Mae Clair: The Next Big Thing Reprise

So, here it is almost two full weeks since L.J. Kentowski tagged me in the Next Big Thing Blog Hop, and I’ve had the distinct honor of being tagged again by Sheri de Grom. If you don’t know Sheri, I suggest you hasten over to her blog pronto and become acquainted. Not only is she a writer and reviewer of women’s fiction, but she is also an advocate for mental health, Medicare reform and Veteran’s rights. In addition, she’s one of the most candid and giving people I’ve met online. Thank you, S...

Mae Clair: Silver and a Rockin’ Review

Happy Friday! Can you believe the week warped past at light-speed? At least it seemed that way to me. Probably because I had one of those just-aren’t-enough-hours-in-the-day weeks. I have a lot of those lately, but this one pushed the boundaries of overload. I did, however, have two really nice surprises amid all of the bounce-of-the-wall craziness.

Chapter One - SilverWEATHERING ROCK was a Silver Finalist in Cheryl Bradshaw’s First Chapter contest. Each month, Cheryl accepts fifty entries from which she chooses...

Mae Clair’s Mythical Monday: Yule Log Superstitions & Customs

It’s now officially December and only a few weeks from Christmas.

Given the festivities of the month ahead, I thought I’d use this Mythical Monday to look at superstitions related to the Yule log. Who doesn’t love to see the warm amber glow of firelight flooding from a hearth and hear the crackle of wood?

No fireplace? No worries. For the last several years, most cable-TV providers have made it possible to dial up a virtual Yule log for your HD flatscreen. Pretty snazzy, but how did it all star...

Weathering Rock300dpi finalGuess what? I’m sharing my tag line for WEATHERING ROCK with the world today at the Log Line Blog. It doesn’t get any simpler than that.

If you get a chance, please hop over and leave me a comment, even if it’s just to drop by and say ‘”hey.”

Commenting will enter you in the Log Line Blog’s monthly drawing for a $20 Amazon gift card....

“Boardwalk Empire” meets “The Great Gatsby” in this soft-boiled historical mystery, inspired by actual events. Rival gangs fight over booze and bars during Prohibition in 1920s Galveston: the “Sin City of the Southwest.” Jazz Cross, a 21-year-old society reporter, feels caught between two clashing cultures: the seedy speakeasy underworld and the snooty social circles she covers in the Galveston Gazette.

During a night out with her best friend, Jazz witnesses a b...

Mae Clair: The Next Big Thing

I’m jazzed today because it’s my turn to participate in the Next Big Thing Blog Hop. I was tagged by the very talented L.J. Kentowski who writes steamy kick-butt urban fantasy. Her new novel, SEEKER OF FATE, (book two in the FATE SERIES) will be releasing next month. In the meantime, you can familiarize yourself with her characters and cool world mythology by reading book one, GUARDIAN OF FATE. It rocks!

As for the NBT hop, writers answer a series of questions related to their current WIP, the...
