Updated Author Events Update for 2019 and 2020!
Here is an updated slate of new dates added to the book signing tour for ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK (Savant 2018).
Just a side note on that book, the ebook is now available on Amazon. I also have just released my side project that is not part of that trilogy. It is a ghost story that I wrote last year and now have just self-published the ebook and the paperback is on its way. My latest release is called SPECTER IN THE GLASS. Go check it out!
The McKinney Book Festival did not turn out well as we only had about 5 actual customers the whole day for the entire room of over 40 authors. That was bad. But the good news is I had a nice showing at Half Price Books this past Saturday here in Cedar Park. Thanks to all the great people I talked to!
Meanwhile, check out my new link that I added to my website for the video podcast!

Specter In the Glass Hits the Racks
My latest solo project, entitled, Specter in the Glass, has been released online everywhere as an ebook and the paperback is forthcoming.
It is my first attempt at paranormal fiction, and is an old-fashioned ghost story that I wrote last summer. I call it a throwback to the good old days of ghost story's. It's pretty tame compared to the gore-fests and torture porn that's out there now, but I think its a well thought out yarn that deserves a look. I really don't care for those gory slasher/torture things anyway, so I figured I'd do something that's subtle but also a grabber.
If you see what's coming at the end, then you're a pretty smart cookie :) This one (hopefully lol!) you won't see coming.
Spread the word and enjoy it yourself too!

Writing Update 06/12/19
It's been a while since I talked about future works that are on the backlist or coming down the pipe.
The two sequels of the One Night Trilogy are still waiting patiently for their debut. It's up to good ol' me to keep working toward 500 copies of ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK (Savant 2018) to be in print or sold in ebook form. The ebook has not been released yet but is forthcoming, I hope!
The ghost story that I completed last summer, Specter in the Glass, has tentative plans to be self-published but I participated in the quarterly 'PitMad Wars' on June 5th on Twitter, and actually got one fish on the hook for my pitch regarding this book. So, keeping my fingers crossed in seeing what the publisher (out of New Zealand) will say about that one. So, stay tuned.
ALSO! I'm very excited to say that work on the long-awaited sequel to Legend Upon the Cane is going very well. It won't be long before I have a rough draft of this work that will be self-published, in order to make commitments arranged in Nacogdoches, TX for next year. The sequel will be called....drum roll please....

Author Events Update for 2019 and 2020!
I needed to update the itinerary for this year and even some dates for 2020 too! I had a swell time in Winnsboro last month and enjoyed meeting many people in their quaint little town.
Last weekend was the book festival at Wimberley where I met some more great people. It may have been a small crowd, but my daughter and I had lots of fun making new friends there.
This weekend I am looking forward to the McKinney Book Festival, where we also get to visit my family there.
Thanks to great author networking, I have secured a couple dates this summer and fall at Half-Price Books and an event in Seguin called "Third Thursdays."
Meanwhile, check out my new link that I added to my website for the video podcast!

2019 Author Events UPDATE
UPDATE: Added in a new event in Winnsoboro, TX on May 4th. See below:
Well, we had some bad luck with the Brazos Valley Book Festival in Bryan, TX, slated for March 30th. It seems a great many authors lost faith in the promoter, the so-called "Texas Authors Assoc." So, dozens of them decided not to join the Bryan festival after a shockingly low turnout at the Take 190 festival in Killeen. It was safe to say there was little promotion for the event prior. I learned from other authors that many had spent their own money on advertising to generate some traffic but w/o any sponsors at all from the main promoter, it was a long day. This author personally saw 25-30 festival goers the entire 5 hours, so I can't say I blame the other participants for not making the journey to Bryan in 2 weeks.
Anyhoo...this is what remains now of the author events I have planned thus far for 2019. If I can find more events I'll post them here.

Belton Market Days - Oktoberfest and Christmas Sale!
We're getting geared up for the Belton Market Days in Downtown Belton, TX on October 20th from 9am-2pm. Me and my best helper, Isabella, will be in front of the McWha Book Store on Central Avenue that morning and early afternoon, selling my latest release, the time travel adventure, ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK (Savant 2018).
It will be a great fall day in October, so come celebrate fall and the coming holidays.
I will also be featuring my other literary books at the event as well, including Legend Upon the Cane, The Lunas, Take the Water tot he Mountain, Shaking the Tree, and The Brazilian. I will have my 2 collections of poetry available as well, Quill and Ink and The Hana Sun Does Shine.
Books make great Christmas gifts, so come on down and we'll see you in Belton on October 20th!

National Night Out, Oct 2nd
National Night Out is one week from today for our neighborhood at Cedar Park Town Center. Let's hope the weather holds up for this cool event. I'll be out in the Alamo Plaza park signing all my books, including the science fiction adventure, ONE NIGHT IN BANGKOK (Savant 2018). Hope to see everyone out there and get to meet more of the neighbors.
We had some bad weather in Dallas over the weekend so the McKinney Book Festival was rescheduled for next June. The DFW area got drenched with over 8" of rain in some places, so they made a good call in advance to not hold this event. Let's hope we have better luck at future events, including NNO next week and our outdoor event in Belton, TX 2 weeks later. Belton Market Days is Oct 20th! We'll be out in front of the McWha Bookstore that day (we hope!).

Upcoming Events
We had a small turn-out at the neighborhood booksale this past weekend but the Rees family was ready. I'm very grateful to my parents and my daughter for helping me get it all setup. The rain didn't cooperate though and only 2 die-hards came out to see us. Many thanks to both of them too!
More events are on the horizon though.
Sept. 22, I'll be at the McKinney Book Festival in McKinney, TX at the Church Street Auditorium, from 9am to 2pm. Should be a great event with over 40 authors there!
Oct. 2, Cedar Park, TX, I'll be at the Cedar Park Town Center neighborhood festivities for National Night Out. It goes on from 6pm to 9pm. See you out there neighbors!
