Revisions to Expected Publication Dates

Cleo Coyle aka Alice Kimberly has been at least four years late in delivering something that has been advertised as "coming soon", like forever. Not only that: it has seventy reviews here on GR with an average of 4.41 stars! And it has not even been published. Huh? Her fans are rabid; and it looks to me like the book itself is actually a hoax. Haha, very funny, considering the title. But I digress.

So far Smashed-Rat-on-Press has never been as late as Ms Kimberly or Coyle... and we hope never in a gazillion years to pre-announce books that are never going to be "published" even if they're by Shenanigan Cheesefield. For starters, we don't announce books until we have at least a first draft in hand. (Unlike some people who deal with $2,000,000 advances on books that exist entirely within the author's heads.)

In the old days, we didn't even announce books until they had been published for several years, if at all. Now we try to announce books when they're available, because we might accidentally end up with a reader if we do that. And our experimental "buzz building" strategy for 2013 was to try pre-announcing titles that would soon be available. That seems to have contributed to actually selling a book as well.

The real purpose of this blog posting is to inform our loyal SROP readers that some projected publication dates have been changed for our Spring 2014 offerings. We are doing this to "better serve you" as they say in the biz. That is, by arranging the publication schedule so that the series is released in chronological order, we hope anyone who stumbles over them does so in the proper sequence and doesn't accidentally read the two Ginger Amelia Sprockette books before the other one.

So, the revised dates are:

April 2, 2014: Three Maidens in the Dark
April 15, 2014: Soft Pink Rain
May 1, 2014: Time Enough For Picnics

(The last is actually dependent on a spring photo-shoot, so we'll know more after Groundhog Day.)

And when we say "available" we mean you won't be able to get them except by special arrangement, but copies of them will definitely be on the planet somewhere.

The main purpose of this blog is to announce occasional additions and changes to the SROP catalog or the site. And it doubles as a soap-box from which to gesticulate and babble...
