Healthy Eating
What do you eat? Why do you eat it? How do you eat it? When do you eat it? Answering these questions and others sincerely, adequately and correctly will save us a lot of health risks, heartbreak and headaches. So, whatever you do eat, eat well so you live well as we look at the basics of healthy eating choices and diets. The key to a healthy diet is to eat the right number of calories or the right quantity of foods and drinks.
- A healthy diet preserves and improves our general health and wellbeing. Healthy diet offers proper and adequate fluid, micronutrients, macronutrients and adequate calories to the body. Healthy diet consists of mainly vegetables, fruits, whole grains with little or no processed food and sweeteners in beverages. Medical and governmental institutions publish dietary guides to educate the populace on what to eat and what not to eat. Nutritional values labels must be placed on food packages to help consumers make quality choices. A healthy lifestyle involves daily exercises coupled with eating healthy diet. This will lower risk of heart diseases, obesity, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, high bad cholesterol and cancer. Medical nutrition therapies are specialized diet for people with different health challenges. The World Health Organization made five recommendations on healthy diet:
1.Maintain a healthy weight by eating roughly the same number of calories that your body is using.
2. You must limit intake of fats such that fat contribute not more than 30% of your total calories need. Go for unsaturated fats. Avoid trans fats.
3. Eat at least 400 grams of fruits and vegetables daily. A healthy diet also contains legumes (e.g. lentils, beans), whole grains and nuts.
4. You should limit the intake of simple sugars to less than 10% of calorie (below 5% of calories or 25 grams may be even better).
5. Limit salt / sodium from all sources and ensure that salt is iodized. Less than 5 grams of salt per day can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease.
- Energy we derive from food we eat or drinks we take is measured as calories. The more we eat and drink the more the calories, the more fat we acquire. Hence the increase in our weight because the excess is stored up as fat. True is also the opposite. The less we eat or drink the less calories we use up.
- When we eat and drink more calories than we use up, our bodies store the excess as body fat. If this continues, over time we put on weight. We need energy to contain and survive our day to day activities and for a good functional body system. So, we must balance our energy intake and energy consumption or energy used up. An important part of a healthy diet is balancing the energy you put into your body with the energy you use up. The more physical work we do or activities, the more the energy we use up.
- Check the nutritional label on your food containers to get the calorie value of what you eat. Like how many calories are contained in 100 grams or 100 milliliters of the food or drink you consume, so you can compare the calorie content of different products. This help you make necessary adjustments and informed decisions. Calorie information on nutritional label helps you make choices that monitor and control your weight.
- Also, you could get calorie counters online for your phones and computers.
- Activities and regular exercises will help you lose weight and get rid of excess fat. Visit the gym and vary you diet. Your depth or intensity of activity determines your dissipation of energy or calories. So, there must be a balance between the energy gained and energy lost or consumed.
- Gluttony or eating more than your body requires or can accommodate will increase your body weight. The excess food is stored as excess fat and will create health problems. If you eat or drink less than your body needs you create problems too. So, we must strike a balance.
Balanced Diet
You should also eat a wide range of foods to make sure you're getting a balanced diet and your body is receiving all the nutrients it needs. Expert recommendation is 2,500 calories for men and 2,000 calories for women daily. This might differ with regional demands.

The Last Curse
Once upon a time, grandma began, a night hunter with his headlamp was approaching this river and when he saw a lion he climbed a tree leaving his headlamp underneath the tree. The mystery lion headed toward the shining light. When he aimed to shoot, the Lion spoke in a human voice begging him not to.
“You have been killing my children and that is why you wife of ten years marriage has been barren. Do unto others as you wish them do to you.” A female benevolent voice from a lion? Out of fear he shot but nothing happened to the lion. Then an eerie sound began to come from the direction of the river. He jumped down and ran home dumb. People began to notice dead bloated bodies of big animals, females and their young as if dunked with legs up, till it happened to a visiting mother and daughter. The hunter recovered after some years and told his story. He stopped hunting.
Like the Dead Sea, Ori River swallows everything that crosses its path. This dread lingered for generations.

Mamman picked up a total stranger from a night club and took her to his home.

"Oh, my name? Linda. You are funny. How can one forget her name?"
"While I was a child a read a book titled, 'I forgot my name.'" They both laughed cuddling each other.
"Melinda, you are wonderful. Not only is your body soft, tender, slippery but a beautiful name, Meme... Melin... what?"
She smiled. So quick to hook him? "Linda not Melinda..." she answered assuredly.
Quickly Mamman detached from her as if shocked by electricity. "Not again?" he retorted.
"What is wrong?" she asked. I said my name is Linda."
Mamman shook again. "Beautiful Serpent! What is wrong is that Linda means Beautiful Serpent." Mamman took his pants that he'd hurriedly removed and the sexual urge varnished. "Not again, not again," he mumbled to himself.
Linda laughed hilariously in such a way that drew Mamman's attention. Have you gone crazy too, laughing like a jackass..."
"Ignorance is a disease?" Linda muttered.
MM as his friends called him got annoyed. "You mean am not educated enough... I have two masters degrees..."
"Two master's degrees indeed and you are not powerful enough..."
"What an insult... not powerful enough?
"To control your libido before a twenty-year-old damsel..." Linda laughed with piteous and mesmerizing looks. "Look MM," Linda held his hands.
Mamman retorted, "You see. Go, you are not human. Only my close friends call me by that pet name..." he withdrew his hands, more frightened now.
"There he goes again... Common sense! From the spelling of your name you can deduce that. Mamman, two syllabi." Linda now stopped laughing. "Let me explain my name. Linda is derived from the same root as the linden tree, with reference to a shield made of that wood, but may have become associated with Germanic lind meaning 'soft, tender," the likeness of Linden tree showing gentle personality." She avoided adding that Linde may represent old German Lindi or Linda, meaning a serpent. She further said that in Italian, Spanish or Portuguese language, the word linda, which is the feminine form of lindo, means "beautiful, pretty, cute and clean. In South Africa, Linda, means 'Wait' -IsiZulu and IsiXhosa.

Looking at Mamman her face distorted, her hair swam and her teeth transformed into fangs to reveal her true identity. Linda left MM in disarray. At least she'd destroyed another man. In his worry MM searched out the meanings of succubi and incubi. He cried out. The damage is irreversible. He never actually had coition with Linda but with the serpent living inside her. Inside Linda lived a huge snake that opened up its mouth in Linda's private part. Each time an unprotected man sleeps with a female demon called succubus, his spermatozoa are deposited into the serpent's open mouth and not the vagina. They collect his sperms and use it as point of contact to undo the man. Or in reverse they introduce an evil deposit, disease, or one trouble or the other. Especially in the case of incubus sleeping with a woman in her dream. So also, if a male demon called incubus sleeps with a sleeping woman such evil result happens.
An incubus is a demon in male form who, according to mythological and legendary traditions, lies upon sleeping women in order to engage in sexual activity with them. Its female counterpart is a succubus. Psalm 89:34-35. My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. Once have I sworn by my holiness that I will not lie unto David
Covenant Defined: Covenant is a pack, treaty, agreement between persons or nations and in the Bible between God and Man (Gen.21:27, 1 Sam. 18:3,1King 20:34, Gen. 9:9-11; 17:1-14). In Old Testament usage is a promise (obligatory or joint obligatory), human or divine, mutual undertaking between God and Man or Israel. In N.T it is called New covenant (Heb. 9:15), the second covenant (Heb. 8:7), a better covenant (Heb. 7:22). Here we will dwell on the covenant between GOD and YOU, a better covenant based on AGAPE LOVE.

Covenant Love: It is God's kind of love. AGAPE is seeking the welfare and betterment of another regardless of how we feel. Agape does not have the primary meaning of feelings or affection. Jesus displayed it when he went to the cross and died for you and me regardless of how He felt. In the gospels Jesus prayed, "… not as I will, but as thou wilt. Eros Love (sexual or physical passion), Storge Love (family affection between mother and infant, father, children), Phileo Love (friendship love), may all fail but not Agape.
God is Love (agape), Agape is shed abroad in our heart, rooted and grounded and overflow in promise (Eph. 3:17-19). You are in my heart always Agape says. I think of how you are faring always. Agape is always doing, action not just words unlike other kinds of love. You can give without Love but you cannot love without Giving. When I see the blood I will pass over you (Ex.12:13 - Here blood was smeared on top Lintel post of the door and by middle of the two side door post. If you draw a vertical line from top smear and horizontal line from two sides smear of the post you get a cross).When I remember the cross I remember you. When I see Jesus Christ I remember you.
Covenant Vs. Contract: Unlike covenant contract can be broken but covenant is binding.
KEY WORD in This Relationship is REMEMBER: God remembers all the time the covenant oath come rain, come shine. It is a legal word.
- And God remembered Noah (Gen 8:1)
- When God destroyed the cities ...God remembered Abraham (Gen 19:29)
- And God remembered Rachel, and opened her womb (Gen 30:22)
- God remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac… (Ex. 2:24)
- He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward Israel (Psa. 98:3)
- …ye shall blow an alarm …and ye shall be remembered before the LORD….be saved from your enemies (Num.10:9)
God will always remember you. This is a good prayer word to confess or use in prayers to God. Oh Lord remember…
Cutting Blood Covenant: Blood covenant is unbreakable and forever. Blood was needed in O.T. It was blood of animals but with believers it is blood of Christ already shed for us once and for all. Is a better sacrifice - no more sacrifice of any animal. (Heb. 9:22-24).
- Covenant is based on both strengths and weakness of the partners, not just on the good. You bear the burden of each other. There is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
- Ordinary family covenant unlike blood covenant may last for 8 generations
Covenant between God and Abraham: When God promised Abraham an inheritance - Abraham demanded for a sign as an assurance that he will come out an inheritor, come out of his childlessness, unfruitfulness. How do I know that I will come out of this poverty? This insecurity,this lack. God then cut/divided or established a covenant with him. He asked Abraham to get 3 animals of 3 years old each (number 3 again and again-God of pattern) and cut them by the spine and lay them side by side with the blood flowing in between. God passed through the blood between those animals (Gen 15:8-18).
Covenant Promise cannot be broken
-Even as this animal is dead I will stand in this blood by you even in death. Blood smell is not easy to forget.
Covenant Seal is the scar created: scars cannot be forgotten. Scars of Jesus are all over us for good.
Gal. 6:17: From henceforth let no man trouble, me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
Covenant Name: Exchange of names. Each partner takes on the other’s name. God took the name of Abraham when HE said “I am the God of Abraham” His love is my love. His enemies are my enemies. His friends are my friends too. We have and use the name of Jesus Christ our lord and savior. God see us through the mirror of Jesus Christ, as he look at you, he does not see your weakness but Jesus instead, the propitiation for our sins.
Covenant Ceremony: Let me illustrate covenant between a Teacher and a General. Both will pass through the blood. The General will surrender his uniform with the stars that made him a general and put on the teacher. As they exchange coat, gifts they also exchange what they are and possess physically. And is enforced spiritually too. By this arrangement whatever you are I am and whatever you have I have. So teacher you have access to all I have access to. You are mine and I am yours.
So it is between you and God. Though God is still God and you are still a child of God -a kind of God. In Psalm 82:6 God said, “I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High” Abraham became a partner with God friend of God, and God changed his name from Abram to Abraham (before this time he was called Abram - Gen 17:5) God the Principal partner and you the executive (executing) partner in the affairs of men. Glory! Everything about you have changed - your role and participation in life. Live like a blue blooded royal blood you are. Not arrogantly ‘cos arrogants arrogate (i.e. claim something without right).Kings don’t ‘cos they are there. They own it by blood. Stand up beloved. Unlike the General your weakness, failures, shortcoming in life and marriage has been swallowed by the greatness of God. Praise God. I feel like jumping up now (To be continued).

CHRIST OUR COMMANDER knows when to supply the needed command, grace, instruments, guidance and strength. Col. 2:15 says HE spoiled principalities and made an open show (public disgrace) of them. The commanders VOICE is always clear and loud and that we must follow if we want to prevail. “My sheep hear my voice”. In the army, it is obey the last order. Total obedience.
A Soldier’s Preparedness: 2Ti 2:4 says that No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier. Clean up yourself soldier. Train up yourself to what God want you to be or who he want you to be.

Intelligence Unit: that spy out the strengths, weaponry, and the weakness of the enemy like the 12 spies sent to search out the promised land of Canaan. We were asked to not only pray but watch. In God’s army we will need or operate in discerning of spirits (discerning of spirits not human, neither is it psychology which is study of human behavior), the word of knowledge (is gift from the Spirit and not sensual sensory canal knowledge), the word of wisdom. God’s secret (revelation) services will spy out the subtle dives of the enemy and let us know how to go about the battle. These services can be within you or God can use others in the team. The only Hero in deliverance is JESUS CHRIST. When we pray for the sick with these services operational, revealing the enemies plans, demon get surprised and run away. ”Jesus I know, Paul I know but…Acts 19:15” Most time demons run away on seeing Jesus or ask him to keep away from them.
Signal -Telecommunication Network unit will need the gifts of diverse kinds of tongues, interpretation of tongues and prophesy to dismantle the devil’s network and internetwork. Imagine in Acts 2:4 - 6 as they spoke in diverse tongues… every man heard them speak in his own language. Imagine the kind of conviction of sin that will befall sinners as the Spirit of God reveal their deep secrets.
Frontline Soldiers, Land army and paratroopers are like Evangelist, Apostles and pastors. This will need the power gifts - gifts of Faith by the same Spirit; the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; the working of miracles;
