scanned the cave once more, looking for an exit. Nothing.
I watched as Cory's eyes drifted to the water “Same way we came in?”
“No. No. No. I'm not swimming down there.” I pushed at his bare arms, trying to free myself from him. I wanted to get out another way and I’d do it without him.
“Stop panicking” he caught my wrists and pinned them to the wall, away from my body. I continued to squirm, but it was useless. “We need to talk.”
“No we don't. We never do. Just let me go so I can get out of here.”
“And look where that’s got you. I told you not to jump in and now your here. If you'd have let me talk and had listened to what I had to say, none of this would have happened” His breathing was becoming heavier, as he became angrier, but he looked like he was trying his hardest to calm himself down. I stopped squirming and stared into his eyes. Not wanting to break contact, to prove I was just as mad as he was.
“Can you at least do me a favor?” I spat.
“What?”
“When I jumped in, I became tangled. Can you at least get the net from my legs so I can swim?”
His body eased up slightly and his face became sorrowful. He seems to have the ability to

Excerpt I can’t take my lips off her. I need her so much right now. I’m starving for her lips. I can’t catch my breath, but I can’t stop either. I need her to feel how much I love her, need her to know how much I need her and that everything I said was a fucking lie. It was all the fear of not being able to live up to her expectations, the horror of disappointing her. I pushed her away instead of talking to her. If only I’d told her before why I was doing this, to help her mom out, then maybe this would’ve never happened. But fuck, I am happy she’s here and that she’s all right. She’s here in my arms and I’m not letting her go. Never again. I’m such a fucking mess, and still she loves me. I have no fucking clue why, but that’s why I love her. She loves me completely, unconditionally, so much that she can’t stand the thought of me even having the slightest scratch on me. I know I’m a bastard for earning money with fighting, but it’s the only thing I can do, and I’ll make sure I’ll be damn good at it. If she can’t see me get hurt, then I won’t let myself get hurt. I’ll make sure it never happens. I’ll train and fight until I can knockout everyone in my path with her watching me, smiling, proud. I want to be her winner. Smelling her, I take in her scent in with eagerness, wanting her so close, holding her isn’t even enough anymore. My fingers slide down her neck to her spine and down to her waist as I turn her around, still kissing her. I’m slowly taking her back to the car, not taking my lips off her. Entangling her fingers through my hair, she lets me push her backward until we reach the hood of the car. I’ve not been the best at finding directions when I have my fucking eyes closed. Kissing her is more important than seeing where I’m going. She bumps against the hood, and I put my arms around her, making sure she can’t slip away. I’m not letting her out of my sight. Not anymore. Her plump, pink lips are so luscious … so soothing … so volatile for me. They turn me into something I shouldn’t be right now, but I can’t help myself. Planting my hands on the hood, I trap her inside my arms and ravish her mouth. I can’t get enough of her, can’t get enough of her sweetness, her passion, her spark, her flame. I need her love right now. “God … I want you so much right now, I can’t stop,” I murmur against her mouth, nipping at her lips, catching them with my teeth. “I want you too. Don’t stop,” she whispers, and then she drags me closer by my shirt. “Hmm …” I moan into her mouth, but then take my lips off her again. If I don’t stop now, I’ll turn into that beast again. I know, because I’ve been there before. She does that to me. Especially now, because I haven’t seen her for a while, and now that I’ve finally got my hands on her I’m not sure I can hold back. I don’t even want to, but I’m forcing myself to stop. It’s not right to take it further now. Not after what we just went through. “We’re soaked,” I say. “Yeah …” The way she says it sends shivers down my spine. It’s like she’s saying she’s ‘wet’ in a whole different way. Exhilarating. “No, I mean, we should get back to the car.” She shakes her head, pulling me in for another kiss, but I barely escape. “I can’t control myself,” I say. “You don’t need to.” She leans forward and pulls down my shirt, exposing my collarbone. When she starts pecking my skin, I’m done for. Groaning, I say, “You don’t know what you’re in for.” “Yes, I do. We’ve had sex before.” “Not on a fucking car, on a road, in the rain.” “I don’t care,” she whispers, wrapping her arms around my waist and pulling me closer. My cock springs alive from her tug. She’s never been this needy. This willing. It’s like she wants me to fuck her. “I need to feel your lips on me. I need you. I need you everywhere. Inside me,” she whispers close to my ear. Fuck. She’s undoing me with her words. Now I’m hard as fuck. It feels so fucking wrong after a fight, but so very tempting at the same time. My desire to take her has been multiplied by ten since we argued, as if my inner caveman knows that in order to fix love you need to fill each other up with love. Or in other words, fill her up to the brim. My cock is throbbing in my pants at the thought of having her right now. I can’t think of anything else; it’s like my mind is only focused on one thing now, which is claiming her. Ah, screw my conscious. “Fuck it …” I murmur, and then I dive into the little nook between her neck and shoulder and kiss her until my lips are raw and swollen. I push her up against the car, and the lift her up, setting her down on the car. Parting her legs, I step closer and suck the beads of water off her skin. With my tongue I slip down her neck, licking up all the raindrops until I reach her tits. Her hands drop back onto the hood when I grasp both her perky tits in my hands and kiss the swell, going from one to the other. “God, you’ve never tasted this good before.” She giggles, which only gives me more incentive to seize her body and make it mine. My fingers travel down her stomach while I keep my lips on her collarbone, teasing her as I slide lower and lower, avoiding her pleasure spot. I know she wants it, but I want her to savor that feeling for a while. I want her to realize what she’d be missing if I wasn’t there to please her anymore. And I want to enjoy myself while doing it. I curl my fingers around her shirt and rip it over her head, surprising her. “You scared someone’s gonna find us here?” I tease, throwing the shirt on the hood of the car. She squints, a smirk appearing on her face. “No.” I purse my lips and raise an eyebrow. “Not even a little bit?” Little moans escape her mouth as I massage her tits. She can’t speak, but shakes her head instead. Hmm … I wonder how far she’ll go. I want to know if I can push her boundaries. It’s too exciting not to try. So I slide my fingers down her shoulder, pushing her bra down, and then in one surprise move I flip her tits out of her holsters. She gasps as I immediately lock my mouth over her rosy nipples. “Oh, Hunter …” she moans as I flick my tongue over her hardened peaks. “What? You backing down yet?” I tease. “No. Definitely not. Oh my god …” she murmurs. “Hmm… I like that.” I grin against her skin as I lick her tits until they are nice and perky. My hand drifts down to her pussy and I splay my fingers, grasping her possessively. “Mine.”

Patricia D. Eddy has been a writer all of her life. She used to sit at her parents' kitchen counter at an Apple IIe typing out short stories. She even wrote a few on their old typewriter. But it wasn't until NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) in 2011 that she ever came close to finishing a story she started.
Once that dam broke, the flood waters never receded. Patricia sits down to write every evening after dinner and quite often sees midnight come and go before she heads to bed. She doesn't sleep much. But she wouldn't have it any other way.
In her spare (HA!) time she runs, bikes, swims, yogas, pilates-es, reads, and is terribly addicted to Doctor Who and Sherlock. Apparently she has a thing for quirky British men.

Book Description:
Dani is determined to change. Trodden down by her abusive stepdad, neglectful mother, and nonexistent social life, Dani decides to leave it all behind—she flees into the night and finds herself in a dark, and strangely wondrous, new world. A world unknown to most humans.
However, destiny is an unpredictable force. Through a peculiar turn of events, she unknowingly gets entangled in a brutal war waging between two factions of vampires.
The Ruemisuds are a technologically advanced, elite vampire society that wants absolute control. They will stop at nothing to get it, including experimenting on unsuspecting humans and decimating the Rhowels, a clandestine, rebel clan of vampires. This clan possesses a key to survival that the Ruemisuds desperately want, and they will protect it until the bitter end.
Dani's riveting journey has just begun in this beautiful tale of love, hate, betrayal, and, above all, survival. The war is escalating quickly and Dani is determined to survive. Who will help her? Who will win the war?
Someone bangs against the mailbox behind us. I feel a knot in my throat as my adrenaline kicks in. My heart starts to race, pounding in my chest. We sprint as fast as we can with our hands clutched together. Dani keeps glancing back to make sure we aren’t being followed. She then looks at me with a sly half-smile. Only the left side of her lip stretches and reveals a little bit of her teeth. I recall that used to turn me on at school every time I saw it as she walked past me . . . and it still does. My left shoe becomes untied and I clumsily trip. I totally feel stupid and awkward.
I look at Dani and she gives me a concerned look. She then continues to look back and to the sides. We both look at Bushing Park up ahead and nod in agreement.
There might be a place to hide there. “Let’s chill in Bushing for a bit,” I suggest, breathing heavily.
“OK, but you have to listen to me, please! This thing wants to kill you!” Dani blurts out hastily.
“What? Are you serious?” I stop on a dime. “Dani, what the hell? What’s going on?” I smoked a little pot earlier, but my high is wearing off. My cloudy mind becomes alert. I finally notice Dani’s clothes are stained and she is a mess. A light goes off in my head. Dani is in some serious trouble, and so am I. Dammit. What are we going to do?
I should’ve taken that martial arts class that I’ve been meaning to take for some time now. How am I going to protect her? Dammit. I can’t stop cursing at myself. We continue to run side by side, staying low and trying not to make any noise.
Dani notices I’m out of breath and starts to slow down until she comes to a halt under a tree. I’m badly in need of a break from all the running. How the heck does this girl have so much stamina and energy? She’s hardly tired.
“Matt, there’s this thing—it’s coming for you because you are human!” She grabs my arm tighter and ready to take off again.
“What! Because I’m human? What the heck are you then?” I barely deliver those words as I exhale heavily. This is absurd. She must be high or something. I throw Dani’s grip away and point at her with authority. “You need to calm the hell down! I’m calling 9-1-1!” I reach for my cell phone but Dani forcibly holds my hand to not let me pull it out.
She grabs my face with her hands and pulls my face close to hers. “Matt, please trust me! Just hide with me for a bit. I can explain everything!”
A deep rumbling sweeps through the park, like one of those cars with heavy bass. Is someone driving their low-rider into the park? That can’t be right. I try to make sense of my surroundings as I begin to hear clashing metal on metal clanking near the kids’ playground. It sounds like chain mail going across the monkey bars. Shit. Dani might be onto something.
I can hear rapid huffs and puffs of air. The last time I heard deep breathing like that was when we had a giant bull at my family’s ranch. Whatever this thing is that’s out there, I can tell it’s very large.

“Eleanor…” he whispered her name and she stopped. She turned towards the sound that she couldn’t locate.
“Over here.” He guided her with his hand from behind the craggy trunk, allowing it to be just visible enough to make her curious as to who its owner might be. An adult might run, scream, or faint at the sight of a translucent hand gesturing mysteriously, but Eleanor was an insightful little girl and wanted to know more. The redhead on the seesaw looked dismayed and repeated her plea. This annoyed Onyx considerably; he was tempted to go shut her up, but her attention was now steady on the phantom arm that beckoned her. He controlled his visibility simply with his mind. If he thought it, it became a reality for him.
Eleanor's little blonde curls shook a little as she seemed to be attempting to clear her head. He could start to feel the gravitational pull from within her. It started to tug on his energy, almost gripping him and pulling him piece by piece, atom by atom, ever closer to her.
"Come a little closer, Sweetheart. How many fingers am I holding up?" If he distracted her with the game or a challenge, it would be that much easier. Anticipation started to build within him, like the sweet pressure of an inevitable release. Trance-like now, unable to resist the lure of his sugary voice, she walked right into his arm and it was over.
"Hey," he said. She jerked her head to the left and saw only his spiraling eyes. Before she could utter a scream he was in through her surprised mouth, busily working into her muscles, connecting with her spinal cord to coordinate her movements. Her sensory organs were pliable, and the tendrils that were extensions of his personality easily wrapped around every bone, every nerve ending. She was stunned into silence by the complete and sudden takeover. He felt strong and empowered. It had been weeks since he had felt a young, healthy host take him to dizzying heights of euphoria.
This was where Gemini were meant to be, where they felt most in control and in touch with their true ability. To connive and manipulate, ruin and plunder the society around them was only justice. They were so weak and puny, murderers and thieves, liars, and rapists. They all took what they wanted from each other, and the earth, then sucked any generosity right out of the atmosphere. He always thought he was helping them shorten the time frame of their journey. They would all eventually die anyway; he just hurried along the process. He felt the need to justify himself after entering someone. He knew there was some deep hidden morsel of doubt that what he was doing was right, that every human should be annihilated from existence. He would never divulge these doubts to himself or anyone else. It was a hidden monster within him and he would never lend it credit.
“Eleanor! Please come play!" He turned around in the direction of the voice. He needed to adjust his vision just a little and did so by fitting his hollow sockets a little more snugly around the orbs of her eyes. The optical nerve was delicate and it was sometimes tricky to get the sight perfect. He shook his head at the girl now and smiled. He was not ready to play right now.
It always took him a few minutes to get acclimated in a new body. Sometimes, he would look in the mirror and his first instinct was to ask. "Who are you?" He would become so wrapped up in his missions that he might forget who he was, sometimes even the name of the person he inhabited.
He rested against the craggy bark of the tree and observed his surroundings; three nuns and seventeen children. He had to formulate a plan for how he would take over the main influencers of the church. He would need to study the innards and plot this out, as he told Lilly he would. Nothing rash or stupid would be beneficial; only smooth, calculative moves would render success.
Author Bio: I was born in Chesapeake, Virginia on April 19th, 1979. I was raised within the American Indian religion and was taught great respect for the earth and all its living beings. Powwows, sweat lodges, vision quests, you name it, I’ve done it. I was the weird kid who would confront kids on the playground in elementary school when they squished a bug. I would very sincerely tell them what they were doing was morally wrong and then I would pray for the bug to come back as a butterfly in its next life.

Did you always wanted to be a writer? If not what did you want to be?
No. I entertained the usual professions like modeling, singing, dancing and acting. The stuff dreams are made of.
When did you first consider yourself a “writer”?
When I was twelve years old and completed 2000 hand written pages of a terrible romance novel.
How long did it take to get your first book published?
I was actually blessed enough to be discovered by Jack Hanny, Author of Secrets of the Whitehouse Kitchen. He took me under his wing and referred me to a very good friend of his who has his own publishing company in New York. I am so grateful I did not have to go through the torture of the traditional road to being published.
Do you do another job except for writing and can you tell us more about it?
I am the Director of Sales at a hotel located on the UVA campus. I have been in hotels for about 15 years and I am honestly very burnt out on it. I am ready to write full time but I will patiently wait until it is the right time.
What is the name of your latest book, and if you had to summarize it in less than 20 words what would you say?
Well, there is Gemini Rising Ethereal Fury- Book I. But, then there is Book II of the series that will be published this fall and I’m also half way through writing book IV. Since I am obsessing over Book II I guess we’ll go with… “A dark ride into the effects of the human footprint on this earth and how she will shake us off.”
Who is your publisher? Or do you self-publish?
Cogent Publishing NY.
How long does it usually take you to write a book, from the original idea to finishing writing it?
Six months. If you include the publishing process- 1 to 2 years.
What can we expect from you in the future? ie More books of the same genre? Books of a different genre?
I am half way through Book IV of the Gemini Rising Series and I don’t really know when it will end. If I write more I plan to grow with my fan base and shift to New Adult and then Adult but I will probably always be a paranormal theme girl.
What genre would you place your books into?
YA Paranormal Romance with a touch of Sci-Fi and Dystopian.
What made you decide to write that genre of book?
Gemini Rising started out as an adult paranormal romance. My then 12 year old got very upset when I told her she couldn’t read my book because of the sex in it! I went back and edited everything too steamy out and turned it into YA specifically for her.
Do you have a favorite character from your books? And why are they your favorite?
ONYX! He is dark, full of angst and struggles with guilt over betraying Mother Earth and falling in love with a human girl. What’s not to love? One of my reviewers described him best when she said- “DRAWING IN HER AUDIENCE, O'Gorek creates a SEDUCTIVELY DANGEROUS yet magnetic villain that the reader CANNOT HELP but find alluring.”
How long have you been writing?, and who or what inspired you to write?
I have been writing since I was 12. My first inspiration to write came from my father who was a published author and took me all over the country to chase his aspirations. I followed lovingly and looked up to him for it. The sound of a typewriter takes me back to my child hood.
Do you have a certain routine you have for writing? ie You listen to music, sit in a certain chair?
I have no routine at all. Routine would kill my creative process. There are ideal environments to write in. Mainly for me it’s outside with nature, the spring breeze on my face, leaves rustling above.
Do you read all the reviews of your book/books?
Yes, obsessively so. I really take everything with a grain of salt when it comes to bad review but even the bad ones have valid criticism and I treat them all as learning potential. How can I improve if I don’t take my fan’s opinions into consideration?
Do you choose a title first, or write the book then choose the title?
Write and then choose.
Are character names and place names decided after their creation? Or do you pick a character/place name and then invent them?
No. I have to have a name for them first and a place for them to live and then they come to life.
Do you decide on character traits (ie shy, quiet, tomboy girl) before writing the whole book or as you go along?
All of my characters start out as one way and then go through enormous growth and changes or sometimes backsliding. So I decide their starting, middle and end point.
No. I have to have a name for them first and a place for them to live and then they come to life.
Are there any hidden messages or morals contained in your books? (Morals as in like Aesops Fables type of "The moral of this story is..")
Yes! The moral of the story is, “Take care of the earth or else!” There are also other morals about developing your inner self and coming to terms with your demons. Onyx has killed thousands of people and has to live with himself and forgive himself.
Which format of book do you prefer, eBook, hardback, or paperback?
Paperback.
What is your favorite book and Why? Have you read it more than once?
Twilight because it inspired me to create something different than your typical “demon” or “angel.”
Do you think books transfer to movies well? Which is you favorite/worst book to movie transfer?
Yes! My favorite transfer is of course, the Hunger Games! Worse- Beautiful Creatures and middle of the rode- City of Bones.
Your favorite food is?
Pizza
Your favorite singer/group is?
Live
Your favorite color is?
Green
Your favorite Author is?

When I was twelve I started hand writing novels. My first one was two thousand pages. My dad always encouraged me and would rave about my writing. He gave me the confidence I needed to keep writing and follow my dream. My daughter, who is twelve, is currently working on her first novel. I hope to continue the legacy.

Book Description:
To save her soul, he’ll let her burn.
Grayce has been on the run for years. Having escaped an abusive relationship with a violent psychopath, she is trying to rebuild her life one small step at a time. Things are going well until Zander crosses her path, badass and sexy as hell. His presence awakens heated desires she long ago buried. Last thing Grayce wants is a man, and the way her body reacts to Zander scares her more than the threat of being found.
Tyr will do anything to get his little dove back. She is a Beacon, and her raw, burning energy gives him power and strength. More than the evil that already compels him. But a blond giant of a man hovers protectively around her. No matter. He’ll play with him too.
When Zander rescues Grayce from Tyr’s first attempt to reclaim her, he reveals his superhuman abilities. Power that Grayce also has, but has yet to understand. As predestined soul mates, Zander must help Grace control her rage before her fire threatens to destroy everyone and everything in her path. But his true challenge is more than that—to show her it’s possible to trust and love again.
CONTENT WARNING: Hot sex with a foul-mouthed firecracker.
With bare hands splayed across the open wounds, Grayce squeezed her eyes closed and prayed for control. Begged. Pleaded to a God she’d never before acknowledged.
Chelsea needed time to get away.
Grayce prayed for Chelsea, prayed for Zander. Prayed they wouldn’t die because of her.
Her wits slipped away. Raw emotion drove her actions now. Blood covered her arms. Her lips throbbed with the remnants of his kiss. A kiss that felt like goodbye. He couldn’t die. The primal need to protect him overwhelmed her senses.
“Take me,” she implored. “Take me instead.”
Hell’s own fire coursed through her veins. Savage. Brutal. Pissed off.
She would’ve sold her soul at that moment to keep him alive. Zander didn’t deserve this. She did.
Earth and grass swirled and gyrated, turned to ash around her. Her small fingers stretched across his bloodied and shredded skin. Her insides boiled. Her skin bubbled and vibrated with indignant protest.
He said he loved her, now he was dying. Why? What kind of cruel, sadistic joke was this, anyway? Violent trembles overtook her as an earthquake made its way through her body from the inside out.
“I will not let you die.”
Character Name: Zander Vascos
Character Bio:
Zander has a heart of gold, muscles of steel and superhuman strength and speed. He spent his adult life searching for Grayce, his one true mate. Now that he’s found her, it’s all about the love, baby.
Describe yourself what is your worst and vest quality?
Chelsea will tell you my best quality is patience. Grayce would say my big, soft heart, although she uses that to her advantage, making it in my opinion, my worst quality.
What is the one thing you wish other people knew about you?
Don’t want people to know about me. The less they know, the better. Our kind have to keep a low profile. The world isn’t ready for us.
What is your biggest secret something no one knows about?
I don’t keep secrets. Those who love me, get all of me.
What are you most afraid of?
Losing Grayce. That’s all I’m going to say on that subject.
What do you want more than anything?
I have it. My Grayce. She’s my heart, my everything.
What is your relationship status?
I always have been and always will be one hundred percent committed to my little firecracker. Wedding ring or not. She’s mine for eternity.
How would you describe your sense of fashion?
Denim and cotton.
How much of a rebel are you?
Not at all. That’s just not me.
What do you considered to be your greatest achievement?
Winning Grayce’s love. Damn, she was a tough little cookie to crack.
What is your idea of happiness?
Seeing my lady smile. When it’s genuine, it’s the greatest Goddamned creation in the universe.
What is your current state of mind?
For the first time in my life, I feel whole. *laughs* It’s funny. I’m in love with the one being on earth who has the power to destroy me and I’ve never been more at peace.
What is your most treasured possession?
Grayce’s heart. Had to fight hard for that.
What is your most marked characteristic?
*chuckles* Have you seen me?
What is it that you, most dislike?
Bastards who abuse women.
Which living person do you, most despise?
I’ve only despised one person in my life. That monster is dead. I’d bring him back and kill him again if I could.
What is your greatest regret?
Not finding Grayce sooner. Her life would’ve been hearts and flowers, not whips and chains.
What is the quality you most like in a man?
Humility
What is the quality you most like in a woman?
I’m gonna have to go with fire for this one. Yeah, fire. And by that, I mean internal. Gotta love a woman who can hold her own and fight from her gut for what’s right.
Which living person do you most admire?
That would be my Grayce. She’s survived horrors most of us couldn’t imagine and has still managed to find a way to love.
If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
Not a thing. I’m the way I am for a reason.

Self-proclaimed sorceress Kora Walsh knows exactly how to use her shiny new MBA. She’ll open a new age shop in a colony of the country’s most powerful witches. But the town rife with bigots doesn’t want her or her sleek shop tainting their perfect community.

I might have considered the hotness factor of the guy in the tailored suit standing on my porch if I hadn’t been operating on three hours of sleep. Instead, I repeatedly rubbed the crust out of my eyes and contemplated what kind of insurance he could possibly be selling.
Was there a company that insured members of the Underground against accidents? Whatever it was, it would cost me an arm and a leg because the outfit covering his sinewy body couldn’t have had a price tag for less than a thousand dollars.
“Yeah?” I asked over a particularly aggressive yawn. It came out as “Eeeaaa?” I took the opportunity to pull my polyester robe around myself while he peered over my shoulder into my empty living room.
“I’m Desmond Marino,” the guy on my front stoop said.
The matter-of-fact tone of his smooth, masculine voice suggested he expected I’d heard of him. Likewise he didn’t extend the arm hanging beside his black silk-blend jacket to offer me a shake—the implication being he didn’t feel I deserved the courtesy. Nor did he lift his eyes from their hooded position. That gaze combined with his flat, dark eyebrows and the full lips of a Michelangelo statue gave off the impression of sensual menace. Then again, maybe it was that he was hot in an international male model sort of way with his short blue-black hair, chiseled nose, and posh wardrobe.
He scrutinized me up and down. This guy could give my nemesis a run for his money in the menace department.
What in the world had made me think of Trip now?
The smoky tang of incense floated on the air. I hadn’t burnt any, and the breeze was too brisk for it to have come from a neighbor. But no, that wasn’t incense. It was the marker of a witch.
I took a stealthy sniff while blinking slowly. The crisp note of a fresh mountain stream overtook the smoky tang. Water witch. My stomach twisted into a tight knot. Water witches’ empathic ability often caused the most trouble of the magical community.
“You are not welcome here,” he said in a voice loud enough to wake the neighbors.
Despite the volume I wasn’t sure I’d heard him correctly during my twentieth yawn of the morning. “Pardon?”
His eyes—a disturbing aqua blue not far off from my cerulean hair—somehow managed to hood more without completely closing. He was familiar. Strange, considering I’d never officially met a Water witch.
“This is a colony for witches,” he said haughtily. “You aren’t a witch. How did you get in here?”
“I signed a year lease just like everyone else,” I said, deliberately misunderstanding him.
“This is Wipuk,” he said as if he thought I’d gotten lost on my way to Phoenix. “If you aren’t a witch then you aren’t welcome. You shouldn’t have even been able to crosswithout magical ability.”
I made damn sure he saw my eyebrows shoot up to the middle of my forehead. Desmond Marino was a dick. But if he felt like he could knock on my door at whatever time it was and tell me I wasn’t welcome, then I figured he fancied himself important. I couldn’t simply tell him to stick his head in Cerberus’s maw if I had any chance of completing the task my mother had set forth for me. Infiltrating the magical community’s leadership would be a difficult task without ticking off anyone who might have their ear.
So I emulated an airhead. Guys were always nicer to stupid girls.
“Really?” I blinked vacuously blank eyes twice. “I have a shapeshifter neighbor. And over there in apartment one twenty-six are a werefox dad and son.” I pointed past Desmond the dick’s shoulder toward the building across the courtyard. I let my head tilt to the right so my hair would fall away from my cheek in a girlish way. “I didn’t know witches could be infected by Were-viruses.”
They couldn’t. Nor could a shapeshifter be born a witch. The analogy would be like a dog being born a cat.
Desmond the dick’s full lips puckered, giving him a Muppet-like appearance. “They have been given dispensation to live in Wipuk and keys to cross. You haven’t.”
“Oh gosh,” I said ruefully with noticeably slow blinks I’d always imagined equated to idiocy. “I have this letter from the Centralized Coven Coalition that says… Hang on.” I held up my index finger in the “one moment” sign. “Let me go get it. I don’t want to misquote anyone.”
I scampered to the breakfast bar where I’d dropped my laptop bag. In the stack of papers that included my business plan for my intended shop, my bank statements, and market research into the Sedona economy, was a letter from the coalition. I returned to the door as I flipped through the pages.
“Here it is,” I said in an appropriately vacant tone. “It’s addressed to Rebecca Kora Walsh.” I glanced at him. “That’s me.” At his darkened look, I continued. “It says, I quote, ‘Thank you for your recent interest in relocating to the Wipuk colony. Any faction capable of finding Wipuk is welcome to join us.’” I gave Desmond the dick my beatific smile along with a playful little bounce that sent my cerulean hair sliding away from my face. “I found it!”
His chin was flush with his collar now. The whites of his eyes were no longer visible. Clearly he didn’t enjoy my airhead act.
“Someone helped you,” he said with careful enunciation. “You didn’t simply walkinto Wipuk on our own.”
I shook my head slowly, allowing my eyes to widen in my Golly-Gee-Mr. Wilson expression. “I don’t know anyone here except for the shapeshifter I met last night and the teenage werefox who stole my boxes but brought them back. No one helped me find Wipuk. I just found it.” I gestured to the paper in my hand. “Like I said in my original letter to the coalition, I’m a sorceress. I think that’s why I was able to find the colony.”
Desmond the dick stared at my eyes furiously for three seconds as if he’d expected me to change my tune merely to please him. His next words came out in the same careful tone as his previous statement. “There is no such thing as a sorceress. You had to have help.”
There wasn’t. But he didn’t need to know that. He did need to know I could wield magic. I’d have to give him a show of it.
