Hump Day Steals & Deals – November 18, 2020
I’m trying to decide which cover I like best, and I really can’t! I do have to shout out for D.M. Davis’s Rowdy, though. There’s something so sensually enticing about water droplets on a slick black surface…

Have you met the King of F*ck? Read on to find out why that’s such an ironic moniker!
… and from that spark of an idea, the Dirtiest Trilogy was born.

Though I didn’t realize it at the time, the core idea for this series had probably been in my head since I was a kid reading the Flowers in the Attic series. Goodness knows there are some parallels. (Wealth, brother/sister, abuse/torture).
At the same time, it was different on so many levels. But at its core, the Dirtiest books are romance. Epic romance, in fact, as from the get go, it seems as if there is simply no way these characters could be together. (If you haven’t checked out the books, I promise you it all works out…it is a romance trilogy after all!).
I also wanted to explore some ground I hadn’t seen in a romance. Dallas is, I think, one of the hottest heroes I’ve written. And yet …. Since this is spoiler territory, I’m making the text white. You’ll need to highlight between the asterisks to learn the secret: **Although Dallas is known as the King of Fuck, that’s a fiction. Not only because he’s not really the party-guy he pretends to be, he also isn’t doing the deed with anyone. Not really. Dallas has erectile disfunction issues that are very much tied to the backstory and the core damage in the story.** I thought it would be hard writing a book that dealt with the issue, but I absolutely loved writing Dallas and Jane. They burst onto the page. And, in fact, they are still around as they have sidled their way into Stark World and often appear in my Stark Security books!
Here’s a bit about Dallas and the trilogy. If you haven’t read them yet, I hope you dive in!
You can find Book One, Dirtiest Secret, here:

OTHER VENDORS AND AUDIO LINKS HERE!
And be sure not to miss the trailer!Dallas Sykes is a man who drives fast, plays hard, and spends money at the rate most people drink water. He’s partied with princes, gotten drunk with film stars, and more often than not has more than one woman in his bed. He’s forever appearing on the pages of tabloids, both in the US and in Europe, and the only time he’s not front and center in social media is when he’s disappeared. Even then, the speculation follows him. Rehab? Jail? Or maybe a decadent tryst with a married woman. Or two.
That’s the Dallas that the world knows.
But that Dallas isn’t real. He’s a mask. A fiction. A carefully crafted persona designed to hide the real Dallas Skyes. A man with dark secrets and a painful past. A man who longs to fix what cannot be fixed. A man whose heart and soul belong to a woman he cannot have. A woman who once upon a time ran to him for comfort, but now goes out of her way to avoid him.
He couldn’t have her. He shouldn’t want her.
But sometimes, temptation is hard to resist…
And if you want to listen to me reading Chapter One aloud, check out this video!

Such great deals this week! Not just on a Stark World book, but I adore Aleatha’s Consequences series and very recently got sucked into Desperate Measures. I bet you will, too! Monica Murphy is an awesome writer, and this holiday story looks positively awesome! Everything does. My e-reader runneth over!
Thanks for stopping by!
p.s. — while the deals are deals when we check this page, things are subject to change. If something has gone back to it’s original price, sorry about that!

I’ve stocked up my e-reader! How about you? I’m so excited by all of these books, especially the holiday-themed ones as I’m in a mood this year to watch lots of holiday movies and read lots of holiday books. I’m also thrilled to have all of the Driven trilogy in one handy place! Ann Aguirre’s books have been tops of my list for a long time, and Willow Winters is a solid auto-buy. I can’t wait to check out R.S. Grey’s release, which I recently saw featured on Vilma Iris’s The Weekly Edit blog — and knew I had to grab!
Hope you find a book (or books!) here that catch your eye. What the heck, grab them all, right?

Check out these great deals! Vote Then Read is especially awesome, and not just because I’m in Volume 3! There are forty-three authors for less than three dollars! Plus, the proceeds go to a great cause — wildfire relief in California, Oregon, Washington, and Colorado. So grab and enjoy … but get them before November 8!
And you definitely don’t want to miss Toni Anderson’s Cold Justice box set … an awesome series and this volume is FREE!!!!!
I have an extra-special place in my heart for Darcy Burke’s The Red Hot Earl! Click the link to go to Darcy’s page, scroll down, and you can hear my daughter singing to the tune of Rudolf the Red-Nosed Reindeer! Lyrics by Darcy!
I could go on about all these books, but I’ll just add that I had to grab a copy of Paris Time Capsule. I was supposed to have been in Paris this summer. (Sigh. Covid. Sigh.)
And The Murder of the Century caught my eye for two reasons — first, I love the movie Heavenly Creatures. And second, I’m a huge fan of Anne Perry’s Inspector Pitt series. If that doesn’t mean anything to you, well, trust me. They’re all related!

I hope you check out some of the Featured New Releases! I’ve not read all of them — yet — but they are all on my device, and I can’t wait to dive in! Of course, there were a LOT of other amazing books released this week, but I can’t feature them all!
These were chosen by me for various reasons. Maybe the plot or the cover appealed to me. (Sawyer’s … OMG, LOVE!) Maybe I heard the buzz on social media. Maybe I know the author and have insight into the story behind the book!
A Fun Story:The latter is true in the case of A Very Highland Holiday. Darcy Burke wrote The Legend of A Rogue, one of the novellas in the collection, and not too long ago we were both talking about our holiday novellas … and the movie that inspired them! Mine will be featured next week (Cherish Me, a Stark Ever After romance) but if you’ve seen me talk about it on-line you know that I drew a lot on one of my favorite holiday movies (and I stand by my claim that it is a holiday movie!).
Darcy used the same movie! And just to give you a clue … Yippee-kai-yay …. If that means something to you in the context of Christmas, then you know the movie! (Okay, here’s another … Darcy’s hero calls himself John MacLean…). If those clues mean nothing — well, it doesn’t matter at all! Trust me, you still want to read these novellas!
Blast From the Past:Alyssa Day and I go way back to our days at Dorchester (my superhero series!). She writes fabulous paranormal romances, and how can I resist a vampire motorcycle club?
A New Discovery:I’m especially excited about Scarlett Cole’s Love In Numbers. This book is a bit of a cheat as it should have been featured last week, but this blog category was in the process of being re-vamped. But I’m including it as a “new(ish)” title because I’m thrilled to share that Scarlett will be featured next week as my 1001 Dark Nights Discovery Author! Yay!
You can’t go wrong with any of these books. Enjoy!
And thanks for stopping by!
