The United States is one of few developed nations that accepts the notion of firearms in public hands. In theory, the citizenry needs to defend itself. Not a single person at the Aurora, Colo., theater shot back, but the theory will still be defended.”

Given the care taken by the founders of our country I’m sure there was an important and good reason for the right to bear arms. That said, do we really need to allow citizens to have access to semi-automatic assault rifles that are fit for the military? Probably not. How about simple handguns with six rounds. That should be fine to defend one’s self.
The craziest aspect of the gun situation in the USA is that since O was elected sales of guns and ammunition have been astronomical. Irony at its finest.
