Dirty Dozen Character Interview – Léonide #Metaphysical #Romance
From the Library of Erana: A Glimpse into the Soul of a Metaphysical Romance
Every so often, a book arrives that doesn’t just tell a story — it unearths something older, something deeper. Prima Nocta by D.J. Pratt is one such tale. Rich with reincarnated souls, tangled destinies, and the electric ache of spiritual longing, it weaves metaphysical vision with sensual intensity in a way that defies easy genre labels.
Today, we’re joined by one of its most enigmatic figures — a woman of many names and few certainties. Some call her Léonide. Some remember her only by what they felt in her presence. She is not a witch, not a priestess, not quite of this world… and yet, she may be the one who remembers it most clearly.
Step into the character interview below and decide for yourself whether Léonide is myth, memory, or something in between.

Interview with Léonide, from Prima Nocta:
Tell us a little about yourself.
I am called Léonide. I have many names… Some names are older than most tongues. Some do not yet exist.
But names are labels, not windows: you may call me as you will, my truth is in what you see.
I am not a priestess, though some have thought to make me one. Nor am I a witch, though I walk with spirits. I listen. I open. I remember what has been and what will be.
How did you end up in the situation you’re currently in?
The wind shifts. The moon moves. My memories were born when the veil thinned, and they slipped through with a purpose I did not choose.
I followed the soul that called to mine – me to them and they to me. Not to possess, but to witness.
That has always been my role: to be a midwife to that which should’ve been and that which must come to be.
Do you have any regrets?
Regret is a word the pitiful grounded cling to. I prefer the language of currents and echoes.
If I regret anything, it is that, again, we are unaligned. It is not to be this time either.
Love… is what binds the weave.
Is your life now as you envisioned it? If not – then why?
My life unfolds like smoke — never still, never shaped long enough to hold. I envisioned nothing. I remember things, and live the peace that comes from certainty.
Do you believe in monsters?
Yes. But not the toothy ones in children’s stories. The worst carry amulets of unreasonable reason and robes of self-righteousness. They call their cruelty ‘truth,’ but it is a conceit born of ignorance.
Do you believe in magic? How do you feel about it?
No. It’s not a belief: rather, it’s a breath. An essential part of the weave of the earth, the skies, and across dissociated time. It is the rhythmic hum of the world beneath the world – where reason is nonsense and chaos reigns beautiful.
Would you die for those you love?
Yes. In fact, I have.
But more often, I live for them; that is harder, for death is the coward’s escape.
How do you define ‘heroism?’
The ones who stay behind to clean the wounds.
The ones who open their hearts knowing they will bleed.
Heroism is not conquest. It is continuity.
What is your greatest weakness (we won’t tell)?
I still believe even the broken can remember how to sing.
So, I grieve that I remember the melodies but yet I cannot share.
Do you believe you will be successful in your quest?
I am certain. Not because I’ve seen it, but because I know the weave, the forces, the inscrutable fluidity that makes and shapes all things.
I grasp this truth… what is meant to be will come – because that is how it works.
I will be together with my beloved. But, sadly, in this life, I can only sow those seeds.
What do you think of your author/creator?
A kindred spirit, hearing the whispers behind – but deluded, pretending they’re an illusion. Flawed, frightened kin… but kin nonetheless.
What do you love most in the world?
The moment someone realizes they are not alone.
That the veil is not a wall, but a breath.
And they have always been part of something vast, trembling, and sacred.
What do I love? I love it when they are with the ones they are meant to find.
