Reclaiming the Water Tower as Public Art
Penn State
the fact that so many penn state people are personally offended by the freeh report and anyone saying anything negative about joe paterno in general just further proves my point that penn state is a cult
Sorry, it’s not a cult. Fill in Penn State with any other major university with a big-time football program and the reaction would be the same. Are there dozens of “cults” in the US? I guess. I don’t think of it that way. That simplifies it. It is rather a part of American culture. Don’t get me wrong, I love college football, and I hate what happened at Penn State. (Check out my Rant of the Day posted earlier.) But, today the “scandal of the century” happened at PSU. Tomorrow it could happen at Florida, Michigan, or Oklahoma. In fact, it is destined to do so, I don’t know when, and I don’t know where. The reason: Americans rarely learn from their mistakes while history tends to repeat. And riots at those schools will make what happened in State College, November 2011, look tame in comparison.
re: your Joe Paterono rant - WORD.
I’m a heartbroken fan of the former and now disgraced patriarch of college football.
We Penn Staters need to move on. But, we can’t do that without facing the truth; the Penn State football we thought we knew, the good, clean program we held up so high, above Florida, above Alabama, above Oklahoma, above Texas, above, above, above, was far more below than we could ever imagine.
Will football disappear from central Pennsylvania? No. Because it can’t. Too many lives depend on it. In tough economic times the last thing anyone is going to do is send more people on food stamps. Football will go on, and the students will still hold fundraisers for great causes, and a lot of work will be done in the classroom, and the alumni will continue to be ethical, successful entrepreneurs. But, you can’t leave all of those symbols of something that wasn’t real. I hope my fellow Penn Staters eventually come to see that. Unfortunately, I think the nation is set up to be shocked once more.
oh, you're perfect! I've already read your rant of the day. I'm just- I just can't believe people will willingly turn a blind eye, because he was a good football coach.
It makes me incredibly sad, quite honestly, and it’s all such a shame. The truth is that if they would have held true to the values that they wanted all of us students to live by, they could have redeemed the Penn State way. Would it have been awful to learn in 1998-1999 that the revered defensive coordinator was a child molester. Absolutely. Would it have stopped me from going to that school. Maybe, but probably not. (How on earth could they have allowed Sandusky to be sent off into the sunset on the shoulders of his players as a hero, at this point, thinking about it, is absolutely insane!)
I STILL LOVE PENN STATE AND IF YOU DISAGREE YOU CAN GO GET GAS TONIGHT!

Guys! Google just showed me how to make screen shots so now I can show you this ridiculousness.
She just added more, by saying “Well, I guess me and 1000s of others are unacceptable because I’m not blaming Joe or Penn State.”
So I was like “well, there you have it.”
Um, amazing. The whole country should read FLEXON VALE. Do it! Do it now!
Let me add that I do think there will be more heads to roll in this including potentially the Governor of Pennsylvania. Don’t be so naive to think this cover-up was local. I’m betting a lot of people in the State knew and agreed it needed to be covered up “for the good of the program,” whatever that means. I wish someone would go up to all them and tell them, “Look at the kids lives you ruined. They will never recovery. Furthermore, you’ve effectively destroyed the ‘program’ you sought to protect.”
hahaha you reblogged my post about Paterno and not knowing how to take screen shots! I DID figure it out, though, if you're interested in seeing what she said. I was thinking, the whole time, that the idiocy that exists in this nation continues to astound
That’s hysterical. And I couldn’t agree more! You should check out my debut satire entitled, Flexon Vale, on Amazon.com. I would love to see what she said, so why don’t you post it, and I’ll re-blog it. I have a lot of followers who I think would be interested. :)
Oh my God. That dumb bitch from last night is STILL on my facebook status, defending Joe Paterno and Penn State. What the fuck.
Guys. I wish I knew how to take screen shots because I really want to show you this.
I can’t even.
Gahh.
