Antique Mirror Makeover!
I know I shouldn't be wishing summer away.After all, I live in Minnesota, and it will be sub-zero temps herebefore we know it.But, with summer comes mold, pollen, and yes, thatspawn of the devil (for me anyway)-RAGWEED!It's a good thing I work from home-and evenbetter that hubby has been away at training allweek-because my nose seriouslylook's like Rudolph the red nose reindeer!I'm not kidding folks!

Like Mother-Like Daughter!
When my daughter, Mel, and son-in-law, Andy, announced a few monthsago that they were thinking of selling their townhouse and buyinga larger, detached single-family home, I can't say I was surprised!With a six month old baby-two cats and a dog,things were getting pretty darn tight in their 1200 square foottown home.But, what did surprise was when Mel advised me a monthor so later, that they had not only found their dream home,but that it was a fixer upper!Say what! My daughter-who had vowed to NEVER, EVER buya home that required ANY work(thanks in part to me buying our home)was now doing just that!I won't lie-it took me a moment to respond because I had to pickmy jaw up off the floor first!

Wonderful Wednesday Blog Hop #134!
Hello, everyone! I hope your week is going fabulously!It's been SUPER hot and muggy here in Minnesota,so I've been spending all of my 'free' time insideworking on a few projects!Speaking of projects-yesterday, I shared our kitchen island makeoverand I'm just so darn happy with the way it turned out that Ican't help but smile every time I'm in the kitchen!

Sensational Sunday Love Links!
Happy Sunday, dear friends!
Today is the day that I reflect back on the past week-
praise our Good Lord for the blessings he's provided-
and spend time with loved ones.
It is also a day where I put together
a collection of all the things I've found in blogland
that have inspired me.
I hope you enjoy this week's
love links as much as I do.
1. Favorite DIY- Letter signs have been huge for quite some time-but making them yourself can sometimes be even more expensive than buying them! Well, Sherry, from Savvy Apron found an inexpensive way-and I LOVE how realistic they turned out!!
2. Favorite Beverage- I'm always looking for fun-refreshing drinks to serve atat our family summer gatherings, and this Raspberry Grapefruit Mojito that Stacie, from Divine Lifestyle definitelyfits the bill!!
3. Favorite recipe-Marci, from My Heavenly Recipes has put togethera dessert that is definitely HEAVENLY-and one I'm goingto serve for our next family gathering!
4. Favorite room makeover- My mind (and heart) has definitely been on kitchen's latelyso when I saw Kris' makeover, from Aurora Patina-I fell totally in love! The crisp white
cabinets-dark grout on the back splash and stainless steel appliances are simple
perfection.
5. Favorite Re-purpose- I'm drooling over Mallorie, from Repurposed Finds,update on a server-turned vintage vanity! Simply GORGEOUS!!
6. Favorite Tip- I absolutely ADORE hydrangeas, but it's not alwayseasy to keep them looking fresh for very long-and the only way I knew howto preserve them, was using hairspray! UGH! What a smelly-sticky mess!
But thanks to Karen, from Karen's up on the Hill, I no longer need to go through
that nasty process!! This is a must see post for all you hydrangea lovers!
