New Doggy Inn Book Launching Friday!

Hi, folks.

I hope you’re all doing well!

I just wanted to let you know that the latest book in my Thousand Islands Doggy Inn mysteries is launching on Friday, November 30th.

It’s called The Case of the Unfettered Utonagan and I think you’re going to enjoy it.

Here’s a bit about what you can expect:

With Suzy about to give birth to her daughter, her ability to perform basic physical movement is severely limited. But her neurons are firing on all cylinders and kick into overdrive when Dr. Jeremy Peters, the eccentric ex-boyfriend of the new veterinarian they’ve just hired, is found dead at a remote hunting lodge. And when they discover a collection of wolf-dog hybrids in cages, a research-interest of the dead scientist, Suzy and Josie find themselves with another problem: What do you do with two dozen hybrids who can’t live on their own in the wild, but aren’t domesticated enough to be eligible for adoption?

As various versions of the dead scientist’s will surface, the situation turns murky as Suzy and Chief Abrams, along with Detective Williams from the state police, try to identify the murderer from a list of suspects, all potential beneficiaries of Peters’ estate, that includes the scientist’s wife, his brother, his research assistant and one of the major investors in whatever ‘research’ the scientist’s primary focus actually is. And the fact their new vet is also listed as a beneficiary adds another level of complexity and uncertainty to the question of the killer’s identity.

The Case of the Unfettered Utonagan is the latest installment in B.R. Snow’s popular Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries and contains all the elements readers have come to expect and enjoy. Set against the backdrop of one of the beautiful spots on earth, all the major characters are back and in fine form as Suzy’s latest challenge unfolds. And by the time the case is wrapped up, Suzy and the gang are left wondering about what the future holds for all of us, including the dogs.

Celebrating Veterans Day

Hi, folks.

My friend and author, Grey Hoover, is celebrating Veterans Day by doing a special tribute to veterans of the China-Burma-India theater. As such, his e-book Kicker (The Forgotten Front) is free today on Amazon.

I’ve read it and highly recommend it to everyone. Click the link below the book cover and grab yourself a copy. You won’t be disappointed.

And to all our veterans, living or now passed, we continue to honor you and thank you for your outstanding service!

World War II is raging. A young father must choose between his family and duty to his country- a decision that could cost him everything.

Based on actual experiences of United States veterans and official military aviation history records from World War II, this is the thrilling story of a family’s journey into war. While his loved ones struggle with shortages and rationing at home, Sam endures relentless Japanese attacks against his unarmed aircraft over the treacherous mountains and torrid jungles of Asia. His job is to drop supplies to Merrill’s Marauders and over 750,000 allied soldiers fighting in the perilous jungles of Burma. If the enemy is not stopped, the American way of life will end.

If you like non-stop action with a touch of humor and romance and the chance to learn about the “forgotten front” of WWII, then this is the book for you.

***

R Grey Hoover is an Air Force veteran with a family tradition of military service that dates back to the American revolution. He wrote his book “Kicker the forgotten front” to honor his father and the other veterans of World War II who fought in the China-Burma-India (CBI) theatre. During the war, the European and Pacific theatres got most of the supplies and media attention leaving the CBI theatre with the leftovers. Even in today’s media coverage of World War II the CBI theatre is never mentioned. The author’s book is an attempt to correct this gross oversight.

Thanksgiving is approaching and Suzy and the gang are preparing for their annual dinner at the restaurant as well as dealing with the onset of winter. And when Suzy and the Chief spot what they believe is a bear cub on a local island, they’re drawn into a bizarre and dangerous situation involving a crime ring operating in the area that is smuggling people across the border from Canada. And when the bear cub turns out to be an enormous Tibetan Mastiff, it soon becomes apparent they are dealing with a ‘blast from the past.’

Doing everything she can to remain on her best behavior and keep her mother from going off the planet, Suzy, at first, remains on the periphery of the investigation. But she is increasingly unable to stay on the sidelines as events heat up and become even more bizarre. And when things turn personal, she simply can’t help herself and is determined to help the Chief and the FBI put a stop to the human trafficking ring as well as deliver some well-deserved justice to a dognapper.

With a cast of characters that includes Rooster’s cousin, Walter, a man with bad vision and a propensity to consistently do the wrong thing, and two FBI agents, one who finds Suzy’s ‘snooping’ most annoying, the Case of the Tenacious Tibetan ramps us quickly as the gang tries to solve a complex puzzle while dealing with frigid boat rides and an early winter storm.

Suzy Gets Married

Hi, folks.

I hope everything is going well for you and your family and friends!

I thought I’d let you know about a few new things I’m working on as well as tell you about Dianne Harman’s new book. As you know, Dianne, a two time USA Today Best Selling Author, is a good friend who continues to be a highly successful and prolific author of terrific cozy mysteries.

First, my new book, The Case of the Salubrious Soft Coated Wheaten, book #19 in my Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries launched earlier this week and continues to be the #1 New Release in Dog Breeds on Amazon. I’d like to thank all of you for your ongoing support!

Here’s some information about the book.

Get the book here

It’s wedding week and big changes are in the air.

And since change has never been one of Suzy’s strong points, she’s on edge and often grumpy until Josie and Chef Claire sit her down for a little chat. One of the major changes, apart from those her upcoming nuptials will create, is the fact that Chef Claire and Josie are moving down the street into a new house.

Just when it appears that Suzy has dealt with her moodiness and melancholy, they discover the body of the ninety-two-year-old man Josie bought the house from. At first, Charlie Merrihew’s death appears accidental, but when Suzy and Chief Abrams start piecing things together, it soon becomes apparent the old man, an avid collector of antiquities and war memorabilia, was murdered.

Suzy and the Chief flounder at first given the apparent lack of a motive. But when an antique, priceless dagger is discovered, along with the old man’s will, the list of suspects grows in a hurry. Charlie’s two kids, both childhood friends of Suzy, are in town for her wedding, and many others from the Merrihew clan are also in Clay Bay for a family get-together. There’s no love lost between most of them and their contempt for Charlie was strong. As such, there is no shortage of suspects, including Suzy’s lifelong friends, a possibility that threatens to send her into another tailspin. The investigation continues as the wedding creeps closer and Suzy does everything she can to balance both without sending her mother into orbit.

The Case of the Salubrious Soft Coated Wheaten is the most emotional series installment to date, and by the time readers finish, they will have been taken on a roller-coaster ride of highs and lows as Suzy and the rest of the Clay Bay gang are confronted with a stark reminder: When it comes to life, there are no dress rehearsals.

Also, coming in August is the first book in the Doggy Inn spin-off series featuring Josie and Chef Claire as they travel the world in search of great food and cooking techniques. The first installment is called The Case of Italian Indigestion and I think you’re going to enjoy it. It will be going up for pre-order in the near future so keep an eye out for it.

Here’s a sneak peek at the cover.

Dianne Harman’s latest book, the ninth book in her Liz Lucas Cozy Mystery Series, is called Murdered by Superstition and it’s on sale for $2.99 thru 7/31, then will go to $3.99.

Murdered by Superstition: Get the book here

It was just a doll, wasn’t it?

It didn’t have powers, did it?

Powers that could kill?

New Orleans is famous for its pralines, beignets, jazz, Bourbon Street, and the French Quarter. But there’s a darker side to the Big Easy, one that involves voodoo and gris-gris.

Nicole Rogers recently moved to Red Cedar from New Orleans. She’d lost weight, became engaged, and had a new job as the manager of a local bank in the small town. But when she found voodoo dolls in her gym locker, work desk, and on her front porch, she was scared. She knew what receiving the dolls meant – someone wanted to hurt her or kill her, and she was right. A few days later, Nicole’s body was found on her front porch with a voodoo doll next to it. She’d been murdered.

What is the connection between Nicole’s murder and the voodoo dolls? Liz Lucas, an amateur sleuth, is determined to find the connection and catch the killer. While on a trip to New Orleans to attend a cooking school known for its Cajun-Creole style of cooking, she learns a lot from a gris-gris doctor who specializes in voodoo, hexes, spells, and superstitions.

But who would want to kill Nicole? Was it the bank employee Nicole fired? What about Nicole’s sister, who had legally changed her name to Marie Leveau (the Queen of Voodoo in New Orleans)? Or Candace Norgan, the woman her fiancé dropped when he fell in love with Nicole? Or even Maddie, Nicole’s friend and the Assistant Manager at the bank?

Join Liz and her dog Winston as they search for the killer.

As always, plenty of mouth-watering recipes!

Whiskey Run Chronicles – Available for Pre-Order

Hi, folks.

I just wanted to let you know that Volume 2 (Episodes 8-14) of The Whiskey Run Chronicles is available for pre-order. The book will launch on May 2nd, and I think you’re going to enjoy the latest exploits of Milo Razner and the rest of the gang you got to know in Volume 1.

PreOrder Here

“Milo Razner is back, and back with a vengeance, in Volume 2 of The Whiskey Run Chronicles, B.R. Snow’s outstanding series on bootlegging during Prohibition on the U.S. Canadian border.”

The bootlegging business is booming and Milo has his eye on expansion, but when Jimmy Sleaze, a former partner in crime, arrives in town, Milo’s plans are forced to take a backseat until he can figure out what to do with the interloper who’s threatening to put a serious crimp in his operation. In addition to The Sleaze, Milo is also dealing with several other problems including what to do about the unhappy ex-couple Ruby and Billy Crankovitch, how to keep getting booze across the border in the middle of winter without killing himself in the process, as well as how to help two politicians manage their careers and help Milo out in the process.

But those problems also go on the back burner when an undercover agent from the Prohibition Unit shows up in town threatening to put Milo and his colleagues away for a very long time. And all of Milo’s creativity and cunning are put to the test as he is forced to juggle a seemingly endless list of problems that would drive a lesser man to drink.

All the characters from the first installment in the series are back and up to their old tricks, and by the time Volume 2 wraps up, readers will have been on taken a wild ride that will leave them scratching their heads about Milo’s ability to think his way through a complex set of challenges and laughing out loud. Written in standalone episodes set inside an enormous overall story arc that continues to unfold, The Whiskey Run Chronicles is an inventive, character-driven series that captures the essence of the Prohibition era and the hypocrisy that surrounded it. Add in B.R. Snow’s ability to create complex storylines and his skill at writing dialogue that jumps off the page and you have something very special.

As readers have been saying, all of the combined elements make The Whiskey Run Chronicles a smart and very funny series that is unique and a total joy to read. As such, this is one series that needs to be on everyone’s Must Read list.

“Put your feet up with The Whiskey Run Chronicles in hand, pour yourself a glass of your favorite beverage, and savor both!”

What’s In The News?

Hi, folks.

Thanks again for all your helping The Case of the Quizzical Queens Beagle hit the #1 Dog Breed slot on Amazon. Your support and encouragement continues to amaze me!

I just thought I’d let you know what to expect from me next as well as let you know about a couple of new titles from some author friends whose work I enjoy.

First of all, you can expect to see two new books of mine launching in May. One is book #18 in The Thousand Islands Doggy Inn Mysteries and here’s a sneak preview of the cover, another great creation from the combined work of JR Miller, photographer extraordinaire, and Reggie Cullen, my cover artist who makes my jaw drop every time I see his latest work.

Suzy and the gang are in Vegas for her bachelorette party when a few things, as you might expect, get a little weird.

The second book that will be launched in May is the second season of The Whiskey Run Chronicles. Many of you have been emailing me asking when it’s coming out, and I thought it was time to let you know.

You’ll be pleased to know that Milo is up to his old tricks, but this season he’s dealing with a whole lot of layers of intrigue and potential problems.

Dianne Harman, USA Today and Amazon Chart #1 Bestselling Author, has just released the sixth book in her Northwest Cozy Mystery Series. I just started it last night, and I’m sure it’s going to be another great read.

Get it here!

When Philippe Germain, the owner of a prestigious Seattle art gallery, woke up, he didn’t know he’d be dead in a few hours.

Do you have a photographic memory? What would you do if you were in Provence, France, and happened to see the same painting for sale by the same artist that your best friend had just bought from a gallery in Seattle?

That’s DeeDee’s predicament. Join her, along with her significant other, Jake, a private detective, and her husky dog, Balto, as they search for the murderer of a well-respected Pioneer Square art dealer, but did he have secrets?

There’s no lack of suspects. Could it have been the gallery owner’s French wife, who is also his nephew’s lover? Or the nephew who owns a gallery in Provence? What about the struggling artist who had a gift for reproducing famous artists’ works? Maybe even the young retired Microsoft millionaire who had bought many paintings from the gallery? And what about DeeDee and Jake’s friend, ex-mobster Al De Duco, who had also bought a painting from the gallery?

You can enjoy this book for free with Kindle Unlimited!
