It was confusing and surr…moreI once stayed at a hotel in San Mateo, CA that seemed Non-Euclidian. Its third and second floor were both on the same level! It was confusing and surreal, so I thought it would be fun to write a book about a hotel that almost had a mind of its own. As I already had the world mapped out, it was a matter of plonking that hotel in the middle of a large, weird city.

This story grew into a rather creepy tale with dragons, a persecuted werewolf, a masterchef faun, and one very upset goddess.(less)
