New Release! Regency Spanking Romance - Pleasing the Colonel

Spanking Celebrations...Pleasing the Colonel

New release!
I'm so excited that my Regency romance Pleasing the Colonel was released yesterday. I've been teasing you with it for a long time, but this one took a bit of time to shape properly. You may recall that it was inspired after I re-read Pride and Prejudice while I was at my children's swim lessons. I'm tickled pink that when you search Pleasing the Colonel in the Amazon search box, the second thing that comes up is Sense and Sensability. I have no idea why, but I love it!

Would you mind clicking the link below and "liking" and "tagging" it on Amazon for me?

Pleasing the Colonel

$4.95 on Amazon
Trapped in a crevice after a carriage accident, Amanda Downy is not sure whether she'll ever see the light of day again. With her tongue loosened by a fellow passenger's flask of brandy, she reveals several well-guarded secrets about her life as a governess at Colonel Watson's residence, including the fact that she falsified her references to gain her employment.

The next morning Amanda is horrified when she finds that the passenger who saved her life after the carriage crash is sitting at the breakfast table at Colonel Watson’s estate, and it appears that he is the long-absent Colonel himself! Amanda is certain that she will be immediately dismissed, but the Colonel has a different sort of discipline in mind for her…

Paranormal Erotica (Spanking)
Title: Deathless Love
Author: Renee Rose

Date Published: 8/29/12
Publisher: Stormy Night Publications

Kate Strand has always had a crush on Dominic, the owner of the club where her band plays, despite-- or perhaps because of-- the fact that he's a vampire. But when he sniffs out her predilection for spanking and brings her fantasies to reality one night, she falls head over heels. The trouble is, Dom is allergic to relationships, or so it seems.

Dom loves knowing how to turn Kate on and domination comes naturally to him. But he believes he likes Kate more than is good for either of them. In his mind, mortals and vampires don't mix, and the best thing he can do for her is stay far away. But when another vampire targets Dom, Kate gets tangled in the dangerous web and Dom finds himself prepared to sacrifice his own life to save hers. Can he get her back alive? And if so, will they find a way to be together?

Alice Dark - Grand Domme of Spanking Fiction

So, I know that sexy texts are called sexts. What are sexy tweets called? Because Bent Alice (aka Alice Dark) flips me with her spanky tweets on a regular basis.

And you can forget what I said about being a switch. If I was going to be in a spanking situation with a woman, I would be the bottom and I'd pick Alice Dark to be the top. Hands down. She knows how to do it right. I can tell.

Renee Rose: Do you use a pen name, and if so, how did you come up with it?
Alice Dark: I have used pen names in the past, and will likely do so in the future. Sometimes, taking on a different identity allows me to solidify myself in the character. If that happens, I'll let the character be the one who who wrote the work.

Renee Rose: Tell me about your latest release.
Alice Dark: My girlfriend and I both have Catholic upbringings. It seemed natural to tell stories about our younger years and experiences at the hands of the nuns. Not everything I write is what actually happened. I bend the stories a bit to make them what I wish had happened. O, I got spanked. A lot. And I try to remember each instance so I can write about it. The Caning of Misty Day: a Lesbian Threesome of Spanking and Sex is based on truth. When I was younger, and still attending Catholic school, two girls got whipped by one of the nuns at our church because they were behaving inappropriately in school. At that age, and in that setting, I didn't really know what was going on between the girls. I'm not sure they even knew. Now that I'm older …

But anyway. The Mother Superior was very strict, and she caned both boys and girls. She whipped both of those girls, and made them stay apart. I didn't really know the girls well. But I knew their story. I embellished on it – made it more fun.

Renee Rose: How many books have you written? Are they all F/f spanking fiction?
Alice Dark: I've write a variety of novellas, short stories and poetry. Most of what I write is F/f, though I'm currently working on a short story that's a M/f spanking story. It's fun, and I'm using an alias to write. Sometimes it's hard for me to write a male character, because I like to take on the character in my mind. Not this time.

I also wrote a Femdom story – The Dominatrix and the Cheerleader. It wasn't strictly F/f, but it was developing that way. Both of the males in the story play minor characters – foils for the two women who develop a relationship with one another. It's basically Mistress and Student relationship, with two male subs – F/F/m/m.

However, I like most to write Lesbian erotica. Like the coaches say: Write what you know.

Renee Rose: How long have you been writing spanking fiction?
Alice Dark: I've been writing for more than 30 years about a variety of subjects, but it's only in the last couple of years that I've started committing to print my spanko fantasies. I still write other stories, and I've got some thoughts about a robot girl that may, or may not, be a spanking story. I also like to write about vampires, but haven't figured out yet (in my own mind), how or why I would spank them.

Renee Rose: Are you okay in your kink?
Alice Dark: I love my kink, and I explore it every chance I get. Some people mistake spanking for BDSM. It's not the same. We play a little rough sometimes – we skate the edge – but we're spankers, and not hardcore. At least not yet.

Renee Rose: Is writing your full time gig?
Alice Dark: No. I have a full time job at an ad agency. I hate it.

Renee Rose: What do you like to see in spanking fiction?
Alice Dark: Like any other story, spanking fiction should have strong, believable characters. Too many times, the stories I see focus on the spanking, and not on character development. The word fiction implies that what's written is a story. It should read that way.

Renee Rose: What is your writing process?
Alice Dark: I'm a spur of the moment kind of writer. I don't outline, and I don't plot. I sit down, and I start with a story from my past. What I write from that point on might be reality, or entirely made up. But it starts with my own life.

Renee Rose: What's your take on consensual vs. non-consensual spankings in fiction?
Alice Dark: I prefer consensual spankings. The spankee may not really want the spanking, but has found herself in the position of being forced to accept it. But I remember from my youth, watching the old black and white movies and shows. I know that Lucy was sometimes spanked by Ricky, and it was definitely non-consensual. I also remember John Wayne spanking some girl in one of his movies, and that wasn't consensual either. I like those spankings – how they developed in the story. I would be opposed to writing a storyline such as that.

Renee Rose: What makes a top worthy of topping?
Alice Dark: Respect, communication and trust – not necessarily in that order, though I always put respect first. Respect has to go both ways between Domme and sub. If we don't respect one another, there's real chance of permanent damage – either psychological or physical – being done to a loved one. I know that not everyone agrees that a Domme should respect her sub, and I don't care what they think.

Communication is important in any relationship, as is trust. But these are especially critical in relationship that explores fetishes, kinks and desires that go beyond the vanilla bite.

If you want to top your partner, listen to what she says. Build trust. And one day, you’ll get the chance to put the blush into her cheeks.

Renee Rose: you like any of your characters?
Alice Dark: I’m a Dominant in real life, and I’d like to say I’m a Dominant in my books. So far, that hasn’t happened. As I replay the roles and memories of my youth, I find myself slipping into a submissive role. That’s not at all like me – at least not today. I’d like to say that I’m like the Dominant Professor Alicia, in The Dominatrix and the Cheerleader. But that wouldn’t be true. Alicia is damn near asexual – pure and untouchable. Me? I like sex too much to be that kind of Domme.

Maybe one day, I’ll write myself fully into a work the way I am today. But for now, it’s all about the memories.

Renee Rose: Are you working on a new book right now? If so, tell me about it.
Alice Dark: I’m working on several. That’s the way I usually work. More that one story in the pan at a time.

One is a spanking story. I’ve nearly finished Natalie gets Spanked. It’s one of the rare M/f stories about punishment that I’ve written, and it’s coming along nicely. It’s a short story. No more than 8,000 words or so. But it’s fun! A clumsy waitress, a bad tempered manager …

I’ve also written a ghost story. It’s a male/female story, though she’s somewhat Dominant. I don’t like it yet. It started out as an attempt to write YA, that’s not working. It’s a good story, but doesn’t read correctly. I’m going in for the overhaul. These are consenting adults. Sure, one of them is dead and ghost, but that should stop the fun!

I’ve got a good start on a vampire novella. She’s working her way through the wars, slaughtering as she goes, but also having a bit of fun with the soldiers.

The last story I’m working on is more of a germ of a story than the actual thing. I’ve got this vision of an alien planet where there’s a lot of spanking going on. It’s almost like a religion. I’ve put a couple of fragments on my blog – http://www.bentalice.com – but I haven’t firmed up the story.

Renee Rose: Are you presently in a spanking relationship?
Alice Dark: I am. We both claim to Top and bottom at will, but my girlfriend is a better bottom than I am. And she would prefer me to Top whenever possible.

Renee Rose: What is your favorite spanking instrument?
Alice Dark: OTK with my hand on her bare butt. *O my gosh* I love that. Just writing the words makes me wiggle in my seat!

Renee Rose: Will you spank me?
Alice Dark: I’ll get my nun’s robe. You get your white blouse and plaid skirt. Now lay face down across my lap, present me your pretty ass, and tell me what it is you’ve done to deserve my attentions.

Renee Rose: Mmmmm.

Is Spanking Romantic?

Is Spanking Romantic?

I ran across this topic once on a romance readers forum - I think it might have been Romantic Times. Turns out there were no spanko readers in that group. They all slapped that concept down hard. (I know, I know-- it is pitifully easy to pun where spanking is concerned).

I was totally disappointed, because I absolutely loved the old romance novels of the 70's and 80's that featured a dominant hero taking the heroine over his knee for a sound spanking. But reading the posts from offended readers helped me understand that if you're not a spanko, it's hard to understand how spanking could possibly be romantic.

I've seen many attempts to explain why it might be arousing, including discussions about the pudendal nerve which can be stimulated and even lead to orgasm through spanking alone. For others, the endorphins released leave the spankee feeling calm and relaxed. Spanking can be both physically arousing and psychologically arousing if the recipient likes to release control, thus being more free to feel.

I imagine it's the last one-- the psychological explanation-- that fits best for me, because the thought of spanking made me go weak in the knees long before I'd ever experienced one. I clearly remember a dream I had as a teen of being kidnapped, tied to a chair and hauled away (while in the chair-- I know, that doesn't make sense-- it was a dream, all right?) In the dream, I'd offered my kidnapper complete surrender. I remember that I had a sense of trust, that as long as obeyed, everything would be fine, or even more than fine-- I was almost excited to go with him. When I woke, however, I was terribly disturbed about the fact that I hadn't fought at all. I wondered what that said about me-- I even feared I would be a victim of sexual assault or some other terrible crime as a result of my lack of self-defense. (Teenagers are very dramatic).

What I see now is that I was dreaming of submission. I secretly wanted a man to come and carry me away, to dominate me and take me over his knee as an act of love. The idea of a man taking such possession of his woman that he is willing to spank is so very hot to me. Now that I know I'm not alone, I am so thrilled to write those fantasies into romance stories for my fellow spankos.

In my latest release, Deathless Love, the heroine Kate is fortunate enough to find a man who can help bring her spanking fantasies to reality-- until the fact that he's a vampire seriously complicates their exploration of kink.

New Release - No Return

No Return has been Released!

If you have a second, would you mind zipping over to Amazon to "like" the book and agree with the tags listed? Here's the link: http://amzn.to/OzfRkE

Here's a little excerpt:

“Okay, so here are the rules: no more than one hour total to shower, get ready and eat breakfast. Then you'll sit and work on your thesis. You may take a 10 minute break every hour, but that's it. Understand?”
She rolled her eyes.
“Did you just roll your eyes?” he asked in a “Oh no you didn't” kind of tone.
She froze and then started backing away. He could feel her fear—real fear, not mixed with any sexual thrill that he could sense. She was probably so sore that the thought of a spanking was too terrifying at the moment.
“Oh no. No, Dom,” she backed her way into the kitchen table. “Huh uh. I do not consent. No.”
He pinned her against the kitchen table and leaned down, looking into her eyes. “You still don't trust me?” he asked softly.
She faltered then, uncertainty crossing her face. He sensed her fear recede. She dropped her eyes. He turned her slowly around and bent her over the kitchen table, reaching around to unbutton her shorts. He slid his thumbs into the waistband of her panties and slowly slid them both down together. Her fear flared again, this time with a thrill of sexual energy and the wonderful smell that accompanied it.
Her sweet little bottom was still red from the spanking he'd given her earlier, although the color had started to fade from beet to blush. It was amazing how quickly that tender flesh could regenerate. He gave her three slow but hard spanks and then rubbed. Then he pulled up her panties and shorts. Her relief poured out of her in a rush. She turned around and fell against him in an embrace. “I love you,” she breathed. Then she froze, and fear of exposure came out of her like a blast. “I mean—I didn't mean it like—”
“I'm pretty fond of you, myself,” he interrupted her lightly, running a fang along the outside of her ear.

Jade Cary on Implied Consent and more

Renee Rose: Do you use a pen name, and if so, how did you come up with it?
Jade Cary: I do use a pen name. Jade is a nickname my mother called me, and Cary is my maternal grandmother’s maiden name.

Renee Rose: Tell me about your latest release.
Jade Cary:To Love a Woman is about a December-May relationship between Marissa Harrison, a 52-year-old widowed mother of two adult children, and thirty-year-old Keaton Ross, a good friend of Marissa’s son, Tom. They meet very casually at a party, where the intent is to match Keaton with Marissa’s daughter, Carly. Keaton, of course, has other ideas. I think it’s a beautiful, and very realistic love story between two passionate people who did not believe they could love this way.

Renee Rose: What is your favorite story/book that you have ever written and why?
Jade Cary: I really love The Point of it All, my first one. I love the characters, and I think the storyline is suspenseful and romantic. It’s not all hearts and flowers and gentle caresses. It’s a tough book, with some pretty gritty violence. I tried to make the relationship between Val and Diana real, with flaws and all. It was the hardest to write; it gave me fits, in fact. I struggled and fought my way through a good majority of it. I took a lot of risks, and it wasn’t easy by any stretch, but it is my favorite. I’m very proud of it.

Renee Rose: How many books have you written? Are they all spanking fiction?
Jade Cary: I have written two spanking romances, and one mainstream novel under another name.

Renee Rose: How long have you been writing spanking fiction?
Jade Cary: Oh, many years! I wrote a lot of stories before I worked up the guts to submit one for publication. I submitted The Point of it All to Lazy Day Publishing, and they responded almost immediately. I was pleased, and amazed.

Renee Rose: Are you okay in your kink?
Jade Cary: Sure. I’m too old now to worry about how it looks to others, or what others think. It’s a great place to be.

Renee Rose: Is writing your full time gig?
Jade Cary: Yes. I write poetry, I write mainstream fiction, I study the craft. I’m also a mother, a wife, a daughter and a friend.

Renee Rose: What do you like to see in spanking fiction?
Jade Cary: That is a great question, Renee. I like to see a relationship that is real. I’m fine with reading a 300 page book if the author needs time to develop the relationship between the h and H. I like to see a lot of love and chemistry and strength in the characters, even if one of them has to submit to discipline once in a while. I like to see maturity in both H and h, or at least a development of maturity by the end. I don’t like scenes that are too brutal or that go on and on, with the pile of implements laid out because she forgot her cell phone. Mostly, I prefer romances that contain spanking, rather than spanking stories. I’d rather see one good spanking in the whole book that is done well and makes sense to their relationship, than to see a scene on every page. I’m writing one now that is turning into a one-discipline-scene story, because it fits the characters. My editors and spanko readers may want more, but if it doesn’t fit with the characters, I won’t do it. In The point of it All, I think there are 8 scenes. It fit with who Val and Diana are. In To Love a Woman, the scenes are more play, with one or two ‘discipline’ scenes, because it made sense.

Renee Rose: What is your writing process?
Jade Cary: I get the kids out of the house, and then I sit and write. I’m usually late picking them up.

Renee Rose: What's your take on consensual vs. non-consensual spankings in fiction?
Jade Cary: Another great question! Thank you. I enjoy the non-consent best, because I enjoy the struggle. I like to see HIS determination, and HER fighting it tooth and nail, and not winning. Any good spanking fiction story will, of course, have her come to grips with what has happened (or is about to happen), agree—even if only to herself—that it is/was perhaps deserved, or that she ‘needed it’, and she moves on from there. The non-con works best, in my opinion, when the hero has ‘earned’ the right to do this. He earns it by being above reproach, by being straight-up alpha, by walking the walk, by knowing her so well, knowing her ‘need’ so intuitively, that he gives her what she needs unapologetically and promises to do it as often as he deems necessary. And, by not slitting his throat in his sleep, or leaving him forever, she grants him permission to do just that; the consent, in other words, is implied. I’m a HUGE implied-consent fan.

The Point of it All was all implied consent, yet many reviewers of the book don’t see it that way. She came to him, loved him, did not want to lose him, and in once scene prior to Val delivering a spanking, he reminds Diana of something he said earlier: that he would gladly tame her, and work hard to earn the right to do it. He then asks her if he had, indeed earned the right. She answers, ‘I haven’t walked away yet, have I?’ It was a scene wrote specifically to show that consent can be, and with them, was, implied rather than explicit. There was never a ‘I’m going to do this, do you agree?’ I don’t enjoy that overmuch. It depends, really, on how fleshed out the characters are and how well-written it is.

Consensual scenes or dynamics I enjoy less, because I could never see myself, personally, ‘consenting’ to anything! It’s a surrender of a different fella, and I prefer to read and write the non-con stuff WITH a clear understanding that she is getting what she needs and not necessarily what she wants. It’s a great dynamic.

Renee Rose: What traits makes a hero hot to you?
Jade Cary: The pure, unapologetic alpha, the one who stands out in a crowd of men, who leads by example and not by brawn and bullying, and who, when he falls for a woman, he falls hard; The hero who will do anything for the one he loves, and expects the same from her in return. The hero who has a keen sense of what his lady wants, in addition to what she needs, and he gives it to her. A hero who commands respect, and perhaps her submission, and because of his strength and goodness, she gives him that gift gladly. And finally, the one who earns the right to take that lead in whatever form he deems necessary because it is what they both need.

Renee Rose: What gives your heroines strength?
Jade Cary: The love of a good man who is stronger than she is adds to her strengths. My heroines are strong, smart and accomplished in their own right, and when they meet this man, his strength gives her the push to be better, and maybe at the same time gives her permission to let go for him, give some of herself and her burdens over to him. Doing it all on your own all the time is hard, and when that special man comes along and offers to take some of it off your shoulders, it’s intoxicating.

Renee Rose: Are you like any of your heroines?
Jade Cary: Yes, I think I am. I base my heroines on who I am, as well as who I wish I was, or would like to be. They behave the way I do, or would, in a given situation, and they all strive to be better in the end, like I do. I think we writers probably all put a little, or a lot, of ourselves in our characters. Makes it real.

Renee Rose: Are you working on a new book right now? If so, tell me about it.
Jade Cary: I’m working on a romance-suspense about a mistaken-identity murder that brings a cop and a lady doctor together. I’ve also got a couple others in the works, but it’s too early to talk about them.

Renee Rose: Are you presently in a spanking relationship?
Jade Cary: I pride myself on being extremely careful what I wish for.

Renee Rose: What is your favorite spanking instrument?
Jade Cary: The good ol’ hand. It’s personal, and both the spanker and the spankee experience pain, which I think is fair. How can you beat it (no pun intended)? To Love a WomanTo Love a Woman The Point Of It All by Jade Cary Jade Cary
