Earlier this morning, news broke that the list of 30 nominees for this year’s Grand Prix d'Angouleme was announced, and did not include a single female creator. The Grand Prix is a lifetime achievement award, and the winner is named president of the following year’s Angouleme International Comics Festival. write. read. be a husband and be a dad. go to africa and antarctica. start running again. get back in fighting trim. finish the Harry Potter books with the kids. get something on TV. make more visual work, whether it’s doing 8BITS or notebooks or whatever.avoid hospitals, hospices, and funerals. Prolly gonna catch ROGUE ONE.
How and why did you got a script of The Revenant? Are you like an Oscar judge now or something?
Wasn’t a script, it was a DVD screener; no, I’m a member of the WGA and they have their own awards, so we get screeners. I always joke that the union and the health care are fine, but what I really love about the WGA is the screeners, but it’s only, like, a half-joke.
