Latest Reviews
Good day faithful reader, I wanted to post the latest reviews that I’ve gotten.
Amazon user Smitty Jones had the following to say in his 4-star review of Friedkin’s Curse.
“Very entertaining read. Quick and easy to read as well. The action and werewolf sequences are very well done and are written clearly. Some of the dialogue is a little to on the nose, and some of it feels like stuff no one would actually say. The characters are interesting but their isn’t a lot of character development. In the book it’s stated that this is the author’s first book, and for a first book this shows a lot of promise and I look forward to reading other books from this writer.”

Smitty also reviewed Winston & Baum and the Secret of the Stone Circle and gave it 4-stars. Here is what he had to say:
“This is the second book I have read by this author, the first being Friedkin’s Curse. This novel is an improvement over the first. A very cool world has been created. Also, the main characters have great potential for growth and development. Action sequences are well done and entertaining. The book is also a quick and easy read. The authors ability to plot a story has improved since that first novel as well. Character transitions are handled much smoother than in that book as well.
The writer’s dialogue has improved since Friedkin’s curse as well, but it’s still stiff in places, and at times it’s difficult to tell who’s talking as several character’s dialogue makes them sound like the same character. Their are also some odd grammatical errors but they didn’t affect my enjoyment of the novel.
I really enjoyed the book, and I look forward to reading the next volume.”
Thanks so much for the great reviews Smitty!
I also received the following message from a user on Facebook that I met at C1 Comicon in Ringgold earlier this month.
“Seth, it was nice to meet and talk with you on Saturday. I have finished reading your first Winston and Baum book. look forward to reading the rest of the series.”

C1 Comicon Wrap-up
It was an awesome time in Ringgold this weekend for the 2nd ever C1 Comicon. Great news, it did so well that they are planning on doing a 3rd. It was an honor to be able to be part of last year’s show and get to see it grow this year, and I’m willing to bet that next year is even better.
Last year, I got to hang out with some awesome people, and this year was no different. I was able to meet fellow author Kenyon T. Henry.

Kenyon and his debut novel “Choice of the Mighty”
Kenyon’s book can be found on Amazon by clicking the cover image below.
Back again this year was J.A. Toney.

You can get his novel Gabriel: Sinner by clicking on the cover below.
Of course, Eddie Price, #that3dguy, was back with his awesome artwork. Eddie’s always working on new 2d and 3d pieces, so definitely check him out.

This year at C1, they had a costume contest. There were really good costumes by some top-notch cosplayers.

There were a lot of great things to see and people to meet at C1. I can’t wait for next year.
Stay tuned to my blog for the latest in what I’m up to and where I’ll be. Until next time!

The latest Winston & Baum novel now in print!
Good to see you again faithful readers, I wanted to follow up and let everyone know that Winston & Baum and the Trials of the Baba Yaga is now available in print.
“What’s this one about?” I can hear you asking, and I’m glad you asked.
Book 4 of the Winston & Baum Steampunk Adventures finds our heroes in a very different situation than before, just read the synopsis to see what I mean.
Synopsis: As the war between Britain and Prussia continues to rage on, Baba Yaga, the legendary witch of Prussia, takes a firm stand against the foreign army with all of her supernatural allies. Dan and Lee are pulled apart as Lee is drafted into a special unit of hunters being sent to deal with the monstrous menace. With his ship lost behind enemy lines and most of his unit captured, Lee and the Scottish hunter, Brogan, must attempt to make their way back towards friendly territory, but it won’t be an easy task as the Baba Yaga’s forces hound their every step. When word that Lee is missing reaches home, Dan and Brackish set out on a dangerous mission to save their friend. Following Lee’s path, the two hunters soon learn that the dangers their friend faces are even greater than they imagined. As they race through the Prussian countryside, Dan and Brackish try to reach Lee before the Baba Yaga can get him in her clutches. As they fight to survive, can the exterminators of the strange and weird endure the trials of the Baba Yaga?

New book release, upcoming show, & more
It’s a great day!
Winston & Baum and the Trials of the Baba Yaga is now live and available for your Kindle, with paperback versions expected to be available by the end of next week. You can click on the cover below to pick up your digital copy.
You can actually come out and see me this weekend at Mobicon in Mobile, Alabama. While I won’t have copies of book 4, I will have copies of the first three books in the Winston & Baum steampunk adventure series, as well as copies of Friedkin’s Curse. My wife and cover artist will also be selling copies of her prints and original 3d sculptures. You can view more of her work here. If you are looking for something to do this Memorial Day weekend, swing by and say hey and pick up a book or some art.
I am also currently working on the next two Winston & Baum related projects. The first is a collection of short stories featuring other exterminators of the strange and weird that have been introduced in the main Winston & Baum series, , as well as an early adventure of Dan and Lee’s. I decided to do this after I had so much fun writing Brackish’s short story for Winston & Baum and the Disk of Night. The other project is the fifth Winston & Baum novel, which will be unlike any of the other stories and not be based on regional folklore or mythology. It’s definitely going to be interesting.
That’s all from me for right now, but keep checking back for more information on where I’ll be and what I’m working on.

Connooga Panel #4: Scifi in Horror
We started this panel last year, and everyone had such a good time that they brought it back for another go-round. A fun panel discussing different elements of horror in scifi or scifi in horror, it’s tough to tell which is which honestly. Just listen and enjoy. I was joined on this panel by Alan Gilbreath, editor in chief of Dark Oak Press, Tim Green, operator of Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern, and Chad Sides, the Master of Horror for Connooga. Sit back and enjoy!

Connooga Horror Panel #3: Scary Story Time
This is the third year that this panel has been going, and I’m proud to say that I’ve been apart of it all three years. This panel is the guests sharing stories that are somewhat spooky and in some cases a little funny. Besides myself, Alan Gilbreath, Editor in Chief of Dark Oak Press; Mark Fults, paranormal investigator and psychic; Amy Petula, paranormal investigator and owner of Chattanooga Ghost Tours; and Chad Sides, master of horror for Connooga, all joined in to share their stories. Sit back and enjoy, but you might want to leave the lights on for this one. Warning: There will be adult themes and language in the audio below.

Connooga Horror Panel 2: Classic Horror vs Modern Horror
So following the Craft of Lovecraft panel, my next panel was Classic Horror vs Modern Horror (specifically films). Rejoining me were Tim Green, Chad Sides (Master of Horror for Connooga), Tony, and last, but most definitely not least the wonderful Victoria Price, daughter of horror icon Vincent Price. Listen below and let me know your thoughts. And as before, there is adult commentary on this panel.

Connooga Horror Panel 1:The Craft of Lovecraft
You can listen to my first panel of the con below. This was a fun panel for me. Chad Sides, the Master of Horror for Connooga, Tim Green, the creator of Ruby Falls Haunted Cavern and myself have a great time discussing the works of H.P. Lovecraft with the room. Also, you’ll get to hear us try and convince Tim to give Lovecraft another read to see if he can’t get into this time. And as a disclaimer, you will hear some adult concepts and language in this panel.
