He Kept His Day Job: Fanfare for the Common Musician
My new book, ‘He Kept His Day Job: Fanfare for the Common Musician,’” is a memoir about my lifelong adventures as a small-time musician.
It begins in Denver with the hate-to-practice years (and a regrettable fight with my mom) and chronicles my experiences with music lessons, school and college bands (including a rather notorious Bay Area ‘marching’ band), a terrific community college jazz band, a perfect-chemistry brass quintet, and the ICU and oncology units at a hospital where I played my trombone in a music therapy program. I hope this short memoir, which includes music-related columns I wrote for the Riverside Press-Enterprise, will inspire young musicians to stick with their music and adults, particularly those with day jobs, to haul their axes (or dance shoes or paint brushes) out of the attic and fall in love all over again.

I'm a new arrival to Author Page Land and am looking forward to hearing from readers and other authors.
But first, I'd like to clarify which books listed on my page were actually written by me.
By me: "Justice in Plain Sight," "The Tortoise and the Hare Race Again," and "Emily and the Ostriches." (Coming soon: a new one!)
Not by me: "Overcoming Student Learning Bottlenecks" and "Opening Up Education."
I have tried to have the not-by-mes removed. I am just learning the ropes, though, and am sure things will work out.
