The further you get away from yourself, the more challenging it is. Not to be in your comfort zone is great fun.

A doctor at a high risk hospital is living away from his family. This is how he sees his toddler.
My sister-in-law is a charge nurse of a high-risk pregnancy ward. She has not been quarantining herself from her family, and their younger kid has still been going to her daycare (my brother says, defensively, “It’s just a small group of kids”). Public daycares here have been shut down, but private ones are somehow exempt from that and my younger niece’s daycare is a private one. My SIL has now come down with COVID-19 symptoms… and is still not quarantining herself from her family. My older niece isn’t in school, so she’s being looked after by my SIL’s parents, and they’re still socializing like nothing has happened or changed. This is exactly what’s wrong with this situation: people underestimate the danger and the virus spreads rampantly. My SIL should have been quarantining herself all along, like this doctor and so many other medical professionals. I’m grateful that they’re still willing to do the incredibly important work that they’re doing, and many of them are paying this price in their personal lives, for the sake of keeping their families safe. I wish my SIL had, too, and I hope that neither she nor the rest of her family die because she didn’t.
