Reviews and Features

Wow! I really can't wait to see where Kristin takes this series!!! It is definitely different than what I've read before, a VERY good different I might add! I really enjoyed this book and was very happy to be able to review it for Kristin. I was hooked from the beginning of this book and had a hard time putting it down. I loved how the author took time unraveling all the details but kept it so interesting you just couldn't put it down, I do wish it wouldnt have taken soo long but I cant complain when you read about Cole ( yummy). It was one of those books you got to the end and went "OMG this cant be over" double checked it was for sure over and then your searching for when book two comes out! I really love the love story she has building between Cole and Lexis, I can't wait to find out what happens further in that! I also really liked all the characters, the story line was great, and I really think this will make a great series! My only complaint was some of the mistakes and that it wouldn't have taken so long to get to the details, it would've been nice to know more in the first book! That being said I give it 4 out 5 stars (cole <3) and I will be waiting on book 2!! Can't wait!

I wasn't entirely sure what I thought about before I started this book what I thought. I absolutely love the cover, I think it's so beautiful. The synopsis wasn't much to go on, so I wasn't entirely sure if I would like this book. However, considering I got this book as a review request I decided to just go for it.
I am happy to report that although I had previous skepticism I absolutely fell in love with this book. Once I started it, I just could not put it down. Honestly one of my favorite books this year.
Kristen Campbell wrote extremely realistic characters, as well as an extremely realistic world. I have to say I've never read a story quite like this one. I feel as if she completely twisted what has been done with angel stories and completely redid them. Although Lunangelique is the first book in the series, it wasn't just an introduction into the characters and supernatural world. From the first page readers will be thrust-ed into Lexie's world. Explanations aren't all inner dialogue, they're explained naturally with the story.
I truly fell in love with Lexie's character. You know in some books, where it's painfully obvious what creatures the other people are, or even if it's not painfully obvious in the beginning but there are clues. Then the main character just says it's nothing and when she finally finds out it's this huge shock? Well Lexie is not like that character, and Lunangelique is nothing like that book. Lexie knows there is something going on a few chapters in. Lexi is an extremely likeable character. She's a funny character, strong, independent, thoughtful of others, and when she gets a boyfriend although she does spend a lot of time with him, she also finds time to spend with her friends.
Speaking of Lexie's boyfriend, he is a serious hottie, hunk of a swoon worthy man. Seriously when Lexie first saw him, and started describing him I'm pretty sure I was drooling...a lot. Not good when my boyfriend was sitting in the room with me. He's completely sweet, and adorable. He brings Lexie flowers, and isn't a complete horn dog. The cute couple do actually go on a lot of dates too which was awesome, as well as hang out with her family.
Needless to say if you haven't already guessed since it's a series, there was a moment at the end that changed everything. I have to say I was crying and screaming "NOOOO!!!" at the top of my lunges after I finished reading it. It was completely upsetting, and I am now dying to read the second book.
I don't want to say much else, because that would be spoiler-y, and I don't like spoilers. If you liked my review, or decide to pick up a copy of Lunangelique let me know what you think.
I feel as if everyone should read this book, ASAP. With only 214 pages it's a quick, yet amazing read. Plus you need to support all the amazing Indie authors out there and Kristen Campbell is one of them. To find out more about the author and her books visit her website.

"Cole traps me against the piano, his arms braced against it on either side of me, creating a cage. He leans into me and stares into my eyes for several moments before leaning in more and running his lips against my jaw line.
I melt into him as he whispers in my ear, “You look really, really, beautiful today.” He continues his kisses down to my shoulders and collarbone, removing the sweater I had on. I feel paralyzed. I’ve never been kissed by a guy this way and if I move I will melt into the ground and the only thing holding me up right now is him and the piano.
“I think you should get dressed, because I do not feel in control of myself around you .."

Lunangelique's Sleeping Gods

Just put the finishing touches on the second installment of Lunangelique!

Tomorrow starts the process of reviewing and sending it off to the editor. The most nerve-wracking part of the process for me! (scream)

Here is another teaser in celebration.

I sit up in bed. Did that just happen? I look out the window and see that it’s now dark out. It felt like I was only asleep for minutes. I turn around to roll off the bed and make my way to the door so I can go check on Io. When I open the door she is standing on the other side of it.

“What are you doing?” I ask. Suddenly I realize I’m only dressed in sleep pants as she eyes me like a piece of chocolate cake. I fold my arms over my chest, feeling molested.

“You talk to Selene, didn’t you?”

“How did you know that? I thought it was a dream.”

She shakes her head. “No dream. I felt her energy surrounding your room. What she say?”

“She told me to stay with Lexi. That things were moving quickly.” I watch Io bite her lip and turn pale. “What?”

“I talk to her.”

“Talk to whom?”

“Limina. Your Lexi.” Oh, shit.

I rub my hands forcefully down my face and then find the ceiling fascinating. If I look at her, I’ll strangle her. “Io, why did you do that? You know Kakabel is going to kill me.”

“No he won’t. He called. I told him ‘go to hell!’” She laughs at herself and I can’t help but crack a smile. Wish I could have seen the expression on his face when that happened.

I lean up against the door frame and fold my arms back over my chest. “He’s still going to chew me out for not ‘containing you’.”

“I tell him I subdue you with my body and you became comatose.” She shoots me another of her coy grins and bats her lashes. I can’t help the laugh that fires out of me.

“I’m sure he really will believe that. He’ll want to. Anything to add another reason to keep me away from his daughter,” I can’t hide the despair in my voice.

She puts her hand on my upper arm and rubs it soothingly. “Awe, poor Astaroth. I not say anything. He get over it.”

Sleeping Gods teaser

It's almost done! Oh, joy! This book has been so much fun to write!

“Ollie, we’ll meet you at the elevators,” he dismisses him from our presence and then takes me into a corridor away from the throng in the lobby.

Before he says anything to me he grabs my purse and turns my cell phone off.

“How did you…” And before I can finish my question his lips are against mine. I surrender to them without even thinking. I missed this so much. I missed him so much. But he betrayed me!

I push him away from me and raise my arm to slap him but he catches my wrist. “I knew you still loved me.”

“You are wrong! You deceitful, cowardice, jackal! Don’t ever touch me again!” I try to get away from him but his hand tightens on my wrist. “Let go of me, so help me, I will take you down!”

His look darkens and he steps closer to me so that he is right up to my face. I feel his breath caress me as he says, “I look forward to it.”

That’s it! I bring my knee up to his groin but he slaps it away with his free hand and pushes me up against the wall, pushing his body into mine so that I cannot move my legs to kick out at him. With my free hand I grab a handful of his hair and jerk his head back so that he has to fold over and step away from me. He moves his free hand onto my other wrist and tries to free his hair. With his head bent down and my legs free I again knee him but this time in his face. His head jerks up after the impact but he still doesn’t free his hands from my wrist. He throws me back into the wall and I try to slide away from him but only manage to land us both on the floor with him on top of me.

He now has both of my wrists pushed against my chest and is straddling my legs so that I cannot move. A triumphant smile plays on his lips as he looks down on me.

“Oh, how I have missed you, Lexi.” The demon toys with me.

“Get off me or I will scream until everyone in the lobby is surrounding us and hauling you off to jail.” I squirm underneath him, trying to find some way to break through.

“It would be so worth it,” he says but obliges and lets me go.

I really want to knock him on his ass at this moment but don’t want to give him anymore enjoyment in touching him. I stomp off in the direction of the elevators and Ollie waiting patiently.
