Thoughts about the racial discrimination in Portland? Good news on the horizon? The Atlantic ran a really interesting/sad article about the city and state. I'm from Oregon but now live in TX. Have been thinking of moving back. Just wondering.
we live in a place that had sundown laws on the books until the thirties. 80% of the state’s black population lives *in portland* and portland is so white it’s see-through. we’re super-gay (second in the nation!) but super-white (tenth in the nation!) and i wish things were different. i wish i was raising my children in a place that looks like the world we live in. kel and i are starting to work with the urban league in hopes of contributing positively towards that outcome. for now the town a...
I really, really loved your run on "The Defenders", as well as the concept. With it having to wrap up early, how close to the original ending. Will we ever see a pitch document for it?

They are, like a garage for a garage band, an incredibly efficient and relatively inexpensive workshop to explore. i tried making them, read them, thought about them, tore‘em up, made more, repeat. i drew my own, i found talented artists who, like me, wanted to make these things but hadn’t before, I talked a lot of shit, I made friends, I read and thought and wrote like a Victorian shut-in.
just finished blackhawk book one blood and iron by chaykin and I have no idea what's going on and I don't like anybody in the book and I don't know how chaykin's art can be both charismatic and cold somehow and now I'm going to add a question mark at the e
i can hear your uptalk. also“i have no idea what’s going on and i don’t like anybody in the book” is Peak Chaykin, i think.
