"You give hope to men." "I keep none for myself."
Wherein Jack got behind.
Why?
I can't tell you. It's a secret....at least for a little while. But trust me, I had a good reason for getting behind.
Now I am here to say sorry and catch up.
First is the lovely cover for Worth of a King. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3... Originally I was a co-author for this book, but when I stopped writing for so long I dropped out. Can I still say it is going to be a grand story? Too bad, I just did.
The cover is incredible, don't you think??
The second book I got behind on is by my Kindred Spirit, Jenelle. It is the final book in her four book series.
Blurb:
War threatens. The game board is set. But the Minstrel is missing...
Advancing his growing power, the Dread Prince breaks free of his prison and brings a faction of dragons under his control, stirring unrest and hatred in the newly united kingdoms of Tellurae Aquaous.
When the dragon wards of Kallayohm are targeted in a ruthless attack, the High King travels there to administer justice. But the trial results in a crippling blow that leaves him reeling.
On the heels of defeat, an unexpected message from the erstwhile Minstrel arrives, pleading with his friends for rescue. Together, the High King and his companions must follow the fragile trail, braving peril and darkness that will test the measure of them all...

Author Bio (optional)Jenelle Schmidt grew up in the northern-Midwest. She now resides with her husband and their four adorable children in the wilds of Wisconsin. Jenelle fell in love with reading at a young age during family story-times when her father would read out loud to her and her siblings each night before bed. Her imagination was captured by authors such as Madeleine L’Engle, J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Lloyd Alexander. It wasn’t long before she began making up her own stories and sharing them with her family. To this day she enjoys creating exciting adventure tales filled with poignant themes and compelling characters in the fantasy and sci-fi genres. And now for the cover!!!
So cool, right?!
Okay, I'm sorry. I have to be off. I have homework which needs done.

"We must away, at break of day."
Wherein Jack got behind.
I've seen things....
Dark things....
Black Rider things.....
Oh yeah, and Strider.
Aragorn is probably my favorite character, both in book and movie. But it is hard for me to decide. Because I love everyone in the Lord of the Rings so much. Just sometimes Aragorn will say something and I will wish to be on an adventure with him.
Sadly though I am behind on my adventure. I just got to part two. I am going to try and catch up this weekend and this evening, though at the same time I am re-watching Fulmetal Alchemist. And I sometimes get distracted - to clarify I am not watching and reading at the same time, I read and then watch some episodes and then read - but I get sidetracked because Mustang is hot....*Cough*
I am also behind on my Narnia reading. I am only just on book two. But I can finish that one this weekend and be back on track by Monday.
Okay, I can't think what else to ramble about. I have no new publishing news and writing is going a major overhaul. And basically I'm too sleepy to whine about the lack of publishing news and too sleepy to explain the overhaul. So that is for another day.
Besides, Aragorn and Mustang are calling.

"I'm leaving now, and I don't mean to come back."
In which Jack is going on a long holiday.
And may not return.
Wouldn't that be nice? An adventure with a Dragon and some dwarves and elves and....
Okay, okay. I won't be leaving for good.
But Jack is going to Mount Doom.
https://lentenlordoftherings.wordpres...
For Lent this year, among other resolves, I will be reading The Lord of the Rings (And because I'm me, Narnia too.)
So off I go. On dangerous quests and adventures.

"It'll probably blow up!" "Then at least we'll die fighting." "Oh, that's comforting."
Wherein Tag, Jack is it.
Also it was The Death Cure I watched. Weird movie. Won't say more, but...yeah.
I was tagged by my kindred spirit, Jenelle. http://jenelleschmidt.com/ THANK YOU, FRIEND!
1. Your car breaks down in the middle of nowhere and the last fantasy cast you read comes to help. Are they useful or no? I last read Into the Land of Unicorns. I think the characters would be a little help but I wouldn't trust them not to make things worst first.
2. You go to bed one evening and wake up in the lair of the villain of the last fairy tale you read, where are you and how do you plan to get out?I am trying to remember the last fairy tale I read. I know it was one of the Grimm ones. Oh yeah, it was the Valiant Little Tailor. I am in a cave with trolls. I would get out by baking them a pie...I don't know why. I just assume they love pie.3. You are transported into a fantasy realm and given a mythical creature as a companion and best friend… which mythical creature do you get?A DRAGON! I just really want a Dragon, okay?4. In a strange series of coincidences, you end up needing to take the place of your favorite fantasy hero or heroine. Who are you? This is hard. I think I have to go with Peter from Narnia. 5. To go along with question #4, now that you are that character, is there anything you would do differently than that character, now that you are running the show?Hmmm....Nope. I would still chop the fella's head off and duel both Miraz and the White Witch.6. If you were yourself in a fantasy novel, what role do you think you would play in the story? The one who thought it was a grand idea until I got stuck in the rain on a cold night. Then I would miss home. Basically I would be Bilbo.7. One morning, as you are going about your daily business, you pick up an everyday item and a voice booms in your head with prophetic words about your future. What object is it, and what is your prophecy?I was going to go with magic carpet but I don't ever pick my carpet up. Well, I don't do my chores until evening usually. I do my homework in the morning. So it would be my school book. And it might go like this. This chose you made.
Is your own fault
No one forced you
Too go back to school.(A poet I am not...)8. You are transported into a magical realm and turned into a mythical beast… what beast/fantasy creature do you want to be?I love Dragons, but if I have to be something I would rather be a Griffin. I don't know why, but I just want to be a Griffin.9. If you could read your way into any fantasy realm, but the catch is that you can never leave, would you? Which realm would you choose? For sure, for sure. I would read myself in so fast. And of course it would be Narnia. Maybe during the reign of Caspian or Rillian....or Peter. Hmmm....10. As you are going about your normal day, you discover that you have a magical power. What is it?I want the magical power to capture Calsifer and make him cook my bacon for me each morning. There, the end. Everyone who glances at this is TAGGED!Now I'm off to work on the history of Nightshade. Huzzah.

"Please Tommy, please."
Ten guesses as to what I saw last night.
I need to keep this short because I did go to a movie last night and got behind on homework. Naughty me. Anyway, I got my homework done but I am determined to edit before bed. Edit both my book and one for a friend.
But I had to ask....how do you all feel about audio books?

Wherein Jack wants reviews
But don't we all?
Is anyone interested in getting their hands on So Much Owed very early and reading, providing feed back, and writing a review on Goodreads?

"You're a princess, you don't have to settle."
Wherein Jack can't life.
If you need her she will be in her tree house.
I have been doing some deep thinking the last few months. Nothing I can share of course because I like to be all mysterious like that.
Okay, I can share some of it.
Some of the deep things I have been mulling over involve my writing. Since the death of my friend it has been very hard to write. There have been so many points where I was ready to give up on it and never pick up the pen again, but deep down I knew that would only make her sad. She was a "never give up" type. So here I am. Not giving up.
But what does the future look like? That has been the big question.
I got one book published, but what next?
How about writing again? Yeah, I figured that was a good first step as well. I have slowly been getting better, so now I feel like I want to take it one step farther and write a little every day. And edit a little every day.
And here's the big thing. I. Am.....going to find myself an editor to hire! (Shocking, the dyslexic Author is going to get serious help.) (P.S. I always get an editor. But this shall be more official.)
And being me I am going to start this, and all my other new mysterious schemes, as soon as possible. Like today. Because once I get an idea I over achieve it. That's just how I roll.
Right now I am hunting down editors and digging out my research books and fantasy books and trying to decide what to send to the editor first.
Mayhaps I need a second opinion from you, my readers. Mayhaps. I will do some more thinking.
Because I try not to be overly rash...try. I never succeed but I try.
Good night. Research is calling. Though not as loudly as sleep is.
If you need her she will be in her tree house.

'He's not usually like this...oh no."
Wherein Jack has writing friends!!!!!!!
Today I am doing a bit of promoting.
It is hard to be a new Author. Even harder to be alone and a new Author. Setting up a blog or website, making contact with readers, FINDING readers...all of that is hard and daunting. But the thing about Authors is we like to help fellow Authors out. I wouldn't be where I am today without the help of many Authors who promoted my book, linked to my blog, or just mentioned me on facebook.
Now it is my turn. And I am very honored to help two new Authors out who are jumping feet first into publishing.
First is Grace Kent. She is an Author of Christian romance novels. She is a good friend of mine and a wonderful lady, and a wonderful Author. I am currently reading her novel, Defiant and am really enjoying it even though I don't typically go for romance novels.
Grace has her own website set up, here. https://www.gracekentbooks.com/. She is also on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/gracekentbooks/ and Goodreeads https://www.goodreads.com/author/show....
I highly recommend looking more into her books. She is not published yet but she still might be handing out advanced copies in exchange for reviews. And if not she is diligently seeking out a publisher so it would just be a good idea in general to keep an eye on her website and books.
The second Author I am promoting is my dear friend Annamaria DeLallo. She writes delightful children's books, the Dragon and Martin Series. I completely adore these books and am SO happy to be her beta reader because I get to read them all early. Even if you are an adult I highly recommend these books. They are so fun and sweet. (And if you ask she might send an advanced copy in exchange for a review.)
Annamaria blogs at https://annamariadelallo.blogspot.com/. She is also on Goodreads, https://www.goodreads.com/author/show... and Facebook, though she doesn't have an Author page set up yet. https://www.facebook.com/annie.delall....
Annamaria has submitted her first book to Dove Publishers and is waiting to hear back from them so, hopefully, her book will be out this year!
I highly suggest you take the time to meet these wonderful Authors!

"That's not how the force works!"
Wherein Jack has super glue on her glasses.
Why? Because I am Jack and that is what happens to me. Can I still see? Oh sure. Technically I don't even need the things so in a round about way it is all good.
This is going to be short. I have to slip over on my other email and write a letter before bed and I would like to curl up early enough to read my book.
School started back up. I realized I am close to my degree though so I am seriously thinking of taking the spring off and working only on my writing and editing. I really want to get the Blade books out and finish my NaNo book.
I have not heard anything yet on Finding the Magic, but I will keep you all posted the moment I hear anything. Probably in caps. Something like I GOT AN EMAIL FROM MY PUBLISHER!
My week of doctors is now over. Tomorrow I have to give Dog a brush and a bath and clean my floors and read another chapter in my school book...then SEMGOL IS FREE FOR THE WEEKEND!
Okay, that's all I have. My book is begging to be read so I should get a start on the email.

"Go away."
In which Jack....
That's kind of how my mind has been working this week. One long blank after another. It isn't that I don't have plenty to keep me busy, I think I just have too much. There are dr. visits, and eye dr. visits because APPARENTLY I still need glasses even though I've once again gone a year without them. *Cough cough* My adopted mom found out my glasses had been sat on and that I didn't replace them. So, next on my list of things I need to buy...glasses.
Dog has an eye infection so Monday she has to go to the dog doctor and then I have to go to the human one for a check up. We might go get doughnuts after because we don't like doctors.
Turns out there are a lot of dr. visits this week, mostly just that. I have to take my car in for a check up....er...oil change. Go get an Xray to see why my rib still hurts. Oh, and as if that isn't enough I have to go to the dentist too.
Maybe after it all I will have a giant hot chocolate.
What else?
Oh yeah. I watched the Last Jedi and though I didn't cry during the movie I did cry the next day. Definitely one of my favorites. Loved Luke in it.
Okay, that's all I have. I want to go and read.
