Illustration Cupboard
It's quite thrilling to be able to post this screenshot, an illustration of mine will be shown at one of my longtime favourite London galleries,
The Illustration Cupboard
, Bury St., which is a fantastic gallery devoted entirely to children's illustration.
It's this Wednesday the 16th April from 5:30pm so drop in if you're in the area. It's an exhibition of work by Niamh Sharkey (Laureate na nÓg) along with some selected
Illustrators Ireland
members, among them PJ Lynch and Alan Clarke. Here's some more information. All work is for sale.

After Happily Ever After - Cinderella's Big Day
This Cinderella fairytale spin-off novelty book which I recently illustrated is coming out in the autumn (Templar Publishing) and I'm really excited about it. It was great fun to work on, it's really a great little book, if I may say so (I'm allowed to say that because I didn't write it, Katie Cotton did).
This isn't the publisher's final cover yet but I'll post when I get it. Click to see it in detail.

Powers - Dublin and Waterford
Just back from a week in Ireland promoting The Powers - Not-so-Super Superheroes with the author Kevin Stevens. The book was chosen as the UNESCO Dublin Citywide Read so there are stacks in all the libraries at home.
I spotted a lovely display of The Powers and Bye-Bye Baby Brother! in the local bookshop in Waterford City...
...and a lovely Powers display with poster in the window of Hodges Figgis.
I met so many brilliant, funny, enthusiastic kids. We did workshops in Merrion Square for the Paddy's Day Festival as well as talks in Waterford as part of Waterford Writer's Weekend and I did some library visits around Dublin city. I forgot to take photos of the kids doing their fantastic drawings but here is one picture of a drawing that a dedicated young illustrator called Jack drew for me. We did a swap in the end. BOOM! What great skills.
I'm really looking forward to illustrating the sequel to The Powers in the autumn, I've heard it said on the grapevine that dogs feature heavily. What could be more fun.

Commissions
A couple of weeks before Christmas I put a call out for some private commissions. Here is a selection of them...
1. For a pair of little superhero fans
2. A family portrait featuring some deadly funghi
3. An illustration for a Stoneybatter-dwelling couple who were getting married around Christmastime
4. An illustration for writer Dee Sullivan featuring her guinea pigs William and Theo
5. One for a little girl and her dog
6. One for a pair of kids and their dad
Just a reminder that I'm available to do this kind of thing all year round, just send me photos and a little description of the people (or animals) involved.
