A Trip Down Memory Lane!

I am very excited to be going to my high school reunion today.

I graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, New York in 1979, and even though there is a special ceremony for those who are celebrating their 50th anniversary, anyone who attended are also welcome to share in their pride.

It is actually hard to believe I've been out of high school for 34 years, especially since I still reside close by and pass it so often.

But all I need to do to remind myself that time has gone by so quickly is think back to everything I have experienced in the years since I ran up and down the hallways of the school, and it does begin to make sense.

In many ways, I still feel like that same teenager who had a carefree attitude and felt invincible, with my whole life ahead of me.

However, after going through such a rough patch later in life, including nearly six years behind bars and a long battle with addiction, I am a realist and know I am not the same person I was back in 1979.

Still, I am wiser and better overall for what I went through, and look forward to reconnecting with old friends and classmates to find out how the years since graduation have treated them.

Over the years, I have heard stories about some of my former classmates who are no longer with us, or who have faced hardships of their own.

So, I not only feel blessed and grateful to be alive and where I am in my life today, but will continue to enjoy to the fullest each day as it comes.

I know it is not possible to go back in time, but, for one day at least, it will be fun and exciting to take a trip down memory lane!

Have a great Sunday everyone, and make the most out of your day as well.
