Lots Going On!

Hi, folks,

I can’t believe we’re almost at the end of the year, and I hope that everyone celebrating Thanksgiving has a wonderful time with friends and family.

Before I take a few days off to relax and slip into my snacker pants, I’d like to let you know about a couple of things.

The first is that book #14 in my Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mystery series, The Case of the Natty Newfie, is available for pre-sale and will launch December 2nd.

Take a look at the great cover, my friend and designer extraordinaire, Reggie Cullen, has come up with. And the covers wouldn’t be possible without the amazing photography of JR Miller, whose work in and around the Thousand Islands continues to highlight and pay tribute to the magnificent area so many of us know and love. I simply can’t thank both of them enough for their generous support!

So, what’s Suzy and the gang up to this time?

I’m so glad you asked.

The Case of the Natty Newfie http://amzn.to/2j78ANa

As the launch date of their new dog toy company approaches, Suzy, Josie, and Chef Claire are in Ottawa to do a photo shoot with their dogs as part of the initial marketing campaign. But the photographer, who moonlights for the tabloids, is a young man with a very bad public image and a reputation for being a bit of ladies’ man. And when his assistant is found dead in his downtown loft, the photographer is the number one suspect.

Suzy soon finds herself working with two Canadian detectives she met the last time she was in town and right in the middle of a bizarre case that includes some rather scandalous photographs, blackmail, and, quite possibly, a case of mistaken identity. Further complicating things is a huge early winter snowstorm that has everyone on edge and more than a few people severely under the weather.

As Suzy digs into the case, she comes face to face with a diverse group of potential suspects including The Black Widow, a socialite with five dead ex-husbands, a mining magnate who has inexplicably signed up to be husband number six, a couple of famous models, and the aunt of Suzy’s new boyfriend, Max, whose career ended abruptly when she was caught in an embarrassing situation, quite possibly by the very same photographer they’re using for the dogs’ photo shoot. Despite her latest resolution to take a step back and let the police do their thing, Suzy’s neurons are soon on fire, and, once again, she finds herself up to her neck in the case, and up to her waist in snow before she can get a good handle on exactly what’s going on.

The Case of the Natty Newfie is the latest installment in B.R. Snow’s popular Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries and deals with dogs, food, and the power of friendship set in one of the most beautiful spots on the planet.

And for those of you who prefer actually holding a book in your hands instead of a Kindle, I wanted to let you know that Book #13 in the Doggy Inn series, The Case of the Mellow Maltese is now available in paperback. If you missed the launch earlier this month, it hit #1 on the Dog Breed rankings on Amazon right out of the gate and still occupies the top slot.

The Case of the Mellow Maltese http://amzn.to/2zSiaNW

As B.R. Snow’s The Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mystery series reaches its halfway point, serious change is in the air for Suzy and her mom.

It’s 147 time in Clay Bay, a water-based triathlon Suzy’s mom has organized to help extend the tourist season a bit longer. And while Suzy and Josie are more than comfortable enjoying the event as mere spectators, Chef Claire is determined to participate in the grueling event. But as her training regimen accelerates, she soon finds herself agreeing with both of them that she’s lost her mind.

When they find a Maltese stranded on a paddleboard in the middle of the River during one of Chef Claire’s training sessions, they’re able to rescue the dog and soon reunite her with her owner. But Suzy is convinced that the dog being out on the water all by itself was no accident and certain that Maria, the dog’s owner, was being sent a message. And when one of the participants is shot during the race, the stakes are raised in a hurry as Suzy begins her search for clues.

Before Suzy can even begin to find her bearings regarding who might have killed the kayaker, she is banished from the investigation by Chief Abrams, who is following the mandate laid down by her mother that she refrain from doing what comes naturally. Miffed and petulant about being cut out of the case and sent to the sidelines, the Snoopmeister sets out on her own investigation, and is soon up to her neck in the middle of a mystery that involves a diverse cast of characters who work for the company that is organizing the 147, a few of their corporate sponsors, and an ex-gangster bookmaker from her mother’s past.

Forced to cut a deal with her mother, Suzy agrees to focus on her personal life in exchange for her mother’s agreement to mind her own business. And when Suzy and Chief Abrams find themselves in Mexico trying to track down the killer, along with her mother and her new boyfriend, Suzy has a chance encounter with a stranger who just might be a ‘keeper’ and bumbling through a series of adventures that will hopefully lead her and the Chief down the trail they need to put the pieces together in a very strange and funny puzzle.

The successful party quickly became a distant memory when Dana was found murdered near her pool house. It didn’t help that the murderer was certain they’d been spotted by DeeDee, and she could identify the killer.

DeeDee had ended her relationship with, Jake, her PI boyfriend, so she had no one to turn to for help when the killer sent her a threatening note telling her to keep quiet or she’d be the next victim. Her sister, Roz, calls on Al De Duca to help. He’s a retired enforcer for the mob who’s afraid of spiders and the open ocean, but has a heart of gold. Can he make it back from the Cayman Islands in time to prevent DeeDee’s murder?

But just who was Dana’s murderer? Dana’s spurned billionaire shipping magnate and longtime lover? His jealous wife? Dana’s husband who has a serious gambling addiction? Her television substitute who desperately wants her job? Or the television star she outed when she disclosed his sordid past on her show?

It becomes a race against time to see if Al, her Mafia bodyguard, can find the murderer before DeeDee becomes the next victim. Fortunately, her estranged boyfriend, Jake, and her loyal husky, Balto, are there to help Al, but will it be enough?

Jessica Huntington is back in the fourth Desert Cities Mystery by USA Today bestselling author, Anna Celeste Burke.

Jessica’s ex-husband, James Harper, and her mother, Alexis, are in big trouble in A Dead Mother. An arraignment in court goes off the rails after Jim Harper’s Bel Air mansion is trashed and a man is left fighting for his life. Jessica’s love life almost veers off track, too, as she struggles to balance job, family, sleuthing, and her attraction to Attorney Paul Worthington and Detective Frank Fontana. When the body of a prominent member of the Palm Desert community is found dead on the side of the road, Jessica gives up hope that this year will be better than the last.

It’s a three-ring-circus of calamities as Jessica and her friends get pulled into another whirlwind whodunit. There are plenty of well-heeled heels to choose from among the suspects with murderous motives: love, lust, lucre, and loathing.

The Case of the Lovable Labs Has Launched

Hi, folks,

I hope your weekend is off to a great start!

I just wanted to let you know that The Case of the Lovable Labs, Book #12 in The Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries launched this morning as the #1 Dog Breed book on Amazon, knocking Book #11, The Case of the Klutzy King Charles out of that coveted spot.

Here’s the link in case you haven’t picked up your copy yet: http://amzn.to/2xKMp9d

As always, I want to thank all of you for your ongoing support. I also want to thank J.R. Miller for the use of another of his fantastic photographs and Reggie Cullen for another incredible cover.

I hope you enjoy the new one and stay tuned for Book #13, The Case of the Mellow Maltese, the book that will mark the official halfway point of the series. It will launch sometime in late October.

Until then, I hope you have a great time with The Case of the Lovable Labs.

One wedding, two murders, three of the most adorable Labrador puppies Suzy and Josie have ever seen, and a wide variety of suspects provide the foundation for The Case of the Lovable Labs, Book #12 in the increasingly popular, Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries.

It’s wedding time for Sammy and Jill, two of the Inn’s most important staff members, and it should be a joyous time for them as well as their friends and families. But when the boyfriend of Jill’s mother drops dead while giving his toast during the rehearsal dinner, things take a turn for the worse in a hurry. And when a second body is found after the reception, it becomes clear that the two murders are definitely connected, and a whole host of suspects are soon lined up directly in Suzy’s sights.

At the top of the list are Jill’s sister, her maid of honor who’s taking her responsibilities way too seriously, and her mother, a woman with a few serious issues of her own. Also on Suzy’s list are two of Jill’s aunts who have a fondness for Kamikazes, and like the maid of honor and her mother, were previously romantically involved with the first victim. And just when Suzy and Chief Abrams begin to narrow their search for the killer, the second victim is discovered, and it’s back to square one.

Further complicating things is the tension between the maid of honor and Josie, as well as between Suzy and her mother who is convinced that her daughter has finally gone off the deep end. And when Suzy puts herself in an extremely dangerous situation, she provides her mom, along with everyone else, with more than enough ammunition to prove the point.

The Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries features two of the smartest and funniest lead female protagonists to hit the cozy mystery scene in a very long time, and Suzy and Josie’s affection for food and their boundless love and devotion to their dogs puts this new series in the don’t miss category. The Case of the Lovable Labs is the latest installment in this fast-paced and funny series that affectionately focuses on dogs, food, and the natural beauty of the Thousand Islands region.

She wasn’t swimming in the wine vat, she was dead!

When Angela, the beloved award-winning winemaker at the Moretti Winery, is found floating face down in a wine vat, law enforcement authorities are suspicious about the cause of her death. Was it murder or a tragic accident?

If it’s murder, who did it? Was it her husband, Matteo, the winemaker at a nearby winery, jealous because his wife’s wines always received the top awards and best ratings? Was it his employer, Carlos Romano, the owner of the nearby winery, because his wines always placed second to those made by Angela? Or could it have been Carlos’ niece, Alessandra, who had romantic fantasies about Matteo even though he was married to Angela? Or even Signora Moretti, suspicious there was more to her husband and Angela’s relationship than business. And then there was Caitlin, the ambitious master’s degree student who was an intern at the Moretti Winery and wanted Angela’s job.

Mike Reynolds, an Oregon county sheriff, and his wife, Kelly, decide to take a short vacation to Sonoma, California, where they were meeting their daughter and her husband for some wine tasting. Because of a sick child, they have to return home to Calico Gold, so Kelly and Mike have some extra time on their hands and offer to help the local sheriff determine if Angela’s death was murder or an accident.

Here’s a three-book box set from bestselling author Stacey Alabaster. If you like a little craft with your cozy, this is for you!

HE UNCOVERS a 50-year feud between twin sisters – one a screen siren from the days of silent movies, the other the haughty wife of an aristocrat. BUT COLIN’S investigation spirals out of control – as he RISKS HIS LIFE to land the biggest story of his career. STOP PRESS MURDER, a Swinging Sixties mystery, has more twists and turns than a country lane. It will keep you guessing – and laughing – right to the last page.

Southerners keep their secrets swept under the rug, but what happens when that rug goes up for sale?

Bestselling author Berlye Stone, the most famous citizen to ever come out of Cottonwood, Kentucky, has died and put all her worldly possessions up for auction, but not without leaving one more manuscript behind.

A hidden tell-all about Cottonwood that’s got more gossip than a ladies’ luncheon.

When Beryle’s assistant turns up with an ax in her back and the only witness is in a coma, Sheriff Kenni Lowry reckons someone in town will do anything to keep the manuscript from seeing the light of day.

Her poppa’s ghost returns to help piece together the life of the Beryle he once knew, but his memory’s a little foggy, and any misstep could cause them a world of trouble.

With the help of Deputy Finn Vincent, can Kenni sort through the secrets buried in Beryle’s books, or will this be her final chapter?

Pick up AX TO GRIND–you’ll love this cozy because a pop of paranormal makes this charmer of a humorous Southern mystery a real page-turner.

20 and Counting

Hi folks,

The latest installment in The Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries, is now available for pre-order on Amazon. You can grab your copy here: http://amzn.to/2xKMp9d

It’s Book #12 in the series and is called, The Case of the Lovable Labs and I think fans of the Doggy Inn series are going to enjoy it.

It’s also my twentieth book, something I consider to be both a milestone and a minor miracle. I’m pretty fortunate to be able to have a job that basically entails me thinking up a bunch of goofy stuff and writing it down. And for your ongoing support and encouragement, I continue to be extremely grateful.

Here are the cover and summary for The Case of the Lovable Labs.

Happy reading!
