Guess What? We're Funny!
A quick thanks to those of you who attended the LOC event for Investigation Discovery — or watched on webcam. It was a lively panel with me, David Baldacci, and Kathy Reichs. We were touting "Hardcover Mysteries," but we also addressed questions from the audience about writing in general. One lady in the audience wanted [...:]

Signing in DC on Monday!
I look forward to next Monday night, September 20 when I'll be appearing on a panel with friends and colleagues David Baldacci and Kathy Reichs. We'll be there to talk about our episodes on the upcoming show "Hardcover Mysteries," which premieres on Investigation Discovery October 11. This is an exciting new series, and I'm thrilled [...:]

Bragging Rights
I just wrapped up five hours on the phone doing interviews for TOUGH CUSTOMER…only to open my email and discover an email alert from Simon & Schuster with some wonderful news for Ryan. Since I'm not one to pass up a chance to hype my kids, for those of you who missed "Play Dead" in [...:]

The Excitement Builds
We closed our office a few weeks ago so that the (very old) hardwood floors could be refinished. Everyone worked from home, so trying to co-ordinate this and make arrangements for that was…challenging but we managed. People are usually surprised to discover I work in an actual office, but it's all part of the discipline [...:]

Seriously Folks
My good friend Lyn Darden and I don't see each other but once or twice a year. We stay in touch by sending each other funny cocktail napkins and cards. We have an ongoing contest to see who can find the funniest. I had dinner at her house in NC recently, and she had these [...:]

Smash Cut Release Day and More News!
The paperback edition of SMASH CUT is now on sale! I must say that this book has one of the creepiest creeps I've ever created. The villain frightens me because he doesn't look like a villain — and in my opinion that's the most dangerous kind. He's handsome, charming, rich, and enticing. Much like Satan [...:]

Hardcover Mysteries
New this fall is a show from Investigation Discovery called "Hardcover Mysteries." The same production company who did "Murder by the Book" for truTV is doing this series, and, because we worked so well together before, they've invited me to do an episode for this new show. I knew of an intriguing case that occurred [...:]

Mother's Day Week(end)
I spent a busy week in New York just before the Mother's Day Weekend — meetings with my publisher and agent. Discussions about the upcoming publication of TOUGH CUSTOMER (8/10/2010), finalizing the book cover, which we hope to unveil soon, deciding on the author photo for the back cover… Etc. etcera.
But it wasn't [...:]
