"Daphne" Deadgirl Novella Up for Pre-Order

Howdy!

The much-promised "Daphne" novella is finally finished, and is coming out December 12th. However, due to the magic of the internets, it can be pre-ordered now!

It covers what Daphne was up to after the end of "Deadgirl: Ghostlight."
Think of it as a "How I Spent My Summer" essay but filled with horror and a little romance.

"Deadgirl: Daybreak" Delayed Until Fall (Hopefully)

Unfortunately, I have to announce that the Spring launch date planned for Deadgirl 4 ain't gonna happen.

If the universe aligns correctly it should drop by Fall. Here's a more in-depth look at what happened and how I boned it up:

Free Book - Djinn & Tonic

Howdy! I entered this Inkitt novel contest, and there's only one more day left (today). If you're interested, just visit the link below for a free copy of "Djinn & Tonic." There's only around 20 copies left, so get 'em while they exist.

Here's the pitch:

"What if your genie didn't have powers? What if you wished for a million dollars and your genie started planning a heist?"

It's part supernatural thriller, part hard-boiled noir, part heist movie. It reads fast, and any help I could get for this contest would be HUGELY appreciated.

Here it is: https://www.inkitt.com/stories/thrill...

Deadgirl 3 on Kindle Now

Deadgirl: Goneward is totally available for Kindle purchase with your monies.

Paperback is coming soon, but if you get a Kindle you can dive into Goneward right now!

This series means a lot to me - it's my favorite thing I've ever written. Lucy and Morgan and Zack are a hell of a good time to write, and I hope that translates to the page.

Here's the link, if you're interested:

Stargazing

I sometimes think about how I review books, because I wonder if other people review them the same.

I think the 1 to 5 star rating is supposed to be universal, like, say, a 5 star book is BETTER than a 4 star book. Which, I mean, that makes sense and it's how math works.

However, I tend to review books (and movies, and games, and whatevs) based on what it was TRYING to accomplish. So, for me, giving a 5 star review means something executed fully on its concept. Anything less than five is the difference between intent and reality, essentially.

So, for instance, I gave "Proven Guilty," a Dresden Files book, five stars. I gave "The Lies of Locke Lamora" four stars. I think "Lies of Locke Lamora" is probably a better book, but, I think "Proven Guilty" perfectly executed its concept better.

So, Proven Guilty is a better "modern supernatural detective story" than Lies of Locke Lamora is a "heist fantasy story." Proven Guilty makes no mistakes, whereas I would say Locke Lamora makes a few (very small) ones.

However, if you ask me which I LIKE more and which is better, I'd say Locke Lamora is clearly a better book.

Does that make me crazy? Probably.

Some Horror

I have a spooky/creepy (also scary) story called "Roomies" in this book: Curiosity Quills: Darkscapes

January 31st! That's soon, like, very soon. Or it's in the past, I can't know where you are in the timestream. And it would be arrogant of me to presume.

Anyway, I think it's a cool story - claustrophobia, roommates being creepy, unexplainable Lovecraftian breaches in reality - so please check it out if that sounds up your alley.

Huge Favor re: Deadgirl

Hey guys and gals, huge favor! The first Deadgirl is only 8 reviews away from getting a lot more love and attention from Amazon.

I only need 50 ratings over there, and I've got almost a hundred here from you gentlepeople at goodreads.

If you haven't rated it over there yet, would you mind swinging by Amazon? Even a one sentence review and a rating counts. Thanks!
