North Park Poetry Slam Series
The North Park Poetry Slam Series consists of 10 slams.There will be 9 qualifiers and a final slam on March 10th.
Poems:
Poems must be original and written by the performer
Participants:
The slam is open to anyone who would like to participate.
Judging:
Judges will be selected randomly from the audience and willscore each poet on a scale of 0 to 10.
Qualifiers:
Qualifiers are 2 round slams that will occur once a monthfrom June to February. In each qualifier, poets will be given the opportunityto perform 1 original poem in the first round, and the top scorers will advanceto the second round where they will perform another original poem.
5th Place = 1 point
4th Place= 2 points
3rd Place = 3 points
2nd Place = 4 points
1st place = 5 Points and $50
Repeat Rule:
If a participant places in the top 3 in a qualifier, thepoem used in the 2nd round will to be retired and cannot be usedagain until finals
Finals:
When all qualifying slams are over, the top 10 ranking poetswill compete in the North Park Grand Slam Finals for the opportunity to win$500.
