Apple Cake
I simply must document here the HEAVENLY apple cake that I baked in the rice cooker yesterday. T & I relished it w black coffee from Benguet. According to her, this cake, out of everything I’ve made so far, takes the cake (she’s so funny). What’s more, this is my very own recipe

Ang Sabi Nila
Itinanghal noong Hunyo 22, 2019 sa FullyBooked BGC bilang pagdiriwang sa Pride. Posting it here in celebration of IDAHOT2020. Pagkakataon din itong magsulat tungkol sa sariling poetics! Long been meaning to but I always waver. Poetics are for Poets. Magandang gabi po at maraming salamat sa Ang Sabi Nila sa pag-anyaya sa akin na magbasa […]

Pages from my journal
I’m abt to retire my journal of more than a year — 17 months to be exact. I’d hoped to practice my Filipino there, & my first entries were indeed in Filipino, but then I returned to writing freely in English. Happy that I was able to draw a lot more on this journal, though […]

Quarantine Food
In these difficult times I, like many people all over the world, have been inspired/perhaps compelled to cook healthier. Vegan friends who are also active in feeding programs for communities in need inspire me to prepare vegetable dishes most of the time. I also learned to bake & make desserts to satisfy my cravings for […]

Crimson & Clover
I made a comic strip! Not for anything, just for fun. I used to be unsure of comicfying poetry — why need to illustrate a poem if it can stand on its own? was how I thought of it before. But then I saw that it can be done! That “illustrating” the poem is not […]

The Sunday Currently No. 13
How sad that I can only make weekly updates on the blog even when I’m supposed to have all the time in the world. Well, on most days it feels like time passes so quickly (a privilege, I know)! But Sidda Thornton’s The Sunday Currently, a set of list posts with action verb prompts, is […]

Cookies
Experimented on making cookies in the rice cooker while on a break from embroidering (I am such a domestic goddess these days, haha). Again, it worked! Even substituted flax seeds for eggs (1 Tbs flax seeds + 3 Tbs water = 1 egg). So if I hadn’t used butter, the cookies cld’ve been vegan. Recipe […]

Mental Map of Visual Influences 2
I thought I’d make another mental map of visual influences, after the first one I’d drawn up six years ago. Those influences still hold, but I suppose I’ve grown some ever since working more intensely on books & women’s art in Gantala Press, & of course curating some museum/library exhibitions professionally, & encountering a lot […]
