Impunity - A British Disease
Today's article exposes the culture of impunity, albeit in the financial sector. Here are a few relevant quotes:
The regulators and other enforcement agencies, for example the Serious Fraud Office [answerable to the Attorney General], have totally failed us in holding people who have committed wrongdoing to account."
"Regulators and enforcement agencies are too cosy with the firms they supervise," he says. "There are loads of revolving doors between the regulators and the regulated." Plus, he says, there have been no personal consequences for wrong doing - no jail, fines, public censure or banning - so, therefore no deterrents.

Impunity Reigns Supreme
Someone recently said about my children, "they have not forgotten me." However, those special memories that should have been created, shared and cherished do not exist, neither for me nor my children. And those that inflicted that void continue to ply their trades unpunished:impunity reigns supreme

Why We Have Freedom of Expression
Victims of Nazi Anatomists is a grim reminder why we have freedom of expression. Governments that censor, suppress & abuse the public with impunity such as the UK are taking us down a very dangerous path indeed:
19 years old when she was executed.... She was arrested...when they caught her putting up posters that displayed messages of protest against an exhibition of Nazi propaganda. She was pregnant at the time...
[Her] grim story did not end in her death; her body was one of thousands that were delivered to anatomists and used for dissection and experimentation.
About half of these women...were executed for treason; some were betrayed...by fellow citizens for airing their anti-Nazi politics
Say No to Impunity
Tackling an all-powerful, corrupt state (core system) is a difficult task. There are many options, including modifying one of its own...
Chapter 28 "Judgement Day":
Chapter 28 "Judgement Day":
The (core) system fleet has set sail on several differing endeavours but all are set on a course to destroy democracy, the rule of law and human rights principles, and there are no admirals courageous enough to stop it. However, any system that doesn't have a pressure release valve will fail. I have given it plenty of opportunities to provide real justice but it won't take them. It is either arrogant or can't see the danger, as can happen when all around are seduced by power and greed. If just one of my early complaints were upheld, things may never have spiralled as they did. To remedy the situation now means prosecuting high-ranking legal professionals, politicians, government officials and civil servants. As the eighteenth century French philosopher Voltaire noted of the judicial murder of John Byng: “In this country England it is thought well to kill an admiral from time to time to encourage the others.” It's high time the legal profession got a taste of its own medicine. A severe approach is needed to sort them out and their collaborators in government. A short sharp shock to the system may again inadvertently lead to major changes globally, but this time, instead of gunship diplomacy shaping the world, the power of justice will do a far better job. For the sake of our hard won democracy, the rule of law and human rights, they need to be prosecuted for the crimes they have committed and the oaths they have broken. Prosecute and say no to impunity!
...
The system is in need of a massive overhaul. We need democracy and meritocracy, not mockracy and hypocrisy. The mentality of the people in control, at every level, seems to be deeply entrenched. Getting them out is going to take some doing. It would help if all of those involved in the injustices I suffered were brought to account. If lawyers, barristers, senior civil servants, senior police officers, judges and senior politicians were rounded up and faced trial together as a criminal gang for what they did in my case and justice done, it would send a shock wave through the whole system. It would be the modern day equivalent of shooting an admiral and it is long overdue.
The Impunity Pact
I came across this article today and it reminded me of certain conclusions I drew in my book.
Compare these quotes from the article and my own book:
Nothing has changed. Those that aided Lily's abduction and the subsequent cover-up just knew they would get away with it.
In this country ironically called Great Britain, institutions are protected at the expense of the public: reputation before truth and justice.

Article
The group is alleged to have included senior figures in public life, the military, politics and law enforcement.
..."They had no hesitation in doing what they wanted to do," Nick said. "Some of them were quite open about who they were. They had no fear at all of being caught, it didn't cross their mind."
Book
The cover-up was so complete that it must have involved several people in positions of real power across the whole spectrum of the Establishment. That observation is supported by the fact that even though some of the cover-up activities were serious, the perpetrators obviously didn't think there was a risk in doing them....It was as if the Establishment had hit the emergency button, classified the cover-up as priority number one and locked down every avenue to justice. That every political party, lawyer, police authority, charity, court and media entity I contacted were nullified beggared belief.
