London Premiere of Our Cyprus!
So, some of you may remember that I acted in a short film last year. It was called Our Cyprus and told the story of two men in present-day London feeling the effects of the 1974 war in Cyprus. Well, I’m pleased to say that the premiere of the film has been set for the … Continue reading London Premiere of Our Cyprus!

Two-sentence Horror Story
Ok, I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring re the two-sentence horror story.
Here goes...
The coffin was solemnly lowered into the wet ground, the heavy rain slamming into the wooden lid like the sticks of a million drummers.
If it had only been a drier day, the mourners would have heard the screams from inside the wooden box; would have known it wasn't too late to save her.

Wait… I’m my OWN target audience..?
Got this email from Amazon this morning: Apparently, Amazon’s algorithms have identified me as the target audience for my own book. I mean, technically I guess that must be true – I wouldn’t write something that I wouldn’t want to read – but it’s still a bit, well, weird. This either means: a) Sales are … Continue reading Wait… I’m my OWN target audience..?

Crime Fiction Lovers: An investigation…
I’ve loved reading psychological thrillers and crime fiction (and crime non-fiction, but that’s a post for another day) for as long as I can remember. I’m pretty sure it started with Thomas Harris’ Silence of the Lambs – specifically the character of Hannibal Lecter and his almost supernatural ability to read other people (and expertly … Continue reading Crime Fiction Lovers: An investigation…

Free Amazon Book Description Generator
OK, I’ve found a free thing that’s actually good. (I know, I was surprised too…) Basically, I’ve had problems formatting my Amazon description for, well, ever and trying to learn HTML on top of everything else I do is just impossible (without resulting in me having some kind of actual breakdown). So I’d resigned myself … Continue reading Free Amazon Book Description Generator

The Best Book Trailers IN THE WORLD!
OK, so the title might be sli-i-ightly hyperbolic… I have created book trailers for my novels The Artist and Sleep No More though, and I’ve been using them as Facebook adverts which have worked to boost sales so they can’t be that bad. So I guess the title should probably have been: Two Book Trailers … Continue reading The Best Book Trailers IN THE WORLD!

My (and maybe your) good deed for the day!
Ok, this post is a bit different, in that it’s not about weird phenomena, true crime, writing, or shameless self-promotion… (I know! What is happening to me?!) In brief, a good friend of mine is spending a year volunteering with World Child Cancer. She is working in Africa, providing counselling and training to children with … Continue reading My (and maybe your) good deed for the day!
