Ghost Story - out today!
I was really pleased to see that my book for young teens 'The Haunting of Tabitha Grey' (Egmont) has been published a week early. It's been my ambition for ages to write and publish a ghost story, because I love them so much myself and am very interested in the paranormal. A lot of what happens in 'Tabitha' is stuff that has happened to me or to people who work at Preston Manor (the house which is the real-life inspiration for 'Weston Manor' in the book). I'm a firm believer that there is more 'out there' than we might think. I also like the 'Stone Tape Theory', which states that strong emotions from the past can get trapped in the walls and fabrics of buildings and then it only takes the right sort of sensitive person - like Tabitha! - to release them. This can take the form of smells, sounds, feelings or even seeing full-bodied apparitions! Anyway, 'Tabitha' is my tribute to all things ghostly and creepy and WEIRD - and I'd love to know your thoughts when you've read it! my website is www.vanessacurtis.com and you can leave comments there if you like.
