Music
Hey, guys!
Hope you had an awesome week. Neil and I got to have a personal dance class at my mom’s house with my family, which was so much fun! I miss doing things like that. Today is the birthday of one of my brothers, but we will be celebrating it tomorrow. As for the rest of the week, we have been getting ready for our trip (we leave Friday). We are really excited, but I will definitely miss our dogs.
I asked a question on Twitter a while back about what types of music people listen to while writing. As you probably could guess, I got a wide variety of answers—some people even said that they can’t listen to anything while writing. A lot of people said that they can only write while listening to instrumentals because lyrics are distracting. I was super appreciative for all of the suggestions other authors gave me. I listen to all sorts of things while writing (it honestly depends on what I’m writing at the moment tone-wise). Lyrics do not distract me, but I will agree that some music does not inspire anything. The violin is my favorite instrument to listen to, followed closely by the piano. I have a tendency to make a lot of music playlists, some for particular moods, some for characters, and some for specific novels. I’m considering posting the songs for each book on my website for people to see what has helped inspire my writing.
Speaking of my writing, I have not received my manuscript yet, but I should have it by the time we return from our trip in the beginning of September. Publication of The Three may have to be postponed until October or November—there is nothing set in stone as of right now. Once I have concrete details, I will surely update you!
Have a blessed week!
