In Odium II, Riley picks the story back up right where the first book left off. However, we are introduced to a new couple who are nowhere near the original characters. We learn of Deacon and Hillary, the latter being pregnant, who are surviving on their own out in a cabin. Meanwhile, the original characters from book one are fighting to escape the holds of The Forgotten. Mikey and Emily are trying to find a way to save Nina, while Nina is surviving in order to save them. Emily has recruited the help of a young man named Alek in this rescue operation. Throughout this whole book, you find out what has been happening in the walled cities that Emily and Nina escaped. We meet a whole new community that takes the group under their wings. Everything in this community seems perfect. But some people there are anything but. When all hell breaks loose on a trip to scavenge some shops, Nina is forced to deceive everyone, including Mikey. Knowing that she is lying to him, Mikey leaves Nina. Not only does he leave their home they shared, he leaves the commune to scavenge with the next group. Cut back to Deacon and Hillary. We learn that they may be the world’s saving grace, or they could be it’s downfall. But in order to help her new community, Nina embarks on a journey to find this couple. Riley once again nails the post-apocalypse. It’s a kill or be killed world, and Nina finds this out first-hand several times. Riley’s writing style is very descriptive and even though it is amidst the end of the world, Riley still manages to play on the reader’s heart. The reader becomes attached to the characters and sympathizes with the challenges they face. A great continuance of book one and I can’t wait to see where Riley takes this in the next installment.

This book was meant for the land of the living! Riley hits the apocalypse right on the head. If all hell were to break loose, it would be just like this book. You have the oppressed within the confines of the city. And the oppressors within that make you wish you were zombie fodder. The characters in the story and the connection they develop with one another seems spot on to me. I can understand Nina and her protectiveness of Emily. The fact that they made it to a town at all impressed the crap out of me, let alone getting the hell out of dodge and running into more “outsiders.” You can feel the connection between the girls and Mikey right away. When Nina and Emily meet the rest of Mikey’s crew, it is just as I imagined it would be. You would have those who have lost, those who have made mistakes, and then the bitch (or two). The responses and characteristics of these people are not overdone or romanticized. No matter what these characters do, you can sympathize with their story. Then you have The Forgotten, who is anything but and are out for blood. When all comes to head and we realize why The Forgotten is after this group, you realize that it truly is a dog eat dog world. People do what they need to in order to survive, even if that means killing others to do so. By the end, the reader isn’t sure what’s worse. Dying by the “deaders” or being taken by The Forgotten. Riley sure does know how to keep a reader attached and interested. Best apocalyptic read in a long time.   Reviewed by

Krissy is a mother to two young children, who in turn keep her young. She live's in Dublin, Ireland but, isn't originally from South Devon in the UK. Krissy work's full time in a pharmacy and write in her spare time, whenever the urge takes me. 
She has always been interested in reading from a young age, 2 years ago she was given a kindle as a present and it was the best thing that happened to her. She was able to read lots of books ever week and then she started to write reviews for all the books she read. 
She then took it one step further and started her own Facebook page – Sparkling Pink Bookshelf, she intended to upload all of my reviews for the books she has read. This was purely for pleasure at that stage. She answered a post on Facebook for someone to read for reviews and thought she had died and gone to heaven. She was reading about 7/8 books a week, the kindle made this achievable. She would read at any opportunity she was able to, even staying up til the small hours to finish a book. She loved it. Then one day she was asked to beta read a book – she love's this side of it, it was so exciting. She has worked with a number of indie authors and has remained loyal to a few select authors and she beta read all their books.  
After a year or more of doing this, She thought maybe she could write some of the stories that were in her head and she just decided to write and see what happened. she wrote about 70% of a story and then saw a post for the NaNoWriMo competition – to write 50,000 words in 30 days, She decided that this was a challenge she wanted to take and the Til Death Us Do Part series was born.   She is always thinking of situations that be turned into a story and have started a few stories, which in turn will be completed and released to her readers.
