Gratitude As The Antedote To Holiday Judgment
Have you ever noticed how much judgment there is around the holidays? Yes, judgment occurs all the time, but it seems to escalate at Christmas. ‘Did I buy the right presents? Did I spend enough? Did I spend too much? I’ve probably gained 5 pounds with how much I’ve been eating. I drank way too much at the staff Christmas party. My sister bought better presents than me.’ The litany of judgments can be endless.
What if you could make this season the season you stop judging and being hard on you? What if, rather than choosing judgment, comparison and financial stress, you chose to celebrate what you have created? Even better, celebrate with the people you are grateful for!
Gratitude is the anecdote for judgment. The two cannot exist at the same time. If you would like to have a joyful holiday season, one full of playfulness and celebration, start by choosing gratitude.
Gratitude for YOU
Have you said, “Thank you” to you lately? Have you acknowledged the gift you are in the world?
My friend and the founder of Access Consciousness, Gary Douglas, asks these questions:
What if you were willing to nurture and care for you?
What if you would open the doors to being everything you have decided it is not possible to be?
What would it take for you to realize how crucial you are to the possibilities of the world?
Celebrating the holidays, celebrating life, celebrating you, starts with acknowledging the gift of you.
Gratitude for What You Have Created
During the holiday season, people often get stressed about their finances. More money can be spent at this time of year than at any other time, and rather than having the joy of gifting, the joy of generosity of spirit, there can be a lot of angst. In the midst of anxiety and upset over money, we start to focus on what we don’t have.
There is another choice available. Instead of focusing on what you don’t have or what you can’t buy, start to look at everything that you have created. YOU are the source for the creation of your life. What magical and miraculous things have come to BE through YOU?
Gratitude for the People in Your Life
Who are you grateful for? What gift and contribution are the people in your life? How about making time to celebrate the holidays with THOSE people?
When you surround yourself with people who contribute to you, people that you have huge gratitude for, your joy increases. Their joy increases. Gratitude exponentialises. Joy exponentialises.
In that space of gratitude and joy, judgment dissolves. It no longer matters who bought the best gift. It no longer matters how you look in that dress. All that remains is the child-like wonder of “What else is possible?”

No One Should Have A Money Problem - Especially Not You!
Is money a source of frustration for you? Does it seem like you have more bills to pay than money coming in to pay them? Are there things you want to do and don’t do because you can’t afford to? What if I told you that you could have an entirely different possibility with money?
I was $187,000 in debt and I really had nothing to show for it. Within two years of using the simple pragmatic tools I learned from Access Consciousness I completely turned my money situation around. When I say that no one should have a money problem, I know it’s true. If you are willing to have a look at where you are currently functioning from with money and choose something else, you can create whatever it is you desire.
Here are a few of the simple tools I used that took me from debt to millions. Want to know the best part? It can be fun and not nearly as hard as you might think.
You are the Source for the Creation of Money in your Life.
I would really like you to get this. When you are willing to be everything that you are, you become an infinitely creative source for everything in your life – including money.
There are so many concepts about money that have been impelled on us. From our parents, our teachers, our culture, our friends. What if money is not what you have bought, been told, sold or taught that it is?
If you would be willing to approach money with a sense of light-hearted playfulness, if you could be curious and questioning about it, if you would acknowledge that YOU are the source for the creation of money and your life, you will begin to change your financial reality right away.
Change your Point of View
How many points of view do you have about money? Your point of view creates your reality. If you desire to have a different reality, be willing to change your points of view. If you have decided that you have to work hard for money, guess what? You will work hard for every dollar that comes in.
What if money could come to you easily? What if you were able to receive money from many places? What points of view about money would you have to lose in order to create that with ease?
To change your points of view about money, use this tool. For every point of view that you notice, say, “Interesting point of view, I have that point of view.” As you say this, you will notice that all of those points of view that you have made, real, true and significant become simply interesting. And when they are simply interesting, you are free to let them go and choose another perspective.
Ask Questions Continuously
People make statements about money continuously, but very few ask questions. If you desire something greater with your finances, ask questions continuously. Many of us were told not to talk about money when we were growing up. Many of us were told we asked too many questions and urged to stop. Questions are actually the beginning of change. They open the door to new possibilities and take you beyond anything you’ve considered possible up until this point.
Start to ask questions like, “What else is possible here?” Or, how many revenue streams could I create?” And, “If I knew I couldn’t fail, what would I choose?”
As you ask questions your sense of what’s possible will become greater and when your sense of what’s possible becomes greater, your money will too.
No one should have a money problem – especially not you. YOU are the source of the creation of your money and of your life. Acknowledge this. Own it. Be willing to let go of the points of view that you have adopted from others that are limiting your money. Ask questions every single day. A new reality with money is not far from you. Will you choose it? Will you ask for it? Will you receive it?

How I Paid Off an $187,000 Debt in 2 Years
14 years ago, I had businesses, I travelled the world and I truly desired to contribute to the planet. I was also $187,000 in debt, with nothing much to show for it.
Then I met a man who changed my life. At the time, I had a business called “Good Vibes For You”. I was running a stall at a Mind, Body and Spirit Festival in Sydney, and we had stickers, badges and t-shirts with positive sayings on it like “be the change you want to see in the world” and “what would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail?”
My friend was working at another stall run by a man called Gary Douglas, and he brought Gary over to say hello. Gary gave me a hug, and I pulled back instantly. He said “You know, you would be a lot better off if you were open to receiving. You’d make a lot more money too!”
I thought “this guy is crazy, what does he mean receiving? I thought I had to give!”
It turns out, Gary was correct. Money, and a lot of other things, can come in to your life when you are willing to receive them. But we aren’t taught about receiving. We don’t talk about it, we don’t even really get what receiving is.
Gary was the first person in my life who spoke about receiving; that being willing to receive was about being yourself, having joy in your life and being willing to receive the abundance of everything – including money. Today, I actually work with Gary as the worldwide co-ordinator for his global company.
Here are four things I learned from him that allowed me to start receiving more money, and many other things in my life, with ease:
1. Receiving isn’t taking. Receiving is as much a gift for the giver as the receiver. Taking is the point of view that when you take the person who gives has less. Giving is the point of view that you give something away. Receiving is a gift for all involved, it’s simultaneous. Have you ever given someone a hug and they fully received it, joyfully? How did it make you and your body feel? Doesn’t your joy increase and your body feel happy? And have you ever given someone a hug and it felt like embracing a brick wall? That’s what non-receiving creates. My father tried to gift me money for years. But I kept saying ‘no, I don’t need your money, I can do it on my own!” I realised at one point, that not allowing him to gift me the money had been an unkindness. When I finally was willing to receive the money he gave me, I saw him changed entirely– he looked 10 years younger, his body totally relaxed. I thought “Wow, I had no idea my unwillingness to receive had affected him so much. What gift would it be in the world if I were willing to receive more?”
2. You actually don’t want money. Most of us believe whole-heartedly that we need and want more money. We say it all the time “I want more money!!!” Did you know that the word ‘want’ actually means ‘to lack’? If you look it up in a dictionary printed prior to 1946 (or look at this online version here), want is defined primarily as meaning ‘to lack’. When you say “I want more money”, you are actually saying “I lack of more money”. The universe hears what you are saying, and delivers exactly that. Every time you catch yourself thinking “I want money”, turn it around and say “I don’t want money” 10 times. The truth is, if you wake up in the morning, you don’t lack of anything. You have everything you need to create all you desire – you.
3. Money Follows Joy. We have all kinds of judgments about money: it’s a solution to problems, it’s difficult to get and it’s easy to lose. None of it is about joy. Now, think about something that is easy and fun for you to do. I love taking my dog for a walk on the beach, for example – it feels great, my dog loves it. Notice how with those things you don’t think about it, you just choose to do it, because it’s fun, because you can? What if money were the same? What if money didn’t make you happy, but your happiness allowed more money in?
4. ASK, and you shall receive! If you desire more of anything, you have to be willing to ask for it. Do you ask for money? Or do you generally avoid talking about it, thinking about it, except when the bills come in? What if you would start practicing asking for the money? Stand in front of the mirror and say 20 times “Can I have the money now please?” Do you have clients who owe you money? What if you would ring them and say “Hi, can I have the money now please?” It’s not always comfortable, but practice makes it easier.
Receiving is a capacity we all have. When I allowed myself to receive more, I was able to get out of my debt in 2 years, whilst simultaneously creating more in every area of my life. What if you could change debt, not from cutting back and lack, but by being willing to receive more, and invite more money into your life, joyfully?

Creating Systems To Exponenialize Your Business
As you may know, there’s been a lot of talk about chaos and order in Access lately. Many of us have had the point of view that chaos is disruptive, disorganized and bad while order is necessary and good. From asking questions and being willing to look from a different perspective, we have come to see that order and chaos are not what we have decided.
Order is everything you were told of what your business should be. It’s all of the points of view of what is required in order to run your business. Order is linear. Order is trying to fit in and do things the same as everybody else.
Order says, you must structure your business this way. You must follow this plan. You must not deviate from the plan. Oh, and it’s going to take a lot of time and will probably be exhausting and difficult.
Then comes chaos. Chaos is living as the question. It’s consciousness. It’s space. It’s receiving. It’s magic and miracles. Chaos is the creative energy of all possibilities.
You cannot change or create a possibility without chaos. Which means, whatever you would like to change in your business, chaos is the impetus.
Would you be willing to instill the chaos into your business that would catapult you into a greater possibility? Into a new reality? Into more than you’ve ever thought possible?
In business, both order and chaos have value. When you use the creative possibility of chaos to open up the space of limitless possibilities and then create the systems that allow your creation to exist with ease in the world, you have the coherence of chaos and order.
When you have the recognition of both order and chaos, (which is coherence), you can use both of them to create. Each one creates a something different. You have to ask, what is required here, order or chaos? Sometimes order is required but not from the judgment or the time or the place of limitation.
When you have the allowance of chaos and not the resistance of order, then you can receive it all and know which one is going to be useful now.
Creating Systems
People often demand and need order. That’s what they are comfortable with. It’s what they know. It’s how they function. How can you use that to your advantage?
When you are willing to use chaos to create the systems that appear to be the order that people are comfortable with, you will exponentialize your business.
Here are three ways that you can use the chaos of creation to create the systems that will exponentialize your business:
Acknowledge that you are the chaos king or queen
How much chaos do you function in? How much have you made yourself wrong for that believing that you should be different because you didn’t fit it? Would you be willing to acknowledge that you are a chaos king or queen? Would you be willing to recognize the tremendous creative capacity that this is?
Now ask, “How can I use this to my advantage?”
Be Willing to Control
How many points of view do you have about control being bad and wrong? Would you be willing to let those go? Control is not the same as controlling. It’s manipulating so that the chaos that creates more can be released.
Would you be willing to create the chaos that others are trying not to have in order for you to have control?
Recognize the value of both order and chaos
What if you let go everything that you’ve concluded about chaos and order? What if you were in total allowance of both? What if you could have a look at what is occurring in your business and ask, “What will be useful now, order or chaos?”
If you will be in allowance of order and chaos, if you will ask and be aware of what is required in each situation, you will control the chaos and the order that will create the systems that will allow change.
You are a creator of magnitude. You have the capacity to create beyond this reality. You are not confined to the order of time and space. Acknowledge your capacity. Ask questions. Be willing to control by being the chaos while implementing the systems that provide the order that others desire and outcreate everything you’ve ever thought was possible!
Warning: You may start to have more fun than you’re supposed to!

How To Start A New Business In Your 50's
If you’ve come up with a fantastic business idea, it’s never too late to start. There are so many possibilities out there, I always say don’t wait for anything. This is your life — not a dry run. Don’t give up your point of view for anyone else’s. However, it helps to know the creative processes and the three energies required for success.
Any business starts with a new idea; that’s the generative energy. It’s the “wow” moment of your life. You get enthusiastic and filled with a sense of infinite possibilities. Some people are great at coming up with ideas for business, but without the other two more elements they could remain just ideas.
To actually bring your fantastic ideas to fruition requires creative energy. Creation is where you continually put energy into your business. You’re constantly looking at things like: who do you have to speak to? Where do you have to be? What money is required? What tools are required? You’re constantly creating, constantly making choices. Every choice you make will create something different.
In business, it’s easier to make choices when you function from what you know. If you are faced with different options and find it difficult to choose, ask yourself: what’s the lightest choice I have here? It may seem a bit strange at first but you’ll know instantly which choice has a sense of lightness and expansiveness to it. Many people make business decisions significant. What if it wasn’t about weighing up what’s going to happen? And you don’t have to get it right. Just because you make a certain choice doesn’t mean you have to stick to it. You can always choose something else.
The third element is instituting or maintaining. It’s what you have to do every day to keep customers coming through the door. Institution doesn’t have to be boring, or static. It actually can expand the business if you’re willing to ask questions, rather than habitually doing the same thing. I work on many different projects and every day I ask, “Which project requires me today? What do I have to institute today?” When you ask a question, you’ll always get the information so you know what to do next. It could be making three phone calls a day. It could be reaching out to a different client or customer base. Ask and you shall receive… you get the general idea!
The good news is, you don’t have to do it all yourself. Which part of the business makes you enthusiastic? The generative, creative, or institutive parts? Once you know what’s fun for you, look for someone who can assist you with the other parts and add them to your business.
Now or for the future?
You may find coming up with ideas of potential businesses easy, however, recognise when the time is ripe to pursue them. A tool I received from the founder of Access Consciousness® Gary Douglas is to get a little notebook and write down all my ideas as they come to me. He calls it a Possibility Book. Then with each idea I ask: Is this for now or the future?
Allow yourself to receive the awareness, and you will know whether to pursue it straightaway, or whether you should hold onto it for the future.
A last word…
I’ve never created anything for money. I’ve always created for the fun of creating and the money has showed up from that. If you make a business about the money then it’ll always be about the money. What I’ve found is this, money follows joy; joy does not follow money.

Make Your Business Work For You
Is your business working for you or are you working for your business?
If your business was working for you, would that create a joyful business? Would that create a joyful life and living? Because, guess what? Your life is your business and your business is your life!
So, what’s fun for you? What do you love to do so much that you would do it for free; for the sheer joy of it? What is so easy for you that you think anyone can do it? Those are your capacities that you can turn into a business that works for you and you can make money from. Write them down. Start to recognise all that you are capable of. What if you were willing to acknowledge your capacities and you knew that you were brilliant?
To create joy in your business, life and living, follow the creativity that you have. Don’t limit yourself, or let anyone else limit you. Look at the most famous artists in the world; they didn’t allow anyone to limit them. Even though their art is worth millions of dollars today, some people would have looked at it and gone, “that’s crap”. If they had bought into that, would they have been able to sell their art for that sort of money?
You can’t just copy someone else and expect things to be ‘successful’. If you choose something that is not fun for you, then you end up resenting it and you never really create what you would like to create. Create beyond everyone else’s points of view and your own fixations and trust what is fun for you.
Destroy and uncreate everything that comes up that suggests you ‘can’t’ or you ‘shouldn’t’ and everywhere you buy into this reality’s points of view about the ‘right way to go’. And use the Access Consciousness® light and heavy tool, because what’s light for you is always the right direction for you. Then you will create a business that you actually like and enjoy, and it will get bigger and bigger even if it is totally unconventional.
Find a method that works for you in business. You don’t have to do it like everybody else.
You have to be willing to receive, and that includes receiving the gift that you are to the world. It comes back to acknowledging your capacities and your brilliance. So often people don’t want to be seen in business; it’s a really common theme. Then they have a great reason and justification to complain about why their business isn’t working or why it isn’t making money. Do you really want to destroy your business just because you aren’t willing to receive the gift of you and what you contribute to the world?
Ask, “What would it take for me to acknowledge my capacities today?”
Practice pushing your barriers down and receive the gift that you are in the world.
And, be willing to receive judgment. Because those who create greater attract attention, which is good for business, and they attract judgment. Be willing to receive praise. Be willing to receive envy. Be willing to receive all energies. What else could be possible then?
