Promo Post: Fantastic Sale on Mia’s Erotic Romantic Suspense series!

~*~
Book 1—Spy Games: Trained for Seduction, on sale for $.99 until August 23!
Emma Walters didn’t choose to be a spy, but when her crazy father was caught selling bombs to the wrong people, she was given a choice–become a spy or rot in jail. Her exciting new life as agent Kate Wells becomes more so when she discovers her new boss is the agent–undercover and investigating her father at the time–who took her to third base. Emma is already half in love with the dark and dangerous Chase Sanders. Kate wants nothing more than for him to finish what he started, but he’s the devil incarnate. And one doesn’t make deals or fall in love with the devil.
If someone had told Chase he’d fall in love with a certain virgin when he was on his last mission, he would have shot them dead, sniper style. She was nothing more than collateral damage, damn it. But watching the sexy new spy morph into a bombshell killing machine is too much to bear. So when the powers that be command him to train her in the art of seduction for her first—and possibly last—mission, he’s scared witless. Making love to Kate means preparing her for sex with another man.
Somehow, Chase has to find a way to get Kate in—and out—of her mission without dying. And without falling in love.
This book is an erotic romance. It contains graphic language, explicit, smokin’ hot sex, menage, lots of juicy conflict, some suspense, a dark and dangerous spy boss and a spunky bombshell heroine.

Book 3—Spy Games: Endgame.
Sexy spy Charlotte Smith doesn’t go by the code name Dragon Queen because she’s sweet and cuddly. She’s cold, hard, and mean and has been training for the past five years to take down the men who destroyed her soul and left her burning for revenge. But when she meets her next assignment at a wedding, her body protests there’s much more to life than kicking asses and taking names. Actor Aaron James is witty, hot as hell, and he smells divine. But women with suicidal endgames don’t indulge in casual sex, and they definitely don’t fall in love.
Since meeting Charlotte at his brother’s wedding, Aaron’s life has been nothing but trouble. He’s plagued by memories of the kiss he stole from her, and he senses underneath her aloof nature and frosty glare is a woman with passion and fire. When Charlotte is assigned as his bodyguard after a botched kidnapping attempt, he’s psyched. What better way to get in her panties than have her pretend she’s his girlfriend? Until Aaron realizes too late he wants more than into her panties…he want’s Charlotte’s heart.
Contains: Explicit language, really hot sex, anal sex, toys, light bondage, very light BDSM, a really hot actor and his kick-ass spy bodyguard. M/F

Excerpt:
“All tied up like a gift, you are. Delightful.”
“I’m going to take the hood off now and have a peek at my present. I love Christmas, but I don’t like to wait.”
Her cheeks dented with a dimple as she smiled at him with mischief. She wrinkled her pert nose. God, could a woman’s skin get any creamier than that? Pale and flawless except for the scar under her left ear he noticed when she turned slightly, cocking her head as if to listen for something.
She did the unthinkable and straddled his lap, her face inches from his, looking into his eyes, the heat from her crotch searing his shaft. He should be afraid. Terrified. But something told him this wouldn’t be like his first time. If she just rode him into oblivion, this time he’d enjoy every moment of it.
“So handsome.” She touched his cheek with a gloved hand, her fingers warm through the leather. Her sleeve rode up and a tattoo around her wrist was exposed, a delicate chain of daisies with a yellow butterfly. He knew that, from somewhere, too, but didn’t remember seeing it on her when they danced. She wiggled on his lap, the ridge of his cock angling against the heat of her crotch through those thin black pants of hers.
He groaned through his gag. If she just rode him, even while he was bound and gagged, he’d be more than grateful for the gift. It was a new experience, to be so damned aroused over a woman, under such extremes. Maybe that’s what the problem was—this was way too extreme. He’d fought feelings like this for years. Now they were punching him in the gut as hard as she ground against his cock.
“Happy to see me again, are you? These ropes excite me, too. It’d be more exciting if it were the other way around. I love a good bondage session.”
He groaned again. He didn’t like kinky shit, but he did like Charlotte. Way, way too much.

Developing a Marketing Strategy with Amanda….
When it comes to being an author, there are some things I feel like I have a pretty good handle on. BUT there are some areas where I feel like I’m constantly floundering…managing my social media “stuff” is one of those areas where I feel like I’m drowning.
Amanda Shofner, The Path of Least Revision, is building a new online business and she ROCKS the social media side of the business so when she came to me to see if I’d be willing to test her new Author Marketing Strategies, I jumped on the opportunity!
OMG!! I have to admit, I honestly thought that I was doing pretty well, but I had high hopes for how she could “fix” me in the areas where I already knew I was lacking. But I got so much more than that from her. When it was all said and done, I had FOUR PAGES (see above photo) of specific suggestions on how to improve my website and online presence through the other social media markets. Some of the suggestions were big things, but so many were little details that I just missed but create such a better, overall presence as an author. Her suggestions were amazing.
Then I also got an hour long computer session with her where she answered my questions and even walked me through techno details on my computer/website that were giving me issues. Seriously y’all….I am so bad at the simplest little technology things, but she was able to walk me through things that would have taken me days to figure out on my own. This service she provides is fantastic…and such a bargain. Honestly, I told her to price it higher than she priced it because I got SO MUCH out of it.
So…to make a long story short. There are going to be a few changes on here and my other social medias. I don’t think it will be anything huge that you all will notice…except for the fact that hopefully, things will be more organized and I will seem more accessible to you, my wonderful readers.
This fall is going to be amazing. I have tons happening and I hope you all will hang around for all the fun, prizes, and of course…BOOKS!!!
BTW, Amanda has all kinds of services she offers for authors and just normal bloggers. She also does copy editing and proofreading of manuscripts. Here are the links to all her social media.

The Shadow of Mudflap…
To us, first responders are heroes. But for them, risking their lives is a normal, everyday thing.
Mudflap:
Born the baby of the family, Mudflap has always had something to prove to emerge out of the shadows of his older siblings. He spent eight years as a Special Ops elite sniper and is now a firefighter. But at his heart, he’s just a normal West Texas good old boy who loves his beer, women and football, until the Department of Defense calls him up to say they need his skills again.
Shanae:
Shanae is a first responder of a different sort. She’s a trauma nurse who works on a medical evacuation helicopter team. But while she lives a life full of adrenaline every day, it’s just a cover for her real life, where she hides in the shadows and is secret agent, Shadowfox for the Lubbock Foxtrot Team (LiFT). She’s living the kind of life that most people think exists only in movies and books.
Working for two different branches of the government, Mudflap and Shanae are in a race against time and the terrorists who threaten the very heart of West Texas life, football. They’re working toward the same goal, but find themselves in a confrontation against each other and the lies they’ve each had to hide behind. Can love win out in the end or will the cost be each other and their very lives?
First responders are heroes every day, but this story tells the tale of when they become even more and find love along the way. The key is for them to stay alive so that they can complete their mission and just maybe live happily ever after.
On an ordinary day, they save lives. On an extraordinary day, they save the country.

The Shadow of Mudflap is a book for The Red Cross!
When we began writing THE SHADOW OF MUDFLAP, we knew that it was going to be a book for charity. We weren’t sure at first what charity we wanted that to be, though. But as the story progressed, with an emphasis on first responders, we realized the obvious answer for our charity was the Red Cross.
ALL the proceeds from the sale of THE SHADOW OF MUDFLAP will be donated to the Lubbock, TX chapter of the American Red Cross.
The following information was provided to me by Shannon Smith, the Executive Director of the South Plains Chapter.
Mission Statement
The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. We provide disaster relief, health and safety training, and service to military families.
History
The Lubbock County Chapter of the American Red Cross was chartered on August 8, 1917 by President Woodrow Wilson and proudly serves the counties of Bailey, Cochran, Crosby, Dickens, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, King, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, Motley, Terry and Yoakum.
South Plains Regional Chapter Overview
The Red Cross is like no other organization. We empower ordinary people to perform extraordinary acts in the face of emergencies. We train. We mobilize. We connect donors and volunteers to those in urgent need of a helping hand. Whether it’s a tornado, hurricane or a heart attack, a call for blood or a call for help, the Red Cross is there.
On call 24/7 to provide immediate care and comfort to those affected by disaster, whether it is a single family going through the trauma of a house fire, or an entire community facing the aftermath of a tornado, hurricane or flood, the Red Cross is able to be a first responder providing food, shelter and emotional support.
When a U.S. service member is deployed and a crisis happens at home, the American Red Cross uses its network across the U.S. as well as offices on military installations around the world to provide emergency communications and referral services. Last year, local volunteers and staff provided over 42 emergency communications and additional services for our military families.
The Red Cross measures disaster readiness in three ways: developing human resources, increasing material resources, and building community partnerships. We rely on local volunteers who have the leadership and technical expertise necessary to deliver and manage an effective disaster response. To reduce the time between an event and when supplies reach people in need, we pre-position items such as cots, blankets, and first-aid kits throughout the region, and we have agreements in place with food suppliers acrossTexasso that we can provide mass feeding at a moment’s notice.
With 95 years of serving Lubbock and the South Plains region, the American Red Cross is a critical and integral member of the community infrastructure. We are a stakeholder and vital provider, collaborating with others to provide support to and strengthen the community at large.
A Stronger Red Cross for Lubbock and the South Plains Region
Together, in 15 counties from Bailey to Lubbock to Yoakum, and stretching across the North Texas Region, we are the American Red Cross, South Plains Regional Chapter and our mission is vast and critical. No other organization provides the depth of humanitarian services the Red Cross provides with your support.
Each day brings new disasters and people count on us to be there with food, clothing, shelter, and other essentials. We’re in communities every day teaching life-saving skills, providing resources for members of the armed forces, helping international families in crisis, and aiding efforts to maintain a safe and ready blood supply.
The Call for Support
The American Red Cross South Plains Regional Chapter has approximately125 volunteers that deliver our services 365 days a year / 24 hours a day supported by 2 full-time and 2 part-time staff. The Red Cross empowers our volunteers to achieve our mission in the South Plains and exists solely through the support of the local community. It is only through the donation of time, talent and financial support by the community that Red Cross is able to provide life-saving services.
Red Cross volunteers and paid staff throughout Texas and the nation are working together as never before to help Texans prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. Our ability to care for people in Lubbock and across the South Plains depends upon building and strengthening partnerships, and engaging more volunteers and donors as Red Cross supporters. With your help, we can build a stronger, more sustainable Red Cross.
Of course, we’d love for you to help support the Red Cross by purchasing our book (buy links will be up SOON), but in the meantime the Red Cross can always use your donations. The button below will take you to a link where you can donate.

Meet the Characters from The Shadow of Mudflap
When I begin writing on a new project, my favorite part is creating the characters. I get to spend hours on Pinterest finding visual inspiration which tends to be the starting place for writing a story. For this novel, MF sent me a list of twelve characters with names, ages, and careers. I then took those characters and created their relationships, personalities, and the entire story around them.
THE SHADOW OF MUDFLAP is a story with a HUGE cast of characters and I thought it might be fun to introduce you to a few of them today. I’ve posted the inspiration photos of Mudflap and Shanae here, but you can see the rest of the inspiration photos for THE SHADOW OF MUDFLAP on my Pinterest board for the book.
Shanae:
(Kate Beckinsale…inspiration)
Raised by her single father who was a racecar driver. She grew up in a man’s world, surrounded by speed and adrenaline. It rubbed off a bit on her. She was recruited into the Department of Homeland Security in college by a childhood friend, Zach, who she knew from the tracks. He was also a race kid who went into the FBI.
Her cover is that she is a medical trauma nurse on a medevac chopper team. When the call comes for the Foxtrot team, it’s code for the spy team to move into action via the chopper. Most times those “medical emergencies” go to a specialized hospital which is actually a front for a DHS compound, so no one knows that they aren’t actually picking up patients, but instead going on missions. She does serve on the trauma team for the hospital for real too. So double the jobs, double the pressure….and they are both high-pressure jobs.
As Shanae, she’s sweet and quiet and unassuming, although when she gets riled up Shadowfox tends to come out. Shanae is daisies and cowboy boots.
As Shadowfox, she’s kick-ass, aggressive, and extremely sensual. She always gets her man and it’s usually by his balls. Shadowfox is blood red roses and stiletto boots with knives tucked into the top of them.
Mudflap:
(Justice Joslin…inspiration)
His parents had TC (7 yrs older), then twins Mia/Sarah (5 yrs older). TC went on to be an NFL pro, the twins went to med and law school. They were ALL perfect at the point where MF needed to make some life decisions. He was clueless and had no idea what he wanted to do.
Mudflap was an accident. Daddy got turned on by a Mudflap girl (never made any sense since a mudflap girl is a silhouette, but mom’s version of the story, and she was pregnant and hormonal so no one questioned it to her face) and had unprotected sex with mom…then to top it off, dad was out hunting when mom went into labor. She wasn’t a happy camper about any of it, so she named their boy Mudflap. (It’s okay, she’s since forgiven him for being born.)
But due to his inauspicious beginnings and perfect siblings, he’s felt that he’s never lived up….so hasn’t even tried. He graduated from high school and, without his parents’ knowledge, joined the Army (that’s what screwups do, right?) Regardless of how he sees himself, he’s anything but a screwup. In the Army he quickly rose up the Spec Op ranks and became an elite sniper. But after 8 years in the military he came back to Lubbock and joined the fire department.
He’s been in Lubbock 4 years and has a nice life with a great group of friends who he plays poker with every week.
Here are some of the other main characters you will find in the Pinterest files:
*Seth Mills/ 28yrs / CIA – Shanae’s ex
*Stetson Higgins/ 35yrs / Firefighter close friend – lives in apartment complex next door to Brooklynn. A confirmed bachelor.
*Brooklynn Tyler/ 20yrs / Secretary – lives next door to Stetson
*TC Davidson / 37yrs / Football Coach – Mudflap’s older brother.
*Andrew Ward/ 40yrs / Doctor/Assassin – Crush on Shanae and is part of the Foxtrot Team
*Benny Holman / 20yrs / Quarterback on Football Team –Like most guys his age, he’s all about sex and girls.
*Misty Davis/ 22yrs / Stalker of MF – visits fire station constantly bringing food and stuff;
*Riley Banks/ 33yrs– lawyer; poker buddy; A&M grad
*Lisa Hicks/ 30yrs – golf pro
*Derek / 25yrs– roommate and unrepentant flirt. Derek tends to be the voice of reason. He sees a lot more than most give him credit for. He’s a marketing executive.
*Shanae’s Foxtrot Team –
Jeremy Compton – Foxtail; (pilot),
Cord Ellison – Sunfox (flight paramedic), California surfer dude.
Andrew Ward – Foxglove (doctor), Second in command at LiFT
Michael Turner – Firefox (back-up pilot and paramedic); large, muscular; into sports and poker; used to run wildland crews in Colorado
Quirk Mitchell– Quirk; computer/technology guru
Daniel Stanton – Foxhunter; head honcho at LiFT
SAM- computer at LiFT- Australian male or British female depending on who it’s talking to

5 Weeks until THE SHADOW OF MUDFLAP Release
My co-author, M.F. Smith, has some EXTREMELY talented connections…i.e. his kids. His son, Scott Smith, wrote this gorgeous song for the release of the book. I am in complete awe!! It brought me to tears the first time I listened to it. I hope you all like it as much as I do… (press the link below and the audio will start playing)
Mudflap
The Shadow of Mudflap Song by Scott Smith
Verse 1
Well I saw her pretty face
It was beautiful to me
Thunder at my feet
And lightning in the air.
Well her face is like a rose
A whisper in the wind
The night full of stars
Her light shines within
Chorus
And I saw the light
I’ll tell her that I love her
That she’s the one tonight
Oh I hold her tight
With the crazy world around us
I won’t give up the fight
Verse 2
The bullets fly around me
And my heart starts to go
But for your love I keep fighting
There’s no better thing I know
(Repeat Chorus)
Bridge
Love never fails
Love never breaks for me
I’ll never quit
Never give up on you
Forever will be
Just you and me always
We were meant to be
(repeat chorus)
Scott doesn’t have a website yet, although I definitely foresee this in his future, but he does work a lot with his talented sister (also M.F.’s daughter), Anna Averitt. Here his the link to her Facebook page so you can keep up with what both these talented musicians are doing!
And don’t forget, it releases in only 5 weeks!!!
All proceeds will go to the Lubbock Chapter of the Red Cross.

My new reading corner!!!
Okay, so here it is….my new reading area in my bedroom. I did mention my master bedroom is huge, right?? OMG, our house was built in 1979 and I don’t know what they were thinking because whole families could live in this one room alone…it’s crazy over-the-top big.
BUT I am so okay with that now because it is officially my new favorite place to hang out with all my books.
I intermixed them, although they are divided by read and to-be-read. Note the TBR shelves are the lower two and the one off by itself. Yes, I have an insane number of books still to be read and that’s before we EVER discuss my kindle. O.O
