I love how he’s talking to Sherlock but also talking about himself while looking at Sherlock
I s2g this scene is twins with “Maybe it was just an addict … in need of a fix” — “Yes. I think in a way it was.”
John always seems to project his own emotions onto Sherlock, assuming that he isn’t able to tell.
This scene though
John really just saying all this out loud, with the gayest hairstyle he’s sported yet, thinking the most observant man in the world won’t notice

I often feel like photographers...
I often feel like photographers don’t take enough advantage of the spectacular face of Benedict and it annoys me
that’s why I always seek for pictures like this one, where the lightening is so subtile that it literally sculpts his features
You can feel that the guy (or women of course, sorry I don’t know who took these promo Pics for Season 3 in the cafe at night) aimed for absolute perfection
The result is, it also conveys all of the complexity of Sherlock’s feelings here, looking both so soft and hard, so focus and thoughtful…that’s why I wanted to paint it

Oh. My. Heaven. Look at the amazing shading around eyes, nose, throat. The hawk-focus of the eyes (just like ACD Holmes as well as BBC Sherlock). I refrain from any commentary on the hair and mouth as the “curls” and “philtrum” deserve a blog of their own

Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Missing Christmas Spirit. John/Sherlock (POV: John), 15,017 words, rated M. Summary: John hates Christmas. So does Sherlock, but he suggests that they do Christmas “properly” this year to see if they can’t track down its elusive magic and discover for themselves what Christmas is supposed to be about.
Home for Christmas. Sherlock/John (POV: Sherlock), 15,105 words, rated E. Summary: It’s been eleven months since Eurus Holmes happened, and just one since John and Rosie moved back into Baker Street at last. With Christmas just around the corner, both Sherlock and John are slightly baffled when Mrs Hudson decides to give them a slow cooker as a “house-warming present”…

I think I am officially Fandom Old. I am so worn out from the arguments on who’s the top or the bottom (who cares), what is allowed to be written (anything you want, bejeebus), what is Problematic (I know, just tag it), what other people Should Do (they Should live their lives free of judgment). There isn’t a Right Way to do things. Tag your stuff appropriately, don’t read stuff you don’t want to read, and leave other people (me) alone.
There is nothing quite like the freedom of having gone through all of the Discourse and come out the other side into the promised land of Not Giving A Fuck.
The three keys to the promised land are “Block, Unfollow, and Do Not Engage”
Same. I used to worry that people wouldn’t like a story and let that make me debate whether or not to write it. Now I still worry and obviously I’m not happy if people don’t like something I’ve written, but what’s changed is that I write it anyway. The debate is gone.
