SpankA2Z V is for...

Vacation!

For me, traveling doesn't always equal vacation. I also don't believe that a vacation is a luxury. A luxury vacation might be a luxury, but taking a vacation to relax and recharge is a necessity as far as I'm concerned.

The vacation I am most looking forward to this summer will be a long weekend spent at a friend's house near the beach with my three best friends from college. No

SpankA2Z U is for...

Unrequited Love

Sometimes when I'm doing these posts, words just pop into my head and so I go with it.

Unrequited Love is love that is one sided.

I am embarrassed to admit that I have been in more than one such relationship...and no I was not the one being worshipped.

I remember long phone calls with my best friend who was also prone to unrequited relationships. We'd parse every look and

#SpankA2Z S is for...

Snark.

If I was the eighth dwarf, I'd be Snarky.

Shocking, I know.

In the old days, it was called sarcasm. Now it's called snark. It's probably not the most effective form of communication, but it sure is one that I enjoy.

A friend of mine once said to me "You don't suffer fools gladly" and I think that's pretty accurate. Generally, I'm patient with those who deserve and

#SpankA2Z R is for...

Random thoughts.

Here are a few of the random thoughts I'm having these days.

1. When did the alphabet get so long?

2. Based on the big bug bite on my forehead, I'm going to say that citronella candles don't work.

3. Which is better---frosted sugar cookies or shortbread cookies?

4. Why are my glasses always dirty? Is this how the world really looks?

5. Why don't people in the grocery store

#SpankA2Z Q is for...

Quiet!

I crave quiet time, do you?

I don't want it to be too quiet or to be quiet for too long, but just a few minutes, especially in the morning, to gather my thoughts can make a big difference in my day.

How about you? How do you carve a little bit of quiet time out of a busy day? Go for a walk? Soak in the tub? Hide under your bed?

What about meditation? I think I'd like to give that a

#SpankA2Z P is for...

Procrastination!

Which seems especially appropriate since I am leaving this post to the last minute.

Here's a funny thing I've noticed about myself. I hate it when other people waste my time. Hate it with a passion and have been known to be not too pleasant about it.

But, I will happily waste my own time and am an expert at procrastination.

Here are some of my favorite ways to procrastinate:

#SpankA2Z O is for ....

On the Open Road!

My husband and I enjoy traveling by car (particularly because he does 99% of the driving). Sure flying is faster (usually) but there's something special about a leisurely road trip where you're free to stop and visit the worldest largest ball of twine or discover a diner with awesome pie.

So, what about you? Where would you recommend my husband and I visit?

Where would you go

Spanking Stories Book Club and SpankA2Z M is for...

Marlix!

The macho, manly, magnificent hero of Cara Bristol's Terran, which very conveniently is today's Spanking Stories Book Club selection.

I love it when a plan works out.

Here's the blurb for Terran:

After fleeing heartache on Terra, Tara Diehl has adjusted to male-dominated Parseon better than most until she is kidnapped by Alpha Marlix, a ruling commander. At first her tall, muscled
