A special treat on Snoop's Birthday. Chapter I of King's Daughter
I thought the easiest way of doing this would be to put up a link to the actual post on my website. I don't do this kind of thing often and yes, I know that there is 3 months before King's Daughter will be released, but still. It is Snoop's Birthday. Aura releases to some mixed reviews. LOL
Seems as if the book itself is being well received, but Aura herself is going to be in for a rocky ride. People go from loving her, to disapproving of her attitude. Well, controversy can be a good thing, right?
Aura, is only 18 when she first encounters Thorn. She is scared and out of her element. She has no experience with love beyond what she has seen at home, and that was precious little. Her mother instilled a fear of men in her when she was very young and she is afraid to get close to anyone. She reaches out for some form of friendship with others, but it is basically women that she is willing to trust, like her friendship with Signi. She puts up walls so no one can hurt her any more than she has been. She has no defenses against someone like Thorn, doesn't know how to act around him...worse, she does not really believe in love.
Thorn is a man of experience, and he knows his worth. He is a warlord, and he knows what he wants, though he is a little torn at first when the time comes to claim Aura. She is all he has prayed for, yet he has been on his own for a long time. Once his mind is made up, he goes after her like the warrior he is, allowing her no choice but to accept the inevitable.
Both Thorn and Aura are complex people, though Thorn is easier to understand. He is a man with basic wants, and it doesn't take a lot of imagination to figure out what that is. Aura is a girl/woman who has to fight through her fears and doubts to accept the gift life has given her. It is a lesson she does not learn easily.

Changes
We have made changes to the copy of King's Champion as it was apparent that there were some words that had gotten changed slightly in the formatting... the spell checker probably had a bit of a hand in it as well. Anyway... an undated version has been placed on Smashwords and is ready for uploading to anyone who had bought a copy in the past. The paperback copy will come out at a later date... hopefully towards the end of January or before.

The new cover for Gabriel is only avail at this time on the printed copy. Becca will determine whether she will change things at a later date as her schedule allows it.

Another step forward
So, within the next couple of days we are about the take another step forward. The Elven Chronicles are going to be available in print. Yes, it is true, we have changed the cover on Gabriel and are making both Gabriel and Marious' Story available in print. There will be more coming up on this in the not so distant future.

Elven Chronicles Trivia Contest
All right, so I had this idea... put up a trivia contest on the Elven Chronicles on my website... a new question every Wednesday and Sunday until after Celebration of light has been released in or about the beginning of December. It would ask questions on all of the books of the series up and including that short story. Why? Well, why not? Should be fun, right? We will see. Of course a contest is nothing without a prize... now what should that be? An Elven necklace? An Elven belt? Something made up with an Elven weave... hum... sounds interesting. I have got someone working on the pattern, someone who knows how to make something special. I wonder what it will be. The weave looks good, magical. We will have to see what he comes up with, even I have not been allowed into his workshop as he designs his treasure. As we await his release of the design he chooses, we continue to ask the questions, double check the rules on the website. These things are important.
