A Mouse's House

     Right now and for the next few weeks I'm working on finishing the final artwork for "After Happily Ever After" by Katie Cotton. Here's a cropped corner section of one of the pages. 

Cinderella, After Happily Ever After

             At the moment I'm really excited to be illustrating a very funny novelty book for Templar Books called "After Happily Ever After". It's a spin-off Cinderella tale with letters to open by an author called Katie Cotton. So far it's very fun. Below are some character sketches and a cover rough. (Click on the sketches to get a proper look). It'll be out in late 2014. 

The Powers, advance copies

      Some lovely advance copies of "The Powers - The Not-so-Super Superheroes" by Kevin Stevens (illustrations by me) arrived from Little Island on Saturday. Because I have a dog now, all of my facebook posts revolve around her in some way. I've become the equivalent of a Baby Bore. I'm a Doggie Bore, you might say. But where credit is due, she's very advanced for her age, streets ahead of other dogs of the same age. It must be all those Puppy Einstein videos she's been watching. I didn't even make her pose for the top photo or anything, she's just so clever and well-read. Obviously.

Arrivederci Bruno and Titch, see you next August

           I handed the artwork for Book 2 into Walker Books last week. I'm about 100% happier with how this one went, in terms of the process, the illustration and the story. This whole book-making thing does get easier it seems. Here's a photo of one of the spreads that Walker tweeted the other day:

Sandra's Legacy

    After years of waiting for the right time, myself and Mick have finally adopted a dog a couple of weeks ago. She's a 4 year old racing greyhound called Sandy (her racing name was Sandra's Legacy) whose days of rabbit-chasing are behind her. Here she is in repose, enjoying a pig's ear. Those are her two favourite things I reckon (repose and pigs ears).

Bruno and Titch

This is the last picture I'm posting from Bruno and Titch. I'm working full-time on finishing the artwork at the moment, which is going smoothly enough (*searches around for wood to touch*).  I had lots of fun drawing these comic-style panels. Click on the picture for a better view.
