India v England: Joe Root destined to succeed Alastair Cook as captain

One day Joe Root will captain England. I hate to put pressure on him, but I have to be honest and say I see a young man with real leadership qualities.

England selectors must not discard Monty Panesar after final Test in India

During the last two Tests this England side have performed at their very best for the first time this year but they still have to finish off the job. Michael Vaughan: Ricky Ponting was the best batsman I ever played against

Ricky Ponting was the best batsman I ever played against. Every time he walked to the crease he had fire in his eyes. He had determination, aggression and a great temperament. His technique was not the best, but he had an amazing ability to attack and play shots that you could not set fields to defend against.
