Photo Gallery - The Light Brothers at Mad Monster Charlotte 2014

The Light Brothers at Mad Monster - March 2014

description

Adam and I made a public appearance recently at Mad Monster Monster Party Charlotte (March 21-23, 2014).

While quite a few friends and fans made it out to see us at Mad Monster, we were aware that many of our Goodreads friends wouldn't be able to make the trip, so we promised to take pics and share them here.

So this is it - The Light Brothers' Mad Monster 2014 Photo Gallery. We'd be happy to sign your forehead with a permanent gold Sharpie when you're done looking at it in order to give you the full convention experience.

description

Big ol' Marlow greeted guests as they entered the convention center.

description

Our virgin table, all stacked and pretty. It wouldn't look that way for very long. Our special edition of Harmlessly Insane: The Complete Collection was completely sold out by noon of the second day. We had a surprise hit on our hands with the first complete Light Brothers collection.

description

Monster stuff for monster fans

description

The Bloke and his wonderful horror comic, Tomb of Terror. If you like throwbacks to the age of CREEPY and EERIE, I recommend checking this out at https://www.facebook.com/pages/Blokes...

description

...and more monster stuff...

description

The Lost Boy himself, Corey Feldman, stopped by The Light Brothers booth to check out our work and say hi. Seemed like a nice guy.

description

Crazy...babies...

description

Grampa drank too many Red Bulls I think...this thing looked a little too real in person!

description

Elvira hiding behind her table because she hadn't done her hair and makeup yet. (Just kidding) Seriously, Elvira looked great, just like her pictures.

description

Bill Moseley and Sid Haig came by our booth several times, pretty cool getting to hang out with Captain Spaulding and Otis a little. When we were setting up Sid Haig kept coming by and looking at our table. At first we thought he was digging our books, but then we realized he was angling for our bag of beef jerky. We should've known better.

description

Bill Moseley with The Light Brothers! He agreed to star as Lemuel in the film adaptation of Arboreatum, and as the truck-driver Jack for Adam's Taken. (or maybe he didn't, I can't be expected to remember every little detail)

description

Junior members of the Light crew stopped by and thought they'd show us old men how to really sell a book or two.

description

Just because we're the Light Brothers doesn't mean we can't get dark sometimes

description

Got together with good friends over some high-quality beers at The Flying Saucer after extremely long, but very fun days

description

All in all, Mad Monster was an absolute blast. We met a lot of fans, made new friends and sold approximately a metric shit-ton of books. The whole event far exceed our expectations, and we were shocked at the number of people who were familiar with our work. Maybe we need to get out more often. Can't wait for the next opportunity to hit the road.

(Note: Most of these pictures were taken during setup, so that's why you don't see any crowds. Once the floodgates were open, we could barely get away. We also didn't think to take photos with fans on our own camera, either - they took their pictures with them on their cell phones when they left! So if you were expecting to see your picture on here, sorry. Lesson learned.)
