2022 Year in Review
Life gets hectic sometimes and 2022 was certainly one of those years. It was a good kind of hectic, for the most part, but exhausting. I’m praying 2023 will be a little more sane. I’m sad I haven’t been posting regularly, but you’ll see why.
First, I started 2022 working on several projects at once. I reworked Selarial’s Song prior to republishing it and Dream Song. Then I did the final edits for Battle Song and published them all in the spring. After a long journey, the Talmanor Trilogy was complete! I’m rather pleased with how it came out and my new cover artist is wonderful.
Since I’m Indy, I had to learn how to do all the formatting myself. Once I learned the ropes, it wasn’t as impossible as I had thought, but man, did I ever come close to taking a sledgehammer to my PC a few times! Along the way, I made myself work on the marketing side, something I really don’t like to do. I’ve a ways to go still, but I’ve learned a lot this year, including how to do Amazon ads.
During all this, I continued to work on the first in the new Epic Fantasy series, Chronicles of Asgard; Awakening, Winds of Chaos! That released Dec 7th. After a long hiatus, I published Four books in a year!
I also did my first ever in-person book sale at an SCA event in November and it was a blast! It was cold and not as well attended as I expected, but we had a great time, sold some books and spread the word about the upcoming release.
The release of Winds of Chaos has been the most successful to date and I thank all my readers for their continued interest.
On the home front life has been hectic as well. My husband’s work schedule continues to be erratic every time anyone gets ill.
The only time he was able to take off was when my mother started going down hill in March and they called the family together. She had Alzheimer’s and rarely recognized us, but my oldest sons came down also. Even with her eyes closed she was smiling as we visited and laughed. She knew we were there and that memory will be with me always.
My youngest son is at home, in school full time and until a couple months ago, working full time as well. He was finally able to get an apprenticeship in a related field and his hours are better, but the schedule juggling goes on…
I’ve had to let some things slide to do what had to be done. but things are looking up. I’ll post again on the plans for the New Year. in the mean time –
Happy New Year Everybody!

Winds of Chaos, Book One in Chronicles of Asgard is live!
After a busy few months, much hairpulling, and several necessary delays, Winds of Chaos entered the world with a bang!
Welcome to the training grounds of the Armies of Heaven
Born on a world full of dangerous creatures and agents of darkness, Alvinar and Rowan are rigorously trained to hunt and fight all manner of things to survive. Asked to lead a new settlement, far from aid, they throw themselves into the business of exploring and securing the area. Freya and Thor warn them trouble is on the horizon.
When scouts find the remains of an ancient city, they go to explore; concerned at the presence of strange magic that feels – different. Several of the gods from Asgard come to investigate. An attempted invasion by portal stirs the strange magic in defense, but also destabilizes that magic and ripples are felt even in Asgard.
Alvinar is changed by it and Freya takes him to Asgard. When a magical explosion in the ruins spreads chaos, even in Asgard, the very core of Rowan and Alvinar’s perception of who they are will be tried in its fire.
Can they keep to the path of Light when Darkness seeks to sear their very souls?

Celestial – a most unusual fantasy
I’m amazed at how long it’s been since I posted! Winds of Chaos has had me busy, but more about that in the next post! #amwritingfantasy #amediting
I have to shout out about Hannah Mae’s book! Celestial is the most unusual fantasy novel I’ve see in a long time.
4 stars
This is the first time I have ever read a story with Angels as the characters, including some who are fallen. This is an unexpected foray into realms unknown with a great deal of warfare, both physical and spiritual, made even more captivating by characters with some astonishingly human traits. Akela brings a delightful bit of humor to the mix. The worldbuilding is as solid as the characters and I highly recommend it!
I received a free early review copy in exchange for an honest review and I honestly love this!

Battle Song is Launched!
The Trilogy is now complete! It took some turns in this one even I didn’t expect.
Buckle up!
Alcar and Selarial rush back into Coalition Space. Dalova has been captured by the Thess’n Empire. With the Coalition Fleet, aided by their old allies of Zhyre and the new Spec Ops Teams of gifted individuals from both species, they plan the rescue of a world. Can the Coalition seize the initiative from their enemies?
The treasonous maneuvering of certain individuals complicates matters and Intelligence is diligently looking for the insider who has been getting information out to the Thess’ns. Will they find the traitor before it’s too late?
The biggest question of all – How can they break the centuries of Thess’n aggression? Even knowing that they were also victims of an outside force may not be enough to turn them around.

Selarial ne Talmanor is wary of going on patrol with the mostly human crew of the Ventura. They have a good combat record, but human suspicions run deep. Will they be willing to trust the Sorthian crew of the Equinox?

Review – Power In Time
Power In Time
A Kynaston Royal Saga
by Erudessa Gentian
4 stars
Excellent Fun! This is a great cast of characters, and then, there’s the tiger… The story if full of intrigue and every answer seems to bring more questions as Lark tries to navigate her new life. The worldbuilding is unique, my only disappointment was how short it was. I’m waiting on the sequel.
