WIP Challenge days 18 and 19!
Sorry busy week!
How long did it take to write your book?
I want to say it took about 6 months. The rewrites and edits took 12! lol.
Did your faith or beliefs impact your book?
I was learning about paganism. Mostly Celtic based, but a little of everything. I got a lot of ideas for the magic part, well with my own twist. But I did learn about the elements on ups and downs, in and outs. It was very interesting.

30 Day WIP Challenge day 17!
What was your honest review of your work when you did your first edit?
There were parts I absolutely love and then there were parts that were super boring. I always felt there was something missing. What was it! It drove me crazy. As I did the edits the characters got older as well, which seems fitting. But when I did the final edits, and I removed some boring stuff and added more scenes that fit. Including a lot of spicy scenes. Some scenes made me go WOW I can't believe I did that lol.

Did you pick special names for your characters or are they just names?
Most of them have special names. Some have magicish names while others have regular names. At the time I started creating the characters I kind of wanted to give them more pagan names. Through the many changes I think I changed one name, and that was the Doctor's assistant. I had a different name I wanted to call her because later on in the next book you meet River's ex who is totally batshit crazy. Autumn and Mabon seemed fitting, as Did Aarawn and Anatha. Mabon being a celebration of the fall festival, and Aarawn and Anatha are different takes on gods. You have names like Sage, River, Rowan, Hazel, Ivy Lee (Which was my sister's dogs name at the time), and Moss. There are others as well. You will catch more in the next book when they start learning about their magic.

Did you write to music? If not did you write while the TV was going?
Music. I usually write to music less distractive then TV. I had created a soundtrack that has changed over the years, some of the music is still there. Here is the new updated one:
There was an original that had DMX Up in Here and more boy band music. But I am okay with this one.

Are there celebrities you based around your characters?
Post pics.
LOL yes the boy band I have kinda loosely based around NSYNC. When I started writing the book boy bands were still rather big. So I thought what would happen if I add a boy band into the mall with the witches. Now I will let readers guess who is who.
The boy band had it all. The baby, the good guy, the bad boy as in Rowan Reeves who had always done everything his way, and didn’t care if someone brought it up. He stood six-one, with black hair, although the color changed weekly, and plain brown eyes. He didn’t feel very bad boy at the moment, he felt scared, confused and curious about the women who had a hand in saving them even though he could see their hands all shook. Anatha was looking at the guys too, or rather River Osteridge. River was the baby of the band. He stood six-one too, with curly brown hair and dark blue eyes. He had muscles in all the right areas, which was fine by her.
Drake Spear was the man behind some of Tune N’s songs. He wrote and helped produce some of the new material on their newest album. The reunion his idea the media had put it. He had long dark hair. His brown eyes watched the infected out the windows.
. Linden Stables was the bass of the boy group. He stood about as tall as Autumn, five-eleven, and was six months older then her too. She saw how wide his pretty blue eyes were, his brown hair trimmed short on his head making his ears stick out. Shock, she thought, we all look wide eyed scared.
. Stefan Mallow was the oldest in the band. Also the shortest, standing five-five give or take. He had black messy hair, and brown eyes. And energy that Autumn could pick up, almost lightly not as heavy as Anatha but more than all the rest. She put that away for later.

30 Day WIP Challenge day 13.
Is this part of a series? If so what is the overall series about?
Awaken the Elements is book 1 of my Element Trilogy. A angry god who has been imprisoned for a long time wants to use the elemental magic to live on the earth once more to rule it. But because of a family curse, the elements have been born into human form. The human hosts have to learn to control the wild magic inside them which leads them on the journey to their destiny. I don't want to give to much away.

30 Day WIP Challenge Day 12!
Did you ever get writer’s block working on this? If so how did you overcome it?
I never did. I got writers block editing. There were times that it got boring. I rewrote it, and then rewrote it again, and then finally last year after thinking I finally re-changed it to actually fit a little better. I actually cut things out and added some some stuff and now i love how the final turned out.

30 Day WIP Challenge day 11.
Was there something that inspired you while you wrote this?
Actually I was researching the different pagan traditions at the time which helped inspire me with the story. I liked the idea of Elements and I started to work characters traits around the elements. Element of earth, fire, and water and air I had to look into the moods. I had fun building the personalities around the elements. Anatha and her anger that burned and Autumn and her stability and naturalness. In the next book Playing with Magic you get to learn more about the elements of Air and Water.

30 WIP Challenge Day 10!
How did you start the book/wip? Did you jump in or did you outline?
I actually did some research on elements before as I created the characters. After I created the characters I jumped right in. It started on paper in first person through Autumn. Half way through when they get to Bean the Dancing Dragon I stopped and started to type it out and it changed to third person. I have outlined the rest of the books in the trilogy though. Playing with Magic the second book, the rough draft is finished I have some things to fix, but it came out pretty good.

30 Day WIP Challenge Day 9
Where did you get the idea for this book?
I think me and Author Toy Davis were sitting around watching bad zombie movies. I am a Romero fan so Night, Dawn and Dead are my favorite. Dawn being my least favorite but the idea of the mall was funny. At the time we were listening to NSYNC there CD No Strings Attached had come out, and I had been toying with this idea about elements. Me and Toy were chatting and we were already writing short stories. But as the idea bloomed I through it all together and created Awaken the Elements. It was originally called Munched because the infected were originally zombies. I have changed the zombies to an infection that drives the infected to infect others.
