Michael Vaughan: technique trouble making Kevin Pietersen an ordinary mortal

After the Cape Town Test, people have started asking whether Kevin Pietersen is losing his appetite for runs. Yes, he made a couple of low scores, and had a couple of strange dismissals. But I wouldn't say that he is struggling with his motivation - anything but. I have spent a bit of time with him and I think the problem is rooted in his technique.

Michael Vaughan: a triumph for Andrew Strauss and Andy Flower's 'Team England' ethic

I am a great believer that teams have to show more character when they are fighting for a draw than when they are going for a win - as England demonstrated by digging deep yet again in Cape Town.

Michael Vaughan: England's James Anderson lucky to escape ban for ball-tampering

England should treat the whole ball-tampering incident as a warning. They were lucky to get away without an official reprimand, or even a ban, because there is no doubt in my mind that they were trying to change the condition of the ball.

South Africa v England: expect Graeme Smith's team to come out fighting

Everything is set up for a fantastic tussle here in Cape Town, and while I'd obviously like to see England take the match and the series, I also hope South Africa will come out fighting.
