Audio: Jim Garlow shouldn't have gay sex since he's apparently terrible at it
For Jim Garlow, a prominent pastor, conservative activist on the front lines in major battles like Proposition 8, and a recent invitee at the Vatican's recent anti-gay political conference, being in a same-sex marriage is just like living in a house with bad pipes and hazardous wiring. Right Wing Watch brings us the hilariously desperate clip:
"All the people who advocate for so-called same-sex marriage ought to have to live in homes in which the plumbers who built them, or the electricians wh...

Audio: Tony Perkins notes how anti-gay, political Vatican #Humanum conference really was
I wrote and tweeted quite a bit about the anti-LGBT conference that the Vatican recently held, and I specifically noted how shockingly political the whole thing was. Now anti-LGBT politico Tony Perkins, of the invited guests of the conference, helps me drive home that point:
SOURCE: Point of View radio, 12/4/14
The Vatican invited a "culture war." That is the truth. This Pope, who is supposedly above and beyond such things, invited anti-LGBT political activists because he and the church he lea...

Video: Just three minutes of young people backing marriage equality; merry Christmas!
Even the people who are personally opposed (or just acting like teenagers) are in favor of all equality. This is your very near future, America:

AFA's star spokesman: Homosexuality is like (alleged) rape
The latest musing from the American Family Association's Director of Issues Analysis: Being gay is like the drugging and sexual abuse allegations plaguing a popular entertainer's legacy:
But hey, it's not like GOP superstars from Fox News anchors all the way up to likely presidential candidates still cater to this incendiary voice or anything. Right?
[Fox News' Todd Starnes loves Bryan Fischer]
[Sen. Rand Paul on Bryan Fischer's show]
Oh right.

NOM continues to slight married straight people who don't have, can't have, don't care to have kids
Not sure if this is a new official tag line or something they are just testing. But while it obviously and purposely excludes gay parents like myself, it's also yet another instance of the anti-gay movement excluding and pretty much ostracizing the many married couples who do not have children for whatever reason:
[NOM]
Whenever someone like me points out this truth, the NOM crowd is all like, "Nah, we're not marginalizing single parents or married couples without kids." But how do you figure?...
Video: If this is the biggest protest Mississippi can muster, the other side should just forfeit now
In this local news report from Jackson, Mississippi's WAPT News, Republican Gov. Phil Bryant (who has been known to buddy up to Tony Perkins) portrays a federal judge's opinion in favor of marriage equality as some sort of unfair overreach and fearfully pivots to a "what next?" scenario that will soon bring marijuana legalization to the state. Whatever; he's a conservative Republican and I would expect no less.
The bigger statement here, for me, is the humorously tiny protest against equality....
FRC wants Congress to intervene on DC LGBT rights protections; perhaps should just move its HQ somewhere else
The viciously anti-LGBT Family Research Council is a huge fan of "changing" gay people and not at all a fan of protections that aim to ensure the safety and wellbeing of the same. They also don't seem to like pot very much (even though if there were ever an organization that could stand to mellow the f**k out, it's this one).
So with their home city taking strides to protect LGBT people and possibly joining the national trend toward a measure of legality for marijuana, FRC is now calling on Co...

Read: 11th Circuit denies Florida stay extension; freedom to marry should arrive first week of January
Great news out of the Sunshine State! Today the 11th Circuit rejected the state's attempt to extend a stay of a August federal district court ruling in favor of marriage equality. Translation: Unless the US Supreme Court grants a stay extension, marriages will begin in Florida after the current stay runs out on January 5.
Here's the short order:

Video: Well at least no pastors are calling for gays to be murdered by Christmas. Oh wait a minute...
Move over, two front teeth. Take a hike, fruit cakes. Back to the overlong song, partridges in pear trees. For Arizona pastor Steven Anderson, it's the murdering of gay people that will make Christmas "AIDS free" and bright:

No, FRC, my blood is not 'risky'
I have been in a monogamous marriage for twelve years. I don't use drugs of any kind, injectable or otherwise. I am negative for HIV and all sexually transmitted infections. No tattoos. No medical conditions. My vices are limited to things like red wine (yes, please!) and pie (yes! please!).
But according to the ridiculously hostile Family Research Council, I am inherently "risky" simply because of my sexual orientation:

There is nothing "risky" about my sex. Yet in the world FRC wants to...
