New Beginnings

It’s official! Bookouture have signed my debut novel, The French for Love, and it will be published this summer.

It’s been hard work and a long slog, but thanks to the enthusiastic support of Oliver Rhodes, my publisher, and the patient perseverance of Emily Ruston, my editor, I’ve got there in the end.

Chapter 1 is entitled ‘New Beginnings’. A friend of mine once remarked, “Every now and then in life you have to throw your heart in first and then dive in after it.” Our move to France five years ago felt a little like that – a dive into the unknown. And in The French for Love our heroine, Gina, dives into a new life and a foreign culture with similar gusto. You can read about her trials and her triumphs when the book is published on 12th July.

It’s exciting to see everything coming together in the final stages. The book has been my ‘baby’ for a while now – almost three years in the making – but finally it’s about to set off into the wide world, on its own New Beginning. A nerve-wracking stage for an anxious parent!

I hope the world is good to it. I hope it stands on its own two feet. I hope you will enjoy reading it as much as I have enjoyed writing it.

If you come across it, let me know…
