Better Than Never Blog Hop

Author, Dana Griffin, tagged me in theNext Big Thing Blog Hop. He did this awhile ago. Too long ago for his liking. My lackadaisical response might have prompted him to swear off my friendship while chambering the Springfield XD he wishes I bought him for Christmas. But before he fingers the trigger, I’ll point out that he has successfully separated me from my all-absorbing Kindle. What an accomplishment! Not even the lamenting cries of my neglected children can pull me away from my obsessive...

Interview with character Kyle Masters

Interview continues where we left off with Kyle Masters, protagonist from The Cover-Up, and Evie Delina, heroine from Dead of Eve.

Consciousness forces itself upon me with a rude blinding of sunlight and the whir of a propeller.

“Plane’s ready. Let’s move, Evie.”

I know the voice belongs to Kyle, but my disconnected mind is still scrambling to find orientation.

Strong hands grip my arms, punishing in their forcefulness to move me. The forward motion twists my gut as the toes of my boots drag over...

Interview With Character Evie Delina

Kyle Masters, the protagonist in Dana Griffin’s novel THE COVER-UP, interviewed Evie, the heroine in DEAD OF EVE. Kyle asked some tough questions, perhaps some of the same questions others might have asked after reading DEAD OF EVE. Find out how she answered them, and how this interview went horribly wrong, much like everything in Evie’s journey.

DEAD OF EVE is published!

DEAD OF EVE is now available on Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, and Kobo (eBook: $2.99, Paperback: $15.99).

To help me get the word out, Barbara Elsborg (author of Strangers and 20+ other published novels AND one of my favorite all time writers) graciously pimped my debut novel on her blog: Barbara Elsborg: I’m buying this TODAY!!!!.

Won’t you take a moment to click over to her site and say Hi? Oh, and perhaps spread the word about my book to every living and undead person you know? If yo...

Count down to the Dead of Eve

DEAD OF EVE will be released in eBook ($2.99) and print ($7.99) on Halloween 2012. Watch my blog for links on where to purchase.

In the chaos of finalizing this cover, I owe a huge thank you to:

Glendon Haddix at Streetlight Graphics, for consolidating my clustered mind into a perfect illustration of the novel.

Lindy Winter, brilliant writer that she is, for drafting the blurb on the back cover.

Tricia Shepherd, for her artistic eye through the camera.

While we’re waiting–me and all of my two fans...

The Next Big Thing

I guess my reflexes suck becauseJ. Andrew Jansenjust tagged my ass in The Next Big Thing Blog Hop.

As I answer the requisite questions, my .40 cal will be trolling the periphery for the next Blog Hop victims. Consider taking cover.

1. WHAT IS THE WORKING TITLE OF YOUR BOOK?Dead of Eve (Part 1 in the Trilogy of Eve)

2. WHERE DID THE IDEA COME FROM FOR YOUR BOOK?I wanted to test the nature andboundariesof celibacy, so I put a Catholic priest in anapocalypticsetting with the–very complicated and br...

The Cure for Trademark Bowels

Dead of Eve is less than two months from going to press. Since I’m not stressed outaboutthe endless things I have left to do (you can smell my sarcasm, right?), I’ve let my momentum clench into a tight fist of constipation as I fret over whether or not I should be using brand names inmy manuscripts.

Too often, I’ve turnedsentences over and overjust to avoid the use of a trademark. But sometimes the reference iscompulsory. A couple examples from Dead of Eve:

Authors After Dark

As my reading tastes have expanded from Sci-Fi Thrillers to Romance/Erotica, so has my writing. Those who have read the evolving drafts of my first novel might agree. Dead of Eve is still a Sci-Fi / Paranormal Thriller, but the final version certainly acquired a romantic texture.

I’m enjoying the genre so much that I began writing a dark romance, separate from the Trilogy of Eve.

That said, I registered for the 2013 Authors After Dark reader convention, where I’ll interact with authors who’ve i...

Trilogy of Eve

The new titles for the Trilogy of Eve have been penned in blood. Thank you to everyone for voting and offering suggestions. I listened, and based my decision on how the story flows through all three books.

Each represents a stage in the circle, the seasons, the cycle of birth-death-rebirth and the sun and moon.

DEAD OF EVE (Part 1): Symbolizes the apocalypse, the death of humanity and Evie’s spirit guides.

BLOOD OF EVE (Part 2): The blood moon is associated with hunting and feasting, a represent...
