War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells

War of the Worlds exceeded any expectations I had. While at times I struggled, given the agedness of the prose and the many defunct words and phrases, Wells entertained with insights and observations that are both timeless and eerily prescient. I am hugely impressed with the attention to detail, both of the chaos of war and the movements and machinations of the Martians. Continue reading →
