The running of the Bulls ---in Logan, Utah

I've seen painted cows in Chicago, black labs in Sun Valley, and now . . . . in my adopted home town of Logan, Utah, bulls. (USU's mascot is a bull.)Here are some of the creations:

Center for Persons with Disabilities Meet Lil' Marv, the CPD-sponsored bull. He's named in honor of Marvin Fifield, one of the CPD's founders. Lil' Marv is painted in Aggie Blue chalkboard paint which will allow him to be decorated time and time again as he appears at various Cache Valley events. He might even serve...

“In my youth,” father William replied to...

     An excerpt from Gabriel's Daughters

'That youngest daughter of yours will make a fine wife and mother,' he had heard many times from admiring men. However, comments like that from his contemporaries ha...

April 27"Fairy Godmothers, Inc." Launch Party1-4 p.m.Barnes and Noble, 1780 Woodland Park Dr., Layton, UT

Fairy Godmother Rule Number One: Never argue with a client.  As long as someone’s willing to pay for them, dancing elephants,  solid-gold princes, and fifty-foot high stacks of down-filled mattresses  are perfectly fine requests. And never, under any circumstances, point  out when a client is being an idiot.

With this int...

Book Review and Author Interview: From Rivets and Rails, Recipes of a Boarding House Cookbook

As many successes originate, the endeavor that led to this cookbook was started out of necessity, as Elizabeth Shade Kennedy found herself suddenly widowed with five young sons to raise. To support her family, she established a boarding house for railroad workers on the New York Central and Hudson River Railroad lines and kept a detailed cookin...
